Project Background:

Sakila example database was originally developed by Mike Hillyer of the MySQL AB documentation team.

Why we did it:

As we add more features and data sources to our ETL software the testing requirements become more complex. One day we realised that we need a standard database for testing of ETL processes.It will allow us to compare Data transformation performance across various databases and our uses make a conscious decision which database to use.
