Hey everyone, if you've ever had this
amazing idea for a website but just
thought, "Ugh, [sighs] the code." then
you are in exactly the right place.
Today we're taking a first look at
WYSIWYG Web Builder, a really powerful
tool that helps you build awesome
websites without having to write a
single line of code. Let's dive in. So
let's just get right to the point.
You've got an idea for a website, maybe
a business, a portfolio, a blog, but the
thought of learning HTML, CSS,
JavaScript, it just feels like a huge
wall, right? Well, that's the exact
problem this software is built to solve.
Okay, first things first. Before you can
build anything cool, you got to know
your way around the workshop. So let's
get oriented with this creative space
cuz this is where all the magic is going
to happen. Right in the middle of your
screen, that big open area, that's the
workspace. Think of it as your digital
canvas. And the best part is, what you
see is exactly what you get. The way you
arrange text, images, videos, that's
precisely how it's going to look on the
final website. No guesswork, no coding.
You're just designing visually. Right up
at the top of the screen, you've got
this thing called the ribbon. The best
way to think of it is as your smart
command center. And what makes it so
smart? Well, it's these things called
contextual tabs. Basically, the ribbon
knows what you're working on. So like,
if you click on a picture, bam, all your
image editing tools just show up. Click
on a table, poof, there are all your
table tools. It's awesome. It just gives
you what you need right when you need
it.
And here it is, the toolbox. This thing
is packed with everything you could
possibly need. Text boxes, images,
forms, you name it. But check this out,
my favorite part is the search filter.
Instead of digging through menus, you
can just type what you want, like photo
gallery, and boom, the tool you need
just pops right up. It's so, so fast.
And using it, it couldn't be easier.
Seriously, you just pick what you want
from the toolbox, click and drag on the
workspace to draw out its size and
position, and let go. And just like
that, your new object is on the page,
ready for you to start tweaking. It's
that simple drag and drop power that
makes this whole thing feel so
intuitive.
Okay, now for a massive shortcut. Let's
talk about blocks. Think about all those
common sections you see on websites all
the time. Instead of building them piece
by piece, blocks are these ready-made,
professionally designed sections you can
just drop right onto your page. It'll
save you a ton of time. Yeah, we're
talking about entire headers, footers,
slick-looking contact forms, or image
galleries. You just drag one onto your
page and it's basically done. But here's
the best part. These aren't just flat
images. You can click on any little
thing inside that block, the text, the
buttons, the pictures, and customize it
completely to make it your own.
The site manager is way more than just a
list of pages. It is, literally, the
architectural plan for your entire
website. It shows you how everything
connects, all your pages, your subpages,
and what's really cool is that the
structure you build here is exactly how
the files are going to be organized on
the web server.
And adding a new page couldn't be
easier. You just pop open the site
manager, click to add a page, give it a
file name, and you're good to go.
But listen up, here is the one
absolutely crucial tip you have to
remember. Your main homepage must be
named index. That's the universal name
that web browsers look for to launch a
site. Don't forget that one.
Now, for organizing the page itself,
you've got the object manager. You know
how it is, sometimes you have a
background image, a logo, and text all
overlapping. The object manager lists
every single one of those elements, so
you can select exactly what you need
without accidentally clicking something
else. You can reorder them, lock things
down so you don't move them, or even
hide stuff just to get it out of the
way. It gives you total control. Now, if
you're the kind of person who likes to
get into the really fine details of an
object, but you hate opening a big
settings menu every single time, you're
going to love the property inspector.
It's this handy floating window that
lets you change an object's properties
in real time. It is absolutely key for
making quick, precise changes. Okay,
we've covered the tools for building our
page and for keeping it organized, but
there's one more fundamental decision
you have to make for every single page
you build, and it really comes down to a
simple trade-off. Do you want total
control, or do you want automatic
flexibility?
So, you basically have two options. You
can choose a fixed layout. This gives
you absolute pixel-perfect control to
put anything exactly where you want it.
It's awesome for designers who have a
very specific vision.
Or, you can use a flexible layout with
grids. This one automatically adapts
your content so it looks great on any
screen, from a tiny phone to a huge
desktop monitor. So, it's a choice,
total pinpoint control versus automatic
responsiveness. And there you have it.
You've seen the workspace, the
blueprint, the building blocks, and all
the tools for making it perfect. The
power to build an amazing website is no
longer locked behind thousands of lines
of code. It's right here, in this
toolbox, waiting for you. So, the only
real question left is, what will you
build first?
