We didn't buy a Lite plan, so we haven't seen the watermark's exact size or position ourselves.

- Lite keeps a watermark. Movavi lists "A small watermark in the corner" as part of what Lite includes. For client or business videos, choose the full Movavi Video Editor for Mac.
- On a Mac, the full editor gets cheaper fast. The full Video Editor for Mac costs $54.95 for a year with no watermark. Four months of Lite cost $47.80, and a fifth month takes you past the yearly price. Twelve months of Lite come to $143.40.
- It renews every month. The order page shows the next $11.95 charge a month after purchase. Cancel when your project is done.
- Untick the extra on the order page. Movavi's cart adds a $3.95 "Download Insurance Service" (re-download the installer for two years) next to Lite. It's optional.

Lite isn't a separate Mac app. Movavi's Lite page offers the same Movavi Video Editor for Mac download, at the same version, 27.1.0, and Lite is a cheaper plan with a shorter feature list. You start in the import area, where you add files or drag them in, with a player on the right and the timeline below.

Automatic subtitles in one click
Movavi Video Editor Lite for Mac creates captions from speech with AI. You pick the font, color and position, and Movavi says it handles "almost any language". Captions keep your clips watchable on mute in social feeds.
Silence removal and auto-tracked cropping
Movavi Video Editor Lite for Mac removes pauses from spoken footage in one click, or lets you set the pause length and volume threshold. Auto-tracked cropping follows the main subject while it reframes a horizontal clip as a vertical one for Shorts, Reels or TikTok.
Filters, transitions and the editing basics
Movavi Video Editor Lite for Mac includes the tools Movavi lists on its Lite page: the blade tool, filters and LUTs, transitions, overlays, stickers, intros, slow motion, picture in picture, color correction and audio editing, with "hundreds of effects" and dozens of free sounds and music tracks. Where it falls short
- The watermark. It stays on Lite exports, so Lite isn't for professional work.
- Price over time. At $11.95 a month, Lite costs $143.40 a year, more than double the full Mac editor's $54.95 yearly plan.
- A shorter tool list. Movavi's Lite page doesn't list the AI noise reduction, background removal, motion tracking or templates it lists for the full editor.
- Paid extras. The large effects and music library is a separate Movavi Effects subscription.
