let me show how easy it is to create
basic
transformation I have already done some
basic setup so I have created two
directories one one is for the source
another is for the buffer where I will
be saving the transformation
result to create new transformation we
select
uh transformation group and click new
let's SC it
tr1 and here's our transformation so the
transformation has a properties box
which allow us to rename it for
example here
new it also has a object ID which is
very useful for running transformation
from a command line
and default date
format we're not going to use validate
object so we can just delete it by
pressing control
delete then we link read to
Transformer SM object little
bit next step is to set up connection
details our data source text and the
coniss name is the
source click again then we select source
file here it is customer
sales let's reformat Source G little bit
just click Auto format
G and let's take uh the field
names from the line number
one so we just click set field
names do there so the next step is to uh
set right kind
and we can uh copy uh Fields definition
from the
reader just click this
button click okay so here we have exact
copy and we need to say that our wrer
type is
text and we will be saving data to the
buffer and we need to say that we're
going to overwrite it want to create a
header
is
delimited so it this utfa
format and we say that it is St in buff
directory and we'll call it
result do
CC click Open click
okay so what we need to do now we need
to map
uh the fields
this can be easily done by using drag
and drop like that or we can use autom
of future which which saves a lot of
time just click this
button I can see everything is
bued and now we are ready to run our
first
transformation just press this run
button all done
here we can see total number of Records
all lines
created number of lines read number of
record
transformed and if we click on the right
top and we click refresh you can see our
