Barcoding and using Barcode Scanners in inFlow Inventory Software

Barcoding and using scanners with inFlow inventory software is simple and easy. This video will show you how to add a barcode number to a product so inFlow can recognize it when you scan the item in.

Once a product is assigned a number, you can use the scanner to add that item instead of having to manually searching for it. For example, if you were making a sales order, you could quickly and accurately scan the items you want to sell to a customer.

as simple as barco recording is already
a part of the program it's as simple as
saving the bar code into your product
entry so that info will recognize your
stock when you scan it the interaction
between the inflow in your bar codes is
a lot like a translation specifically if
you think about barcodes as a foreign
language your scanner would be the
translator essentially the process looks
something like this
the foreign language is read by the
translator who provides the translation
more specifically the bar code is read
by the scanner which provides the
numbers so the active scanning the
barcode will translate the barcode into
numbers which inflow can then use to
choose your item this process is the
same no matter the module of the program
in which you complete the action however
before you can use the bar code entry to
take orders and other operations you
need to set up the bar codes in your
product information to do this you must
first navigate to the product entry
screen and select the product you're
going to scan choose the extra info tab
and place your cursor in the field
marked barcode once you've done this
scan the products barcode with your
scanner this will produce a set of
numbers which you can now save in your
product entry now that you've set up
your barcodes you're ready to use your
scanner in sales orders you will now be
able to scan your product and have the
program choose the appropriate item
since it's now able to recognize the
numbers that your scanner is providing
what's more scanning an item more than
once
we'll simply increase the quantity
rather than adding a new line to your
order since info will recognize that the
product is already listed you can also
scan products into your purchase orders
if you're attempting to quickly create a
purchase order in addition you can use
your scanner to populate the receiving
tab when accepting stock shipments or
search your product listings and there
you have it
one saved in your records you can use
your barcode scanner to select products
quickly rather than searching through
your product list
manually using a scanner will save you
time and effort and help you make the
