Best FREE video editing programs of 2015 - 2016

A short video listing I made on the top five FREE video-editing applications, in my opinion. I want to help out all you beginning filmmakers, who can't afford the expensive software. These are ones that I have personally used and tested. If you feel I left anything out, please comment.

hey guys so today I'm going to be doing
a quick video on the five best free
video editing applications in my opinion
now when i first started in video i
tried pretty much every free program on
the market so I've made a list and it's
based on my own experience
so these are the five that I personally
consider the best of the best windows
movie maker
I really don't want to include this
program on the list but it would be
wrong not to
I have to admit I'm not the biggest fan
of Windows Movie Maker anything more
than the simplest of tasks is a pain in
the ass to do in this program
however it is on this list because a lot
of you probably already have it
installed on your computers and despite
its many flaws
it actually works pretty decently for a
very very basic cutting and rendering
program
it isn't nearly as bug is a lot of the
other free programs and finally it's got
a pretty clean and easy to navigate user
interface making it ideal for the
beginning editor so because of those
reasons he secures a place on this list
barely
I movie just like the last program a lot
of you probably already have this
program installed on your systems
I movie is the Apple equivalent to
windows movie maker
I've always been a Windows user so i
don't have much experience with our
movie
what I've learned about it it's a fairly
good program though it's not nearly as
fully featured as Apple's final cut pro
they've managed to pack a ton of
features into a program that is included
free on every new mac i would definitely
say it's a good option for all you Mac
users number three
Sinha lira I had a linux boonie system a
couple years ago and this is one program
I wish I'd known about back then
cinema and I really hope I'm pronouncing
that right is a linux exclusive video
editing application and is one of the
most powerful on this list
the user interface is similar to that of
other professional programs such as
premier pro or Avid Media Composer it is
capable of advanced editing as well as
compositing and contains many
professional features you'd expect to
find in a high-end editor so even if you
don't have a Linux system
I definitely say the software is worth
dual booting for blender blender would
definitely be the Swiss Army knife of
programs while it's mainly a 3d
animation program
don't let that fool you blenders got a
robust video editing and compositing
toolset that's hard to compete with the
node based compositors extremely
powerful allowing for the creation of
advanced visual effects and while it's
built in Italy isn't quite up to the
same level yet
that's the wonderful thing about blender
there are always improving new versions
of the program are released extremely
quickly and there are new and exciting
features in every build while it's
somewhat of a difficult program to learn
once you get used to it you'll find
there's very little you can't do with it
if you don't believe me check out tears
of Steel a short film created by the
blender foundation which was entirely
created using the software
it does a really great job of showing
what blenders truly capable of
and it's pretty cool on its own merit if
that works looks like a professional
editing software that might be because
it is originally released in the early
nineties that works has been used in
countless productions
this is the software that has been used
by some of the best editors of the last
20 years it has a steep learning curve
but just search round and you can find a
lot of great tutorials for it's
currently on windows with a beta out for
linux and mac OS version to be released
soon
so definitely check the software out I
honestly could not believe that the
software was free so definitely check it
out
