What Each Program Does
east-tec DisposeSecure: wipe whole drives
east-tec DisposeSecure erases entire hard drives and partitions from a bootable USB/CD, from Windows or over the network, using methods that meet the DoD 5220.22-M standard, and produces wiping reports.
The east-tec DisposeSecure 5 Windows wizard: erase a local drive or create a bootable disk.
east-tec Eraser: everyday privacy cleaning
east-tec Eraser erases browser history and cookies, the traces of over 300 programs, temporary files and previously deleted files on the PCs you keep using.
east-tec Eraser's Erase Deleted Data module: wipe free space, file slack, deleted names and the Recycle Bin.
Who It's For, and Who Should Skip It
Good fit: small businesses and households that both clean the PCs they use and periodically dispose of old ones: Eraser for daily privacy, DisposeSecure when a machine leaves.
- Skip it if you never dispose of PCs. Eraser alone is $39.95.
- Skip it if you also want encryption. Total Security adds InvisibleSecrets and SafeBit for $10 more.
Where it falls short
- DisposeSecure's age. Its boot environment dates from 2016 and its published drive limit is 1 TB.
- Support complaints. Recent Trustpilot reviews say East-Tec's support is slow.
What Users Say
Reviews of the included programs
AppTrap (September 29, 2025) rated east-tec Eraser 9 out of 10 but noted a "Dated UI". Tech Advisor (2014) found Eraser "deletes and wipes amazingly thoroughly". For DisposeSecure, East-Tec quotes CNET ("a powerful and competent tool") and Northern Health, which uses it because "it is accepted by the British Columbia Government for data erasure." We found no independent review of the bundle itself.
Trustpilot
East-Tec's Trustpilot page (east-tec.com) showed a TrustScore of 2.8 out of 5 from 7 reviews on October 31, 2026, and the reviews shown there are mostly about support. Finn Johansen (3 stars, January 2025): "East-tec Eraser won't work properly with exFAT"
FAQs
What is included in east-tec Total Privacy?
east-tec Total Privacy includes east-tec DisposeSecure, for up to 20 PCs, and east-tec Eraser, for $59.95 a year.
Is east-tec Total Privacy cheaper than buying the two programs?
Yes. east-tec Total Privacy is $59.95 a year against $69.45 for the DisposeSecure and Eraser plans bought separately, and it covers 20 PCs instead of 10 in DisposeSecure.
Should I get Total Privacy or Total Security from East-Tec?
Pick east-tec Total Security if you also want file encryption (InvisibleSecrets) or encrypted drives (SafeBit); it's only $10 more a year. Total Privacy suits you if you only need cleaning and drive disposal.
Do East-Tec plans renew automatically?
Yes. East-Tec sells its programs as yearly plans ("Yearly Subscription" at checkout) with a year of updates and support, and the plan renews each year unless you cancel it.
Is east-tec support responsive?
East-Tec support gets mixed marks. East-Tec's own testimonial pages praise it, but several recent Trustpilot reviewers (2025 and 2026) say their support requests went unanswered or were slow. Test the trial before you buy, so you only need support for licensing.
Conclusion
east-tec Total Privacy makes sense if you need both everyday privacy cleaning and occasional whole-drive disposal. It saves $9.50 a year over buying both and doubles DisposeSecure's PC allowance.
If you might want encryption too, Total Security is the better deal for $10 more. Test DisposeSecure's boot disk on your hardware first.
