everyone here i'm really excited to do
another planner related video i'm
actually going to start a series i want
to do a to z a list of ideas for what
you can put in your planner now I didn't
do this as a periscope series earlier in
the year college and career februari and
you guys asked that I do this as a
youtube and i promise i was soon as my
baby was born I was back on my feet and
doing YouTube videos so we are finally
at that place and I'm happy to go
through this list and do it in youtube
format so i'll just be showing you i'm
letter by letter idea by idea how I mark
things in my own planners or giving you
ideas based on things I have seen and i
will only probably get through a couple
of letters each time so be on the
lookout for future videos so let's get
started let me move my list out of the
way
oh and i will link this list is not
original to me i found a version of this
on pinterest i believe it was pretty
pretty pink posies or something pretty
posies and it will for sure be linked in
the description box giving credit where
credit is due
i have added or taken away a couple of
things that she had on her list and this
is by no means an all-inclusive list
there might be some things you think of
that are not on here as well but this is
just to get you thinking so i wanted to
say that before I forgot
whoops when you take care of the baby
just a minute okay
the baby is I hope that and let's get
started the first thing is a tizzy list
is anniversary is now the ice
I promise this is a coincidence and the
only anniversary that I actually track
my planner currently is my own
anniversary which my husband and i
celebrated eight years of marriage just
a couple of days ago and you can see
that i use a small sticker and this is
actually Nicole hutch designs sticker i
also use them for birthdays which I will
cover in
this video probably as well with the
letter A and B but real quick because i
know this is my anniversary didn't even
bother to put a name i just put how many
years it was that's a little more
important to keep track of and maybe
harder to remember especially in this
season for me as a new mom with a
newborn baby so I use my multi spread
this is a month on two pages and I like
to mark off when the anniversaries are
now you may choose to keep track of a
lot of anniversaries I'm it's up to you
and it certainly doesn't have to just be
wedding anniversaries it can be any sort
of what we would call a milestone or an
anniversary that you would wish to track
and you can do it with a sticker you can
do with a particular color ink that you
write down maybe you use a colored ink
to trace a box around it which I have
done in years path maybe you even use a
highlighter so you use just kind of a
simple color blue or black and then you
take a color-coded highlighter over top
of it
one thing i like to keep in mind is
sometimes it's not enough just to mark
an anniversary but we also want to make
sure to send a card or buy a gift or
make a text or something like that a
phone call on the day off and so that
information is better in your weekly
view or daily view however you have your
more focused view and it should probably
become you know attacks got to do you
can mark that it's somebody's
anniversary as well and if you are
simply making a phone call on their
anniversary that's probably enough to
mark the day
however if for instance this was
somebody I wanted to send a card in the
mail I would need to be aware about the
anniversary a week to 10 days before the
actual day of their anniversary so I
would in fact be looking ahead when I
was planning this particular week on
like a friday or saturday i would look
ahead a couple of weeks and
I would create a to do when I was
setting up this planner page because the
anniversary is so early in the week if I
waited until Monday to try to send a
card
obviously that wouldn't have time to
arrive so i would need to be aware of it
maybe even more than a week but 10 days
is probably a good number so the first
thing is anniversaries and the next
thing on the eight is the list is annual
appointments or annual renewals and I
would treat them and let's say come June
groups i'm skipping june because it's
stuck together one-handed there we go
and let me remove this this is actually
a good example so let's say I'm i have a
do an appointment maybe a yearly
physical
maybe an annual subscription something
to that effect that you want to be aware
of it only happens once a year so we use
the example of the yearly physical on
you know june sixteenth i go in i have
my physical and I want to make my next
your appointment at this time
well I don't have next year's June pages
so what I would do is use the post-it
that i have in the back or elsewhere in
my planner i would jot a note this
actually isn't an annual appointment
thing is just a reminder but i would put
it on a note like this and i would
actually stick it in my December pages
if you have a future pages log and you
know what I'm talking about right off me
saying that this is where you can put
this information but if you don't know
what i'm talking about you don't have
future pages i would recommend just
taking a post-it like this and sticking
it in so when the time came to prep
Junior prep december i would probably be
thinking about what plan are amusing
next year which inserts even if i'm
switching sizes or styles i still have
this reminder and the information of the
payment handy and it's not falling
through the cracks
so all we would have to do is when I'm
getting ready to kind of transition from
inserts to insert or planner to planner
i have this and I can be there move this
note to the jan or excuse me the June
pages of 2017 or i can create it to do
for myself in january to make this
appointment if I hadn't made it yet
that kind of thing so a sticky note is a
great idea if you get the kind of
reminder cards or appointment cards you
can washi tape that to your future pages
or to your december which ever you have
and it would work for both items so
annual appointment or even annual
renewals again i'm thinking of things
like maybe you have some sort of
subscription that renews every year and
you want to consider whether you keep
that so you want to be aware of it
coming up before you commit to
purchasing another year or something
like that that's all i have in the a
section moving on to the B section and
right now I'm holding my baby and I'm
probably going to need two hands for
this i'm going to try to put him down
and make sure he's all calm and happy I
will be right back okay hopefully leave
I will state that old for several
minutes here
ok the first thing on the list for B is
his books to read
now i'm going to look and see in my
travelers notebook don't think i have a
book list right now and this is going to
be interesting because this is a hot
mess of a traveler's notebook i am
currently moving everything that is in
here
and in separate notebooks into probably
my personal sized mountain and these are
longer-term lists and things like that
youtube ideas and and whatnot because i
want to turn this into my sermon
note-taking and maybe even art
journaling for like scripture art
journaling and things like that
that's a long way of saying I have no
idea where my booklist is but usually if
I have one it's listed it looks
something like this so ignore the fact
that this is diaper bag essentials i
made a throw cute piece of washi on the
top maybe i won't and it will usually
just be a simple handwritten list you
could write books that you want to
purchase or that you want to read so if
you hear a recommendation and you want
to be able to jot it down and have a
place for that or I've also done this in
the past and seeing this in the past
this could be a log of books you have
read you can include the title and
author and the date
some people even have book reviews where
they'll take a little paragraph and make
write a description of what they thought
or even just mark you know one star out
of four four out of four and come up
with a system like that and so you could
easily have that in your travelers
notebook you could have that in a
particular section i usually and used to
i don't currently I'm have sort of a
miscellaneous section of lists and I'm
thinking that maybe that will be making
a comeback so we'll see a little
transition going on here but the point
is books to read another one is blogs
maybe you want to just keep a list of
the logs that you like it could be in a
simple list for my Chris again or like
the booklist the other thing to think
about is maybe you have a blog and you
want to have either a section or even a
stepper planner again i'm moving all of
my youtube stuff probably into this
planner I'm going to use these monthly
inserts for penciling in
ideas making sure I'm you know
scheduling something or letting you guys
know if I've got a vacation coming up
and i'm not going to film those kinds of
things so i will have the availability
to do that i also have all of this
scratch paper here is the baby tracking
video that i filmed last week and here
were some notes on getting started in
this a to z in your planner part1 that
i'm filming now I have some ideas i'm
starting to flush out for another series
planning 101 and it's just nice to have
all of this kind of blank paper scratch
paper to flush out ideas so this could
probably be an entire video and itself
once i have more of a working
functioning system in my blog or YouTube
planner sections and but just know that
that's another thing that you could be
tracking in your planner either a list
of blogs you just like to read or
perhaps you own a blogger youtube and
you need some space to keep your
information

list
ok listen i know in my travelers
notebook so here we go back and forth
let me see here i believe it's in this
one and this is one reason why I can't
do my planning planning actually in a
traveler's notebook like this because I
can never find anything even if I feel
like I'm doing a good job with like
indexing it just doesn't work so I'm
around Easter time you know that's kind
of a major holiday i was looking up
different activities crafts are fun
things for my kids and I just started a
list and I you know I labeled it with
what holiday it was actually left room
so I could put some washi tape up there
or stick or something to make it pretty
and I jotted down on the things that I
was kind of a pocket listing on the
bucket list is just kind of a list of
things you would like to do some people
have a list of 30 things they want to do
or accomplish before the 30 you know
could be
40 before 40 or whatever it is it could
be any sort list and i have a partial
one started for spring activities with
my kids and summer activities so just a
place to jot down things and if that's
what you like to do and this of course
could also be in your planner I'm you
know I have my stuff scattered around
several different types of notebooks
right now so bear with that the next
thing on the list is beauty
now I don't have a list of beauty or
cosmetic items in my planner but I mean
I just showed you two different types of
list you can easily make the connection
on this list you would write down either
makeup that you want to try or maybe you
have some favorite brands are you
finally found a lip color that you would
door and you want to remember the name
of the color and the brand and also what
you got it maybe you got it at a great
price on a particular store so you could
have a log of those types of things in
your planner as well to make it more
efficient when you are purchasing new
cosmetics so beauty things birthday is
attached on this pretty much the same
thing that I do for anniversaries i use
a little sticker and I can't remember if
I side they are from nicole much designs
and they're just the perfect little size
big enough to stick out so I know that
it's a birthday but small enough that
it's not like i can fit over actual
appointments and things i need to track
in the box as well I don't do a
particular color for anniversaries vs
birthdays or for you no immediate family
versus not or whatever I just have a
whole sheet of these stickers and I pick
whatever color i want for that person so
you can see I have one bear there's only
one birthday this month that I'm
tracking happens to be my husband's you
see here and here we're couple this was
my son's this is my knees as my father
and mom so you know just birthday is
here there and right now
I don't have them pre-planned just
because through the rest of the year
because i don't have any of the rest of
the year pre plans so I have them
written down and I i choose to refer to
that calendar every time I preparing a
new month and in years past i have
actually gone in kind of first thing in
december or january you know when you
get your new inserts and whether i use a
sticker or color coding you know symbol
some way I usually go in and prop the
entire year but i have switched inserts
a few times and I'm really heavily using
stickers right now so that's just one
one reason I'm I'm not pre-planning
birthdays but thankfully nobody has
fallen through the cracks and again i am
trying to be super aware of upcoming
birthdays to make sure if i'm going to
send a card in the mail when I give
myself plenty of time to purchase the
card or go through my stash and write
the card and put it in the mail before
it arrives for them and I create tasks
and to use for myself in my weekly more
detailed section the last be is bills
now and i will talk more about finances
as a bigger hole
come on buddy kind of like putting
himself to sleep over Larry not
committing if it gave mukut i will talk
about finances more as like a whole
thing when i get to the essence section
but i do want to touch on bills
sometimes it's a good idea to have your
bills marked and a personal planner so
let's say you have a completely separate
calendar or separate section or even
separate planner for all of your
finances you may wish to have bills
upcoming bills marked in your current
personal every day planner and I know so
many stores offer bill do stickers in
fact this is a planning made perfect
paid a sticker and in her monthly kit
she has this exact same size flag or
different colors that also
coordinate with the whole kit some say
payday and some say bill do and i would
probably take those and stick them on
the day is where a bill was due because
it just would help me make wise
financial decision so if i'm on a
particular day it was a hard day and I'm
like do I want to get takeout tonight or
do I want to cook and I saw that there
was a bill due the following day it
might help me just stick with the plan
make a meal at home even if it's just
PB&J and instead of spending money on
take out that I wasn't planning on and
then the next day having to have more
money come out of our account for a bill
I've made a wise decision by seeing that
money was going to come out very soon
and that helped push me you know to just
eat our own food and not spend all that
extra money on take-out so you know just
a thought or idea if you don't to put it
in your personal planner and not always
keep it so restricted into its financial
planner so that is the end of the bees
and I think I'll end the video here i
know i only got a couple of letters but
I have some introduction and I just
don't want to make these videos super
long so a and B things to put in your
planner i hope i got you started with
some ideas of things to track maybe give
you an I a new idea on how to track
something or maybe tipped you off to
something that you could be tracking in
your planner and as always on this is
not an exclusive list you may have
thought of something that was missed in
the a and B section
I'd love to have you throw in the

mention it and an upcoming video and
just kind of put you know viewers notice
this particular thing and I'm happy to
it to give a shout-out for that
particular tracking thing because what
what are we can't learn from each other
