Hi everyone. In this tutorial, I'm going
to show you how to import data from a
basic Excel file into SQL Server.
First of all, thank you for installing
our software.
Upon the installation,
uh you will see uh this screen. On the
left, you see a list of projects.
And the default demo project has a lot
of useful tutorials,
which I would recommend uh spending time
uh looking at them and under standing is
possible.
So, the first step we need to do, we
need to create new project.
Do that by clicking right click.
And new.
What uh
new project.
So, we're going to be loading data from
uh Excel, so we need to create a
directory.
Call it source.
Uh this is a directory where uh our data
is actually stored.
And
some
data source. Okay.
Start.
So, the next thing we need to do, we
need to create SQL Server connection.
It usually takes
a while because it is getting a list of
SQL Servers from our network.
So, call it uh
new data.
And our database is demo.
So,
uh the next step is we create a
transformation group.
Call it ITG.
And after that, we create a
transformation. We call it
people.
Transformation.
Excel file looks like this.
We just list the people. It's a randomly
generated
and we have a table.
Looks like this. It has already got some
data.
And we will truncate data.
So, we delete the validated because
we're not going to validate our data in
this example.
And we need to set our reader type to
Excel.
We select our source connection.
And we will set We will select Excel
file.
For people.
And we need to call our format the
source. We just auto format it.
And we set field names to
line number one.
Next step is to set our writer
connection
properties. So, again, it is just the
server.
Give my data.
Table is people.
So.
And we can also truncate the data while
loading it, before loading.
We just
truncate table.
Okay.
Uh the last step is actual mapping.
Uh we have a fantastic tool called Auto
Map. We just click this button.
Click map now.
And everything is mapped for us.
On the right, we have a lot of
transformation functions. At the moment,
we have about 500 transformation
functions. Plus, we have validation
functions and we also have embedded uh
language similar to Pascal.
And uh
also to also supports Python.
So, we're loading data into database.
So, we need to format date field
uh to make sure that it is in standard
ODBC format.
Uh we use uh
date format function for it.
I will explain in a second uh what is
standard ODBC format. In fact, you will
see it.
So, okay. So, it seems
this uh
DD MM and YYYY. Okay.
Good.
Another very useful feature is preview.
So, that's
uh
this format is a standard ODBC format.
If your data is already in this format,
which happens most of the time when you
pull data from the data from the
database, there is
no need to use date format function. It
just works.
This screen allows us to do some
testing. For example, we can enter some
date. See, it is failing
because we're saying that on parameters
are set to null.
Or if it's set to current date, it's
okay.
All right.
Now what we need to do is something.
Using uh
What we need to do, we need to Yeah.
Yeah, it is working now.
Uh
All we needed to do is to restart the
process. Okay. So, next step uh and the
last step
is uh actually running the
transformation.
As you can see, it only took 4 seconds
to load uh
uh 100,000 uh
rows from Excel file.
Our software supports a wide range of
connections. You can use text, JSON,
databases, etc.
It feels uh it also has embedded uh
workflow designer.
Show some basic
uh for example, check date.
So, it's basic
workflow designer.
It also has schedule, version control,
event monitor, and I can put cases
execution logs, and it also runs in the
services.
All right.
Thank you for watching.

us, and one of us will connect remotely
and help you.

subscribe. Thank you. Bye.
