system filled with junk programs taking
up fital space and resources are you
frequently assaulted by adware
installations that take place without
your consent if that's the case the
following program may be of interest to
you this is Leo from file critic and
you're watching the review of Revo
uninstaller Pro
after a very simple and easy
installation process Revo uninstaller
Pro starts monitoring your
system and basically what it does is
every time you install a new program it
is going to check all the modifications
that the program is going to make and it
keeps all of those modifications saved
so that when you want to uninstall the
program instead of just running the
default uninstaller for the program Revo
uninstaller will scan all those
locations for any leftover traces and it
will help you delete them for example
this is a pretty clutter system I do not
need all these applications on my
desktop so I can use Revo one installer
Pro to get rid of these programs forever
now this feature is especially useful
when you've got adware or spyware
programs because some of them are very
resistant to removal so even if you run
their uninstall or try to uninstall them
using the windows uninstall function
they will still have a lot of Tres left
over and sometimes can still spy on your
data so in those cases um something like
this is a must have now they have three
different scanning modes Save which
means they'll be careful about what to
delete and what not to delete this way
you're totally sure that you know none
of your other files have been modified
that might not have been associated with
the program and then there's Advanced
and then there's
moderate now as you can see there are
quite a few registry keys that this
program left over now when the
uninstaller finished it should have
deleted these but it didn't but
thankfully Revo one installer Pro was
able to
detect these leftover registry key
values we even have um some leftover
files as you can see boost system dll so
many dll files even the executable none
of these were removed but they should
have been so we're just going to select
all of these and uh delete
them so now we know that our uninstall
was completely successful uccessful and
all those different items were
removed rev uninstaller Pro also has a
unique Hunter mode where you can just
even if you cannot locate or see the
file in uh your list of programs you can
basically drag the file icon and um
that'll help you remove stuff you can
also do a force uninstall which is
useful if you have U partial installs or
failed installs which may not have the
complete uninstaller so you may have
issues while trying to remove them so
instead of doing a manual delete you can
do a forced uninstall which is a much
safer and better way to do
it so let's try out Hunter mode we go
into view and uh there you can click on
Hunter mode so now we have this sniper
Crosshair on the screen and what we can
do is we can drag this onto any window
of any open application or any icon or
any file and what it'll do is it'll give
you these options so you can directly
uninstall the program even if it doesn't
have an uninstaller registered in
the remove programs
list you can also do this for
applications that are you know running
like let's say I don't like this
application let's first get rid of of
this uh previous file as you can see it
did leave some stuff
behind going to delete
these and now let's try Hunter mode on
this
application and once again we're going
to go with the moderate scan
and as you can see this program is not
very friendly and it leaves a ton of
traces we're going to select and delete
all of
them as you can see again a ton of files
were left over and um if we didn't have
Revo uninstaller Pro we just did a
regular uninstall all this stuff is
still going to be in your system
but now thankfully this program is gone
for good let's use Hunter mode to
eliminate one more
program and not only can you uninstall
stuff you can also stop them from
automatically starting if that's what
they're doing you can kill the process
you can kill and delete the process so a
whole lot of options so if you're an
advanced user and you like to have
control over what's going on or you want
to manually take care of some annoying
program you can also do
that and by the way every time Revo
uninstaller Pro uninstalls something it
also creates a system restore point so
if something does go wrong you can
always restore your system to before the
uninstalled
procedure in my experience Revo
uninstaller does do a pretty good job of
removing registry keys especially and
those are really hard to manually find
and delete of course um the files are
easy to find if you go into U your
program files you'll usually see any
leftover files here and there but um in
terms of um registry keys it's a much
more difficult process and there's
always a risk when you do it manually if
you delete a registry key that is
important your system can stop starting
you can have all sorts of issues so
there it's really handy even for an
advanced user and um this program comes
with a ton of other features bells and
whistles you can um do a lot of
stuff we're going to exit Hunter mode
and go back to our usual full
interface and uh Force St install as I
said can be useful if you have U
programs that are partially installed if
you had a failed installation and it
also comes with a ton of utilities like
your auto run manager where you can see
all your all the stuff that's starting
automatically you can check out your
junk files you can clean your junk files
although I have seen other tools that do
a better job at this than Revo
uninstaller but that's also a nice
addition to
have and you have easy access to all
your windows tools that's just a
shortcut
thing and it even has some specific
tools to clean specific applications
like it has one for Microsoft Office so
if you have something um you have
Microsoft Office for a long time and you
have a ton of crap taking up space on
your hard drive you can use this to
clean it
up and they even have a dis wiper
so as you probably know when you delete
files just using Windows even if you
permanently delete them or delete them
from your recycle bin they still stay on
the storage and if you completely want
to wipe out that area you can use a tool
like this of course there are other
third-party programs that can do this
thing but it's nice to have all these
features in one package and that's what
I like about Revo uninstaller Pro their
free program doesn't come with all the
bells and whistles but it's still pretty
useful if you're an advanced user or
you're a novice user this program works
for both types which is also really nice
some things that I would like them to
improve is maybe the way they they
currently have the user interface
instead of having so many different
things open up in in different tabs they
could just have uh you know this is what
I don't really like the user interface
is not very attractive they could have
like big tabs over here so that it' be
much easier for an noice user to
navigate it honestly when I first
started using this program it took me a
while to understand how the user
interface functions so that is one
downside that they should probably
improve but apart from that it's a
pretty good program so go ahead try it
