Outlook 2007 - How To Export and Import Address Book Contacts To A CSV File

This video will show you click-by-click how to export your Microsoft Outlook 2007 Address Book to a .csv file and also edit the file in Microsoft Excel 2007 and import the modified file back into Outlook.

1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2007
2. Go to File on the menu bar, and select Import and Export.
3. In the Import and Export Wizard window, select the Export to a file option.
4. Click Next.
5. In the Export a File window, select the Comma Separated Values (Windows) option.
6. Click Next.
7. In the Export a File window, select Contacts as the folder to export from.
8. Click Next.
9. In the Export a File window, click Browse and select a location to save your *.csv file on your computer (e.g. your desktop).
10. Give it a name and press Save, followed by Next.
11. In the Export a File window, insure that the actions are to export "Contacts" from folder: Contacts.
12. Click Finish when you are done, and your address book will be exported from Outlook 2007.
13. Celebrate.

Hello and welcome. I'm going to show you how to export your contacts from Outlook 2007
to a .CSV file which is Comma Separated
Values.
First you want to go to your contacts,
and I've got four of them in here for us to work with.
Go to File,
Import and Export...
Export to a file
Comma Separated Values (Windows)
Contacts - make sure that's selected.
That's your export from folder.
Then save your file to the place of your choosing.
Click Finish.
So now..
On my desktop it made a little file for me here which I can open in Excel.
And here's my contacts right here.
Optionally, you can add them..
We'll put Peter Griffin in here.
All of that same information is all in these different fields here.
Anything you had in your contact list there.
Then when you're finished or you don't want to edit it just close out of it.
I want to save changes.
It's going to ask you
that it's going to contain features that are not compatible
with CSV do you want to keep the workbook in this format
You want to click Yes.
So now..
You can go back into Outlook
and do the reverse.
Import and Export...
Import from another program or file.
Comma Separated Values (Windows)
There is your desktop file..
Allow duplicates to be created
No, we want to replace everything with the items imported.
I don't want a bunch of duplicates so it should add one more contact now.
It's going to Contacts
and Finish.

Once you got that CSV file you can import it into your email client
of choice or back into Outlook.
