Movavi Video Editor Lite: Movavi's $11.95-a-Month Starter Plan for Quick Edits on Windows
Movavi Video Editor Lite is a $11.95-a-month plan of Movavi Video Editor for Windows 10 and 11 that gives you the essentials (cutting, cropping, automatic subtitles, silence removal, transitions, titles and music) for people who edit a short video now and then. The catch is in Movavi's own feature list: Lite keeps a small watermark in the corner of your videos.
Think of a birthday clip, a quick Reel or a class presentation you need by Friday. Lite is built for that one job, at a low monthly price, without committing to a year.
Quick facts
- Current version: 27.1.0, updated October 26, 2026
- Developer: Movavi
- Runs on: Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). Movavi sells a separate Lite plan for Mac.
- Price: $11.95 a month, renewing monthly. There's no yearly or lifetime Lite plan.
- Watermark: yes, a small one in the corner, even on the paid plan
- Download: the Movavi Video Editor installer, a 2.7 MB online installer (400 MB of disk space needed)
What we checked: Movavi's Lite page (version 27.1.0, updated October 26, 2026, the feature list and the "A small watermark in the corner" line), the Windows order page (Movavi Video Editor Lite, a 1-month subscription at $11.95, next charge $11.95 a month later), Movavi's full Video Editor order page ($69.95 for 1 year) and the installer (2,864,448 bytes), all on October 31, 2026. We didn't buy a Lite plan, so we haven't seen the watermark's exact size or position ourselves.
Before you buy
- Lite keeps a watermark. Movavi lists "A small watermark in the corner" as part of what Lite includes. If your videos go to clients or a business channel, you want the full Movavi Video Editor plan, which Movavi sells with "No watermark".
- Lite costs more than the full editor if you keep it a year. Twelve months of Lite is $143.40. Movavi's full Video Editor 1-year plan is $69.95 and has no watermark. From the sixth month on, the yearly full plan is the cheaper choice.
- It renews every month. The order page shows the next $11.95 charge a month after purchase. Cancel when your project is done if you don't need it again.
- Untick the extra on the order page. Movavi's cart adds a $3.95 "Download Insurance Service" (re-download the installer for two years) next to Lite. It's optional.

Overview
Lite isn't a separate program. Movavi's Lite page offers the same Movavi Video Editor download, at the same version, 27.1.0, and Lite is a cheaper plan for it with a shorter feature list. You get the familiar Movavi layout: tool tabs down the left side (Import, Audio, Text, Transitions, Effects, Elements, Tools), a player on the right and a multi-track timeline across the bottom.

Features
One-click automatic subtitles
Movavi Video Editor Lite turns speech into captions with AI and places them on the timeline. You choose the font, color and position, and Movavi says it works "in almost any language". Subtitles matter more than ever because most social videos are watched with the sound off.
Silence removal and auto-tracked cropping
Movavi Video Editor Lite cuts pauses out of talking-head footage in one click, or you set the pause length and volume threshold yourself. Auto-tracked cropping keeps the speaker or product centered while it turns a horizontal clip into a vertical one, which saves the fiddly keyframing a Short or Reel usually needs.
The editing basics
Movavi Video Editor Lite includes the tools Movavi lists on its Lite page:
- the blade tool for cutting, plus cropping
- filters and LUTs, color correction and slow motion
- transitions, titles, overlays, stickers and intros ("hundreds of effects")
- picture in picture and audio editing, with dozens of free sounds and music tracks
- mouse-over effects preview: hover over an effect to see it before you apply it

Lite vs the Full Movavi Video Editor
Movavi doesn't publish a side-by-side table, so this compares what its Lite page and its full Video Editor order page each list, as of October 31, 2026.
| What Movavi lists | Video Editor Lite | Full Video Editor |
| Watermark | A small watermark in the corner | No watermark |
| Plans | $11.95 a month only | $19.95 a month ($14.95 first month), $69.95 a year, $149.95 lifetime |
| Auto subtitles and silence removal | Listed | Listed |
| Background removal, noise reduction, motion tracking | Not on the Lite page | Listed as one-click AI tools |
| Screen recording and media conversion | Not on the Lite page | Listed |
| Effects | Hundreds of effects | Basic effects plus 40+ adjustable effects and 30+ subtitle styles |
Both can add Movavi Effects, a separate subscription with over 10,000 effects and 1,500 music tracks (free for 7 days). If a feature in the right-hand column is the reason you're buying, choose the full editor; the full Movavi Video Editor has its own page on this site.
Real-World Uses
- A one-off family video: cut a vacation recap, add music, a date title and transitions, export it, and cancel the plan.
- A school or work presentation: trim a recording, add text notes and stickers to call out key points, and turn on auto subtitles.
- A vertical clip from a horizontal video: let auto-tracked cropping follow the speaker and remove the pauses before posting.
Who It's For, and Who Should Skip It
Good fit: people with one short project or a few personal videos a year, who are fine with a small corner watermark and want the lowest entry price Movavi offers.
Skip it if:
- You need clean, watermark-free video for clients, a business channel or ads. Get the full Movavi Video Editor.
- You'll edit for more than five months. The full editor's $69.95 yearly plan costs less than six months of Lite.
- You need noise reduction, background removal or screen recording. Movavi lists those for the full editor, not for Lite.
Usage Guide
- Install: run the Movavi Video Editor installer. It downloads the program, so stay online. You need administrator rights.
- Activate: buy Lite on the order page and activate the program with the key Movavi sends.
- Add files: click Add Files or drag your clips into the import area or straight onto the timeline.
- Edit: cut with the blade tool, then add titles, transitions and filters from the tabs on the left. For pauses, select the clip and open Silence removal.
- Export: click Export, choose the format and save.
Where it falls short
- The watermark. It stays on Lite exports, which rules it out for anything professional.
- Price over time. A monthly-only plan at $11.95 adds up to $143.40 a year, about double the full editor's yearly price.
- A shorter tool list. Movavi's Lite page doesn't list the AI noise reduction, background removal, motion tracking or screen recording that its full Video Editor plan includes.
- Paid extras. The large effects and music library is a separate Movavi Effects subscription.
What Users Say
Lite is a new, low-cost plan, and we found no independent reviews of Lite itself. Because it runs the same Movavi Video Editor program, reviews of the editor still tell you what working in it is like.
Reviews of Movavi Video Editor
Digital Camera World (George Cairns, July 2026, 4.25 out of 5) on the subtitles: "It only took a few seconds for Movavi's AI-powered Auto subtitles tool to generate accurate subtitles from Maryna's interview and place them above the appropriate footage in the timeline."
Trustpilot covers all Movavi products, with 3.5 out of 5 from 22,132 reviews in mid-October 2026. Graham Voss (5 stars, September 2026): "So easy to use, especially for a pensioner like me. You can do so much like, brightening, cropping, adding titles, etc." On the other side, Valentin Mladinescu (3 stars, October 2026): "Dissapointed on the subscription model for payment."
The pattern: reviewers like how easy Movavi's editor is and how well its auto subtitles work, and the complaints are about subscriptions and paying extra. Movavi's own Lite page shows a 4.8 rating from 1,127 ratings, which is the vendor's figure.

FAQs
Does Movavi Video Editor Lite remove the watermark?
No. Movavi lists "A small watermark in the corner" as part of Movavi Video Editor Lite. Only the full Movavi Video Editor plans export without a watermark.
Is Movavi Video Editor Lite a one-time purchase?
No. Movavi Video Editor Lite is sold only as a 1-month subscription at $11.95 that renews monthly. Movavi's only one-time license is for the full Video Editor, at $149.95.
Can I use one Lite subscription on Windows and Mac?
Movavi sells them as two products: Movavi Video Editor Lite for Windows and Movavi Video Editor Lite for Mac, each with its own order page. Buy the one for the computer you edit on.
Is Movavi Video Editor Lite cheaper than the full version?
Only for a few months. Movavi Video Editor Lite costs $11.95 a month, while the full editor's 1-year plan is $69.95. After five months of Lite you've spent $59.75, and a sixth month takes you past the yearly plan's price.
Will Movavi Video Editor Lite run on an older laptop?
Probably. Movavi Video Editor Lite needs 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 4 GB of RAM, Intel HD Graphics 2000 or better and a 1280 × 768 screen.

An optional $3.95 add-on that Movavi's cart places next to Movavi Video Editor Lite. It lets you re-download the installer for two years. You don't need it to use Lite.
System Requirements

- Processor: Intel, AMD or compatible dual-core, 1.5 GHz
- Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 2000, NVIDIA GeForce series 8, AMD Radeon R600 or better, with current drivers

- Display: 1280 × 768, 32-bit color
- Disk: 400 MB to install, 600 MB for ongoing work

Conclusion
Movavi Video Editor Lite is worth $11.95 for one short, personal project: you get Movavi's easy editor with auto subtitles, silence removal and auto-cropping for a month, then cancel.
For anything else, the numbers point to the full Movavi Video Editor. Lite keeps a corner watermark, lacks the AI noise and background tools Movavi lists for the full plan, and costs more than the full yearly plan if you keep it past five months. Try the free download first. If you'll edit regularly or publish for work, skip Lite and buy the full editor's yearly plan.
