AnyTrans for Windows: An iPhone Manager That Does What iTunes Won't
AnyTrans for Windows is a $59.99 one-time-purchase PC program from iMobie that moves photos, music, messages and other iPhone data between your devices, your PC and iCloud, backs up iPhones, and migrates an old phone to a new iPhone. It suits Windows users who find the Apple Devices app and iTunes too limited, and it covers unlimited devices on one PC.
On Windows, iTunes will sync and back up an iPhone, but it won't let you drag out one album, print a text conversation or browse a backup item by item. AnyTrans fills those gaps from a single window.

What we checked: iMobie's update history listing Windows version 8.9.15 from September 18, 2026, the 9.3 MB setup file from iMobie's server, and the price of $59.99 with no renewal on the order page, on November 6, 2026. We didn't install it or connect an iPhone.
Before you buy
- Buyer reviews are poor. AnyTrans's Trustpilot page showed 2.6 out of 5 from 29 reviews on October 26, 2026, with complaints about features that didn't work, support and refunds. Run the trial on the exact task you need.
- Keep your connection on during setup. The download is only a 9.3 MB installer.
- The trial is short. Three days, and it locks Phone to iPhone and restores, the features many people buy it for.
- Windows needs Apple's device driver. Install iTunes or Apple's driver so the PC can see your iPhone.

Overview
AnyTrans keeps its tools in a left sidebar under three headings. Content Management holds Device Manager, iCloud Manager and iTunes Library. Backup & Migrate holds Phone Switcher, Backup Manager and Social Messages Manager. Utilities holds HEIC Converter, Ringtone Maker, App Downloader and Screen Mirroring.
Device Manager with an iPhone connected: storage use, media shortcuts and Quick Start tools.
Features
Move 27 types of iPhone data to and from the PC
AnyTrans for Windows manages photos, music, videos, messages, contacts, notes, Safari bookmarks, books, voice memos and more, 27 types in all by iMobie's count. Pick items and send them to the PC, to the device or to another iPhone. The Content to PC button exports the essentials in one click.
Save and print message threads
AnyTrans for Windows opens your iPhone's conversations with date filters and search, then saves or prints them with their attachments. That's useful for keeping a record of a conversation, something iTunes can't do.
The Messages view: a date range, conversation list, and the To PC and Print buttons.
Browse and export Safari bookmarks and other small data
AnyTrans for Windows reaches the small things Apple's tools hide. Bookmarks, for example, can be added, deleted, copied to another device or exported as a CSV or HTML file.
Safari bookmarks with the export menu open, offering .csv and .html.
Switch to a new iPhone, including from Android
AnyTrans for Windows's Phone Switcher copies data from an old iPhone to a new one, or from an Android 5.0 or later phone to an iPhone, including WhatsApp. You can choose what moves instead of cloning the entire phone.
Scheduled backups you can browse
AnyTrans for Windows's Backup Manager makes backups that, iMobie says, can run automatically and wirelessly on a schedule. You can open a backup and look inside it, so you aren't forced to restore everything to get one photo.
Handy extras
AnyTrans for Windows also includes a Ringtone Maker, a HEIC Converter, Screen Mirroring and an App Downloader. TheSweetBits says some of the minor tools went largely unused, so don't buy it for them.
Real-World Uses
- The new iPhone. Move only your photos, messages and WhatsApp chats, and leave the clutter behind.
- The Android switcher. Bring chats and contacts across when moving to iPhone.
- The full phone. Move years of photos to a PC drive by album, then free up space.
- The old iPod. Pull a music collection off a device iTunes wants to erase.
- The paper trail. Print a conversation with a landlord or contractor, with dates.
Who It's For, and Who Should Skip It
AnyTrans for Windows fits iPhone owners on a PC who move data around often, and families who can share unlimited devices on one computer.
Skip it if you just need a basic backup: Apple's free tools cover that. If you upgrade phones every few years and rarely export anything, it's hard to justify. And if you own a Mac as well, the license covers one computer, so a second one needs the Family Plan.
Usage Guide
- Run the setup file and follow the installer.
- Connect your iPhone with a USB cable and tap Trust on the phone.
- Pick a tool from the sidebar, or a Quick Start shortcut in Device Manager.
- Select items and choose To PC, To Device or another target.
- When you're ready to buy, click Activate and paste the code from your order email.
Where it falls short
- Restores and migrations draw the most complaints. A Trustpilot reviewer wrote "The backup works but won't restore", so test a restore during your 60-day refund window, not after.
- Support gets mixed marks. Some reviewers say tickets went unanswered, while others report a good refund experience.
- Apple's limits apply. TheSweetBits notes that "Apple continues tightening access to certain categories of iOS data", so what works today can change with an iOS update.
- Most jobs need a cable. Reviewers disagree about wireless features, so plan on USB.
What Users Say
Trustpilot: 2.6 out of 5 from 29 reviews of AnyTrans
Rating as seen on October 26, 2026. These excerpts were read through a summarizer, so the wording is close but not guaranteed exact.
- "The backup works but won't restore. What's the use then?" Poway Bowie Won, 1 star, September 2023
- "AnyTrans is a great app when it works but if you need any help and submit a ticket you're out of luck." Rene Wells, 1 star, May 2023
- "I am giving it 2 stars as it did the job I bought it for, moving WhatsApp messages from my Android phone to my iPhone." Will, March 2024
- "Could not install but got my money back no problem after contacting them and explaining to them what the problem was." Lorraine, 4 stars, November 2024
- "AnyTrans honored their lifetime license, which I purchased in 2022." Gorgeous Ruth, 5 stars, November 2025
Reviewers
- TheSweetBits (updated July 15, 2026, used on Macs): "AnyTrans remains one of the best all-in-one iPhone management applications available for Mac and Windows." The same review warns: "If you only upgrade your phone every few years and rarely export data, the software may be difficult to justify."
- MacBreeze, 4.6 out of 5, from a site that earns a commission on sales: "AnyTrans is a powerful iPhone manager offering backup, media transfer, and app management."
The pattern: reviewers who use it on a working setup praise the design and control. Buyers whose task fails, most often a restore, are left frustrated. Most of the detailed reviews come from Mac users, so Windows users have fewer first-hand reports to go on.
Comparisons
AnyTrans vs iTunes or Apple Devices
Apple's free apps back up and sync, and that's enough for many people. AnyTrans adds selective exports, browsable backups, message printing and WhatsApp moves.
AnyTrans vs PhoneRescue
AnyTrans manages data that exists. PhoneRescue, also from iMobie, tries to recover data that's lost. You don't need both unless you need both jobs.

System Requirements
- Windows 11, 10, 8, 7 or Vista (64-bit)
- iPhone, iPad or iPod with iOS 5 to iOS 27; Android 5.0 or later for moving to iPhone
- Pentium IV 2.4 GHz or above, 512 MB RAM
- 100 MB of disk space, plus room for exports and backups
- 1024x768 display or above, Apple device driver
Conclusion
AnyTrans for Windows does far more with an iPhone than anything Apple ships for the PC, and at $59.99 once it's fair value for anyone who moves data around regularly. The reason to buy it is that breadth of control. The reason for caution is its buyer reviews, with failed restores and slow support among the complaints. Try the trial on your real task, test a restore, and use the 60-day refund window if it falls short.
