ok so i wanted to answer some of the
most common questions from my last video
on how to fold a book
photoshop stripes
I've got here pattern for ericsson that
one book that we folded this one has 600
pages little over 600 pages and i used
this template
ok and I actually did hold some pages in
between the letters like down almost to
the spine but it really didn't make any
difference
so for this book and the city going to
ignore
from now on just ignore the spaces
between the letters these blank spaces
and you know the word well be legible
even without any added pages for will be
between them
so for this book this book is a 747
pages so i get a lot more folds so i
made the stripe smaller and the way I
mean the strike smaller was I played
with the way the filter and I also
increase the resolution of the the
picture if you start with a picture with
your your file at a 72 DPI it's going to
be possible to make a lot of stripes so
increase your resolution to at least 200
DPI
that's four inch and they can get to
play around with the wave filter and get
a lot more stripes
so this is
the template that I music and somebody
wanted to know what happens when you get
to this when you have like three levels
right here we have two levels two levels
we have two levels it's it's a lot
easier you're just going to take for
example the top when you do all the
white spaces in the bottom you do all
the black spaces and just mark you know
where you did it for this time just go
do the first one and then down the next
one over done in the next 10 room then
it's going to be three over next next
episodes every third one up here every
third one here every third one here

see the letter one it's all folded up
so I wanted to know what is the little
tick mark up here on this one I drew an
orange where he wanted the top hole to
be but it still shows up after the book
is folded so trying to do away with that
by just making a crease appear and i
used a blade and I just went over it
several times so that i can see when I'm
holding a little tick mark at the top
and then in the bottom just a pencil
mark and i can see easily at the bottom
were twofold to hit
that pencil mark right there you don't
want to go all the way to the spine
because the book will just be completely
wide-open you can't close it up like
that
I tried it once so just tell him from my
experience
what happened i'm going to start folding
this and just put into this page and in
order to get that top ledge right here
you need to fold the top over so you get
the top ledge and that's gonna hook onto
the top of the page and make it
consistent all the way across
so I'm going to take this and a little
lip

the bottom
part all the way up there
it is kind of hard to do at the very
beginning of the word here
sit down nicely and you could take mark
when you fold it

because if you doing just a monogram
you're going to want a good at least 200
holes for that one letter but i would go
and not 200 Foles a hundred fifty fold
so 300 page book
it's going to be a minimum that you're
going to want for that and just do the
white space

don't worry so much about reaching this
point as this is the important part here
if you're off on the bottom and top that
does not really matter for the purposes
of having an old letter U notice up here
is that it's a little bit crooked but it
doesn't really matter
you can see that it up there

thinner the page the easier it is to
fold
but also the more folds are going to
need

it's getting a little difficult to give
this piece of paper all the way back
here so I'm just going to trim off part
of it

so now we are done and there's a little
bit of a problem here for one the
softcover doesn't work so i put pieces
of cardboard on the front inside of the
front and back cover
but then we have a bunch of pages left
over here and none at the beginning so
to fix that
not to worry it is fixable
I'm just going to take some of these not
all not half even just some of these cut
them out and glue them
this side here assuming you're not
getting this book to be read it won't
matter in fact doesn't matter because
this is the index anyway
