Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable: A Full Uninstaller That Lives on Your USB Stick
Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable is the no-install edition of Revo Uninstaller Pro 5 for Windows: you run it from a USB flash drive, one license covers you on any number of PCs, and it removes programs along with the files, folders and Registry entries they leave behind. This two-year license costs $42.31 before tax at checkout.
If you fix other people's computers, you know the routine: a laptop full of toolbars, a trial antivirus that won't uninstall, a game that left 3 GB behind. Installing a cleanup tool on every machine you touch is slow, and it leaves one more program behind. The Portable edition is built for exactly that job: plug in the stick, clean up, unplug.

What we checked: the 2-year Portable license on the order page at $42.31 plus $2.64 tax ($44.95 total), the vendor's version history listing Portable 5.5.4, and the 17.4 MB Pro trial installer dated September 23, 2026, on October 26, 2026. We didn't buy the Portable license or test it from a USB drive.
Before you buy
- There's no Portable trial. Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable must be activated after you download it. To try it first, install the 30-day trial of Revo Uninstaller Pro, which VS Revo Group says is identical in function, then buy Portable if it suits you.
- Activate it once, not on every PC. The Portable license isn't designed to be activated separately on each computer. Activate it, move it to your USB flash drive and run it from there.
- It's licensed to one person. Unlimited computers means your own use across many PCs, not a copy for each colleague.

Overview
Revo Uninstaller Pro does what Windows' own Apps and Features doesn't: after a program's built-in uninstaller finishes, it scans for the leftovers (files, folders and Registry entries) and lets you delete them. Before it removes anything, it creates a System Restore point and a backup of the whole Registry, and leftover files go to the Recycle Bin, so a mistake can be undone.
The Portable edition is the same program packaged differently. It doesn't install and doesn't write anything to the Windows Registry, so it can run from a removable drive and leave the host PC as it found it. Everything in the left-hand panel (All Programs, Traced Programs, Windows Apps, Browser Extensions, Logs Database, Hunter Mode and the Tools) works the same way in both.
The All Programs view in Revo Uninstaller Pro 5.0: recently installed programs grouped under New Programs, the rest under Other Programs, with Uninstall, Forced Uninstall and Install Program with Revo Uninstaller Pro on the left. The vendor's screenshot shows the installable Pro, which has the same interface as Portable.
Features
Uninstall, then sweep up the leftovers
Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable first runs a program's own uninstaller, then scans the drive and Registry for what it left behind and shows you the leftovers to delete. The Pro editions add extended scanning for leftovers, which the free Revo Uninstaller doesn't have.
Forced Uninstall for programs that won't go
Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable's Forced Uninstall removes programs whose own uninstaller is missing or broken, programs that were only partly installed or removed, and the remains of software that was uninstalled without Revo. You type the program's exact name or point to its folder, and Revo scans for everything that belongs to it, using its Logs Database where it can.
The Forced Uninstall dialog: "audacity" typed as the program's name, Revo has found 1 program and 1 trace log, and the Moderate scanning mode is selected.
Quick Uninstall: clear out several programs in one go
Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable's Quick/Multiple Uninstall takes a queue of programs, creates one Registry backup and restore point for the lot, runs their uninstallers silently where possible, and scans for leftovers automatically. On a bloated new laptop, that turns twenty separate uninstalls into one job.
Windows apps and browser extensions too
Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable lists Windows apps (pre-installed and from the Microsoft Store) separately from desktop programs. You can remove several at once, remove an app for all user accounts, or reset one to its default state. A separate Browser Extensions module groups extensions for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera and Internet Explorer so you can remove them in one place.
The Windows Apps module: installed apps such as Microsoft Teams, Netflix, Paint and Skype with their size, install date, version and publisher.
Trace installations for a perfect removal later
Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable's Real-Time Installation Monitor records every change a setup program makes into a trace log, which Revo can use later to remove that program completely. For programs you didn't trace, the Logs Database holds trace logs that Revo's team made for many common programs. Trace logs can be exported and imported on another computer.
Installation monitoring in progress: the bar across the top tells you not to run anything else until you stop the trace and save the log. This is the installable Pro 5.0.1 in trial mode.
Hunter Mode and the extra tools
Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable's Hunter Mode replaces its window with a target icon you drag onto any program window, desktop shortcut or tray icon to uninstall it or stop it starting with Windows, which is handy for a program you can't find in any list. Since version 5.5.0 it fully supports Windows apps. The Tools section adds an Autorun Manager, Junk Files Cleaner, Windows Tools, History Cleaner, Evidence Remover and Unrecoverable Delete.
A backup behind every removal
Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable creates a System Restore point (if the option is on) and a full Registry backup at the start of every uninstall, sends deleted files and folders to the Recycle Bin, and records every deleted Registry item in its Backup Manager, where you can restore all of it or just the items you pick.
The Backup Manager: restore points for each uninstall, grouped by date, with the number of Registry items and files saved, and the extra cleaning tools listed on the left.
Benefits
The point of Portable is one license that follows you. The installable Pro is licensed per PC, so cleaning up ten family or client machines would mean ten licenses or a lot of activating and deactivating. With Portable you pay once and carry it. It also leaves nothing on the host PC, which matters when the machine isn't yours. And because removals are backed by restore points and a Registry backup, you can be thorough on someone else's computer without much risk of breaking it.
Real-World Uses
- A freelance PC technician keeps it on a USB stick and removes adware, trial software and stubborn security suites from client laptops without installing anything.
- The family IT person clears out the bloatware on parents' and children's PCs at the holidays with one license.
- A small-office admin uses Forced Uninstall to finish removing a half-uninstalled accounting program that keeps blocking its reinstall.
- A software tester traces an installation, tests the program, then uses the trace log to remove every trace before the next build.
- Anyone setting up a new PC uses Quick Uninstall to strip a queue of preinstalled apps in one pass.
Who It's For, and Who Should Skip It
Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable is for people who work on more than one Windows PC: technicians, IT helpers, and anyone who maintains the family's computers. TechRadar's verdict was that it's mainly for "enterprises with many computers", and that's the right way to think about it.
Skip it if you only ever clean up your own PC: the installable Revo Uninstaller Pro is cheaper, comes with a 30-day trial, and does exactly the same things. Skip it if you only need the occasional uninstall with a leftover scan, since the free Revo Uninstaller covers that. And there's no Mac or Linux version.
Usage Guide
- Try before you buy. Download and install the 30-day trial of Revo Uninstaller Pro to check it handles the programs you need to remove.
- Buy and download Portable. After purchase, download Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable and activate it once with your license.
- Copy it to a USB flash drive. Move the activated program folder to your stick and run it from there on any PC.
- Uninstall. In All Programs, select a program and click Uninstall. Keep the restore point and Registry backup options on, let the program's own uninstaller run, then choose a scanning mode and review the leftovers before you delete them.
- For stubborn programs, use Forced Uninstall, or drag the Hunter Mode target onto the program's window or tray icon.
- If something goes wrong, restore the deleted Registry items from the Backup Manager, or the files from the Recycle Bin.
Where it falls short
- Deep cleaning can hit the wrong thing. Windows Report warned that "some tools carry the risk of accidentally deleting important user data, if not used with caution." Review the leftover list before deleting, and be careful with Evidence Remover and Unrecoverable Delete, which are meant to make files unrecoverable.
- Not every trace goes. Windows Report found it might not remove a browser extension's settings, and that Hunter Mode might not catch programs that run silently in the background.
- Quick Uninstall trades control for speed: you can't, for example, choose the order the programs are removed in.
- Some users find it sluggish. One 3-star Trustpilot reviewer called the interface "laggy", and another found the licensing "very confusing".
- Windows only, as every reviewer points out.
What Users Say
TechRadar: reviewed the Portable edition, 4 out of 5
Stefan Ionescu reviewed Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable itself for TechRadar (May 2022, version 5). His reasons to buy: "Cost-effective", "User-friendly", "Unlimited use" and "Supports batch uninstallation". His reasons to avoid: "Lacks additional features" and "No free trial version".
On using it: "Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable is pretty convenient to use, thanks to its installation mode. Instead of installing it separately on every computer, you only do that once on a USB drive and plug that drive into every computer you want to use it on. This method of use saves a lot of time for PC owners."
His verdict: "Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable is a proper uninstaller, mainly for enterprises with many computers. Its support for unlimited use makes it worthwhile and a good bang for your buck."
MSPoweruser: 8.5 out of 10
Pranav Bhardwaj (updated October 24, 2025) scored Revo Uninstaller 9/10 for interface and features, 8.5 for performance and 8 for support and pricing. "Among the many uninstallers I've used, the sleek and straightforward UI of Revo Uninstaller remains a standout for me."
He also scanned the installer on VirusTotal: "70 out of 71 engines marked it safe." His cons were the free version's limits and that it's "only developed for Windows OS".
Windows Report: 7.5 out of 10
Vlad Turiceanu tested Revo Uninstaller Pro hands-on (updated April 9, 2025), removing Driver Easy with Forced Uninstall: "Within a few seconds, Revo uninstalled Driver Easy from my system. However, I recommend using this feature as a last option after trying the standard uninstall process."
On the interface: "I've used several uninstallers to date. However, in my opinion, Revo stands out from its competitors because of its easy-to-navigate interface." He took points off for the risk of deleting data by mistake and for limits such as Hunter Mode missing background programs, and gave it "a solid 7.5/10".
Trustpilot: 4.8 out of 5 from 317 reviews
Revo's Trustpilot profile is overwhelmingly positive: 93% of reviews give 5 stars and 3% give 1 star. These excerpts were read through a summarizer, so treat the wording as close but not guaranteed exact.
alsay (5 stars, October 2026): "Gets rid of stubborn programs that leave so many traces behind on standard uninstalling."
Brian Scatter Brain Streams (5 stars, May 2026): "It makes removing old programs way easier than the normal Windows uninstall process"
Richard S. (5 stars, August 2026), on removing a trojan: "the Revo Uninstaller Pro trial did the job quickly and completely. Very pleased."
Luis Wilhelmi (5 stars, January 2026): "support was insanely fast and resolved the issue"
Swastik Choudhary (3 stars, October 2025): "The interface is laggy which makes navigating and searching programs a bit difficult."
Darwin Jimerson (3 stars, July 2025): "Licensing is very confusing. Please clarify."
Ed Renaltner (2 stars, April 2023): "Revo Uninstaller can't see Microsoft Edge on my computer to uninstall it, although it is in my files."
Across reviews, people praise the same things: it finds leftovers Windows misses, it removes programs that won't uninstall normally, the interface is easy to find your way around, and support answers quickly. The complaints are smaller and scattered: occasional sluggishness, confusion about licensing, and the odd program it couldn't see. For the Portable edition specifically, the one recurring complaint is the missing trial.
Comparisons
Portable vs the installable Revo Uninstaller Pro
The features are identical. The installable Pro is licensed per PC (1, 2, 3 or more), has a 30-day trial, and lists at $24.95 a year for one PC. Portable is licensed per user for unlimited computers, runs from a USB stick without writing to the Registry, has no trial, and lists at $29.95 a year. If you'll use it on more than one PC, Portable is the better buy.
Pro Portable vs the free Revo Uninstaller
The free Revo Uninstaller (which also comes in a free portable version) already scans for leftovers after a normal uninstall, removes Windows apps, and has Hunter Mode and the extra cleaning tools. The Pro editions add Forced Uninstall, Quick/Multiple Uninstall, extended leftover scanning, browser extension removal, real-time installation monitoring with the Logs Database, and the multi-level backup system.

FAQs
Does Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable stop working after two years?
No. Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable keeps working after the two years with the last version released during your subscription. Renewing, at a discount, is only needed if you want newer versions and continued support.
Can I use one Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable license on several PCs?
Yes. Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable is licensed per user, not per computer, so you can run it on as many PCs as you work on. It's meant to be activated once and then run from a USB flash drive, not activated on each computer.
Can colleagues share my Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable license?
No. Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable's unlimited-computers license is for one user. Each technician who needs it should have their own license.
Does Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable leave anything on the computer?
Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable doesn't install and doesn't store information in the Windows Registry. The restore points and backups it creates during an uninstall are part of the cleanup itself, so you can undo a removal.
Does Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable work on Windows 7 and 32-bit PCs?
Yes. Revo Uninstaller Pro 5.5.4 and its Portable edition support 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, 11 and Windows Server, which helps when you're cleaning up older machines.
Can I get a refund for Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable?
Yes. VS Revo Group accepts cancellations and refunds for any reason within 60 days of purchase, which partly makes up for Portable having no trial.
Is Revo Uninstaller safe to use?
Revo Uninstaller is made by VS Revo Group, which has sold it for more than 18 years. MSPoweruser's VirusTotal check found 70 of 71 engines marked the installer safe. Download it only from the vendor, and keep the restore point and Registry backup options on.
System Requirements
- Operating system: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, 11 and Windows Server editions, 32-bit and 64-bit
- Processor: 800 MHz Pentium-compatible or faster
- Memory: 512 MB RAM
- Disk: 85 MB free space
- To carry it: a USB flash drive or other removable drive
Conclusion
Revo Uninstaller Pro Portable is worth it if you look after more than one Windows PC. For a little over $40 you get two years of a well-reviewed uninstaller that removes leftovers and stubborn programs, licensed to you rather than to a machine, and it runs from a USB stick without touching the host's Registry. The one reason to buy it is that per-user license. The main reason not to is that you only have one PC: then the installable Pro does the same job for less, and the free edition may be enough. Since Portable has no trial, test the 30-day Pro trial on your toughest program first.
