icon. Select your SD card or external
hard drive.
Click the scan button. Once it finishes
scanning, you will be presented with the

duplicate files listed under the all
tab.
There is also an overview.
It's easy to view duplicates by file
type such as image.
You can zoom in or out for better view.
As you can see, the software I'm using
is able to find duplicate files
regardless of file name.
There are also other preview modes.
The software automatically selects
duplicate files for you to easily delete
with one click. In addition, there are
four selection rules for you to choose
from. It's also possible to select or
unselect by hand. Now click the delete
button. By default, the selected files
will be moved to trash. However, in this
case where the files are on an external
storage device, they will be deleted
permanently. Click yes. Now the
duplicate files are gone. It's very
easy.
Here comes a more advanced tutorial. How
to find and delete duplicate files
across external and internal storage. As
you know, in each group of duplicates,
you will need to keep one file and
select the rest to delete. In this
tutorial, I will call the needed file
the reference file.
Here's a scenario. I want to find the
duplicate files between Kingston and the
desktop folder on my Mac. And I want to
make sure that the reference files are
kept in the desktop folder and all the
rest are selected for deletion. Here is
how. Add them for scan.
Click the settings icon.
Go to the selection tab. From the
selection rules, check the rule select
duplicates for removal from prioritized
location.
Set a value. It can be a random value.
The software will keep the reference
files in the location with the lower
value.
Also, you can change other settings if
needed.
The ignore list feature allows you to
exclude folders and files from scanning.
Click scan.
To ensure, you can select the rule
again.
It's easy to verify the selection.
