everybody asks you're here and today
we're going to take a look at the class
rankings for technically post now that
one that cares owns released but I did
write these thoughts out pre-release so
we're looking at the state of the
classes at the time or one night and
Cara's on is releasing plus how I think
things are going to be affected by the
new cards that are out there i do
apologize a little bit for the delay in
getting these videos out but had some
sick kiddos and got to be a father first
for me this hopefully understand but
that said 19 carries on is an expansion
like i said before it's 45 cards so the
effect on the game as a whole may not
necessarily be profound unless it's
something like Max Ramos where we have a
bunch of strong neutral cards so we'll
talk about that as time gets there but I
just want to go ahead and get straight
to the tier list here because we've
talked a lot about the cards on this
channel coming up so let's talk about
classes when I say class rankings
I just mean how is the state of the
class as a whole if you're a newer
player trying to build up your
collection
what kind of cards should be focusing on
some people like to just collect
everything some people like to just get
cards for one class and this ranking
more looks at how the class is faring
health-wise we're going to start from
the top here number one is still warrior
kind of controversial pick for number
one at the beginning whispers of the old
guys were now in the state of the
metagame Warriors still strong and once
all the cards release water is going to
continue to be strong mainly because
there is aggression from the warrior
class into a lesser extent shaman that
is going to keep the rest of any of the
control metagame that tries to emerge in
check so we may go to something that's a
little bit more mid-range e which suits
warrior fine and warriors kind of one of
those classes that has a bunch of cards
that can really make it a Swiss Army
knife ravaging gold the MVP from the
last set
now the warrior got some underwhelming
cards from 19 carries on fools Bane is
good if you can afford to take the
health damage i've heard some people
talk up protect the king that remains to
be seen but warrior is still too strong
enough for nobody got enough to supplant
it
it was still there however there's only
one other class on the top here and it
is not going to be called warrior to you
anymore and that is true it making the
big jump up now that may not be a huge
surprise to you
Blizzard has pushed really hard to the
point of possibly even forcing be
screwed into the metagame as a very
strong deck with menagerie warden so
that is something to look out for
between menagerie warden and the other
card and chanted Raven even moonglade
portal could see some play in a yog
token deck if you just want to get a
little bit of a heel and still summon a
six drop that may not fit the curve as
well now four beasts rude one thing to
keep in mind is that it's probably gonna
end up being more of an aggressive deck
especially when you have so many low
curve beast that would just go in there
it's kind of a deck that once the top
out occur it turns six or six men with
menagerie warden kind of like the old
Phil Reaper druid topped out at 6 45
minute with fell river than seven men
with dr. because everyone just play
doctor boom but still Druidism a very
strong place be strew the new hotness
token drew it's not going away of them
pretty much there could be another
archetype that emerges I think dragon
druid has some potential this set
between Barnes even just kinda malygos
style or she'll so be on the lookout for
that too not and don't think I'll be a
tier-one deck but i think it will be a
viable deck finally so that's the
top-tier warrior and druid then we go to
the middle tier which is a little bit
path as you will see first on the list
is warlock and warlock is very much an
interesting place i do not think disco
war or discard warlock is going to be
very very strong but silver goal and
Malcolm's are simply going to be very
strong in zoo so zoo actually got some
added power to it some people say a zip
zoom needed by the end whispers of the
old gods
zood kind of been figured out a lot of
classes were taking against it
rena warlock didn't get a lot maybe
choke all could see some play with
karkas am I don't think our exams
exactly the car that this class needed
although the criticism for car exam is
that it's essentially a war stat force
of nature but on the other hand you have
to ask yourself maybe warlock would be
more willing to play force of nature
than druid knows but still warlock is in
a very good place but not a top-tier
place especially because a warrior's
going to crap on in druid has a solid
match up against it
next is shaman shaman is getting knocked
down the totem pole here a little bit
it isn't week by any stretch of the
imagination and this is one of the good
things that Blizzard seems to be doing
for all the criticism they get with some
of the cards they released in the low
tears and that's valid criticism but at
least what they're doing
from the looks of it here is giving
multiple classes multiple archetypes of
decks because once upon a time is pretty
much 11 class one viable deck we know
kind of like vanilla world of warcraft
but shaman it does have a control varied
it does have a grow it does have
mid-range and the cards that you get a a
good work out pretty well I'm very
curious to see how spirit clause if it
works in a spell power or even
controlling style shaman that would try
and counter it from getting overrun in
the early game instead of having to use
board clears like elemental destruction
and efficiently
still I'm not exactly sure if Bob change
shaman is a tier one deck or if it's
just more of a medical and it does have
some good matchups with the decks that
are in tier 1 which is sometimes all you
want but once again shaman is that
weekend being in the middle tier isn't
necessarily bad it's just not in the
same leak as the two classes that are at
the top of the game and then next on the
list and some people might be surprised
that i haven't ranked solo but let's
keep in mind that this is not really low
it is Hunter hunter kind of in the
middle of the pack of the middle tier
now hundred to get some very powerful
cards this
that's true kindly grandmother is going
to be a little bit of a curved piece
that I think you are
mid-range Runner was missing early on
and that maybe a pickup of strength to
move it up a cloaked Huntress which is
already out is seeing a lot of
experimentation and i'm going to zip my
lips about my observations myself and
just go with what i wrote before which
is I don't think secret hunter is going
to happen cloak countries is a strong
card in itself but cloaked Huntress is
not going to be able to make up for the
fact that hunter secrets are not the
best in other words it's a very strong
card secret hundred just may not be a
very good deck now young and load on the
other hand you can live the dream
sometimes the question is going to be is
it consistent enough because Lock and
Load refreshes your hand it doesn't draw
cards for you and Hunter still struggles
mightily with card draw but it remains
to be seen hunters one of those classes
that I could be very wrong about it
could be top tier close as call of the
wild is that good and a lot of these
decks are just focused on surviving
until the call of the wild turn that's
something you hear the pros off and talk
about so that's where that's where are
hunter or could just be called called
the wild class at this point
next on the list is pallid which is a
big jump from the lower tiers from
before
now this is sort of based on the fact
that dragon paladin with some of the
neutrals it could possibly happen
especially with your new muster for
dragons as well which is if you have a
dragon in your hand some of the two
three and 11 tokens as well good tempo
or some kind of value paladin come up
possibly i think Barnes is also going to
be one of the most effective new
additions to news off palette and while
I still do have concerns about Barnes
being a consistent play he's a good
enough play where if you can draw that
death rattle over the course of a number
of games it's going to work out for you
more than its
not i also think of all the classes that
I could have a good . or deck
drew it's one of them which contributed
my rank and of course it and say here
but also paladin is another one because
curator once again you don't have to hit
all three murloc dragon and beast if you
hit two of the three that will be fine
curators definitely gonna be one of the
more interesting deck-building
challenges in this expansion and final
slot on the tier list is mage mage got
some solid arena cards this set but
these rankings don't really focus on
arena and in that case the construction
cars are underwhelming even Firelands
portal is a little underwhelming when
you look at it if only because it's
seven mana now you get to do some damage
you get a pretty good tempo swing it's
like a fire elemental but you can't
always control that body some five drops
are fantastic some five drops or not and
you're really paying for that five
damage in a body so it's good the
problem is that it's seven minutes so it
comes late and sometimes it comes too
late that 5 damage is not necessarily
what you want maybe one aboard sweep of
flame strike proportions or maybe you
want blizzard or frost / doom song or
any of those things
still though mage is a pretty strong I
don't think avian water is going to be
enough to make a secret mage sick all
the stick although many valet is good
once again it's slow as well I've seen
people talk about in freeze mage and
that's a that's a possibility i'm not
good enough with freeze mage to really
give that boost their but I think majors
in a place where it's a solid number two
deck where it's going to match up pretty
well with some meta decks that are out
there but sometimes it's just going to
get run over and once again if you're
just relying on simply yogging and
praying to get back in it's not always
gonna work out for you and that's why
it's at the bottom of the mid-tier once
again it's not bad but there's some
concerns about it
and then finally we do have the OT r and
this is classes that could need some
help
first on this one is road now I thought
rogue could potentially have some
breakout potential before Barnes can
work pretty well in the Tsar throat but
I'm still not sure if the South Road is
the best in stock deck
I don't know if there's gonna be really
a push towards Kathryn road which I've
seen some people try and make happen
the big thing is that a lot of people
who play road want more than just the
miracle style choose from and right now
that's kind of all we got and Blizzard
has introduced some cards for kind of
abergel mechanic club stealing cars for
other classes and while that's fun and
interesting i don't think it's very
strong now the cards are obviously not
out as of the time of this writing and
the cards are actually not out yet so it
will be interesting to see what people
can come up with and if actually
stealing other people's cards is a good
mechanic that makes for a stronger i
know sometimes increased my thoughts
deals can really carry the day but
that's because i'm drawing from my
opponents deck and people don't put
crappy cards in their deck at least
usually they don't
the problem with these burgle mechanics
is that it's still a random card from
that class so it's not nearly strong as
thoughts deal and that's where I kind of
draw the line also for kids just a sad
card i mean it is pretty much is just an
indictment on fiery war axe saying well
I guess this 32 weapons should really
cost three mana shit in them but a rogue
is going to be still broke is a good
class in itself for tournaments rogue is
very good an environment where you can
ban another class but for standard
laddering it's tough it's very time and
at the bottom of the list is priestess
there's really no surprise there is a
reason they're such an outcry from the
community for how priest was doing
because at this rate it's like
hearthstone is essentially eight classes
then priest and a lot of people are
saying we'll just give priest to drop of
three drops from early game and there's
some neutral cards that could work very
well in priest I don't necessarily think
the early drops are the solution for
priests I think what blizzard really
needs to work on doing for the next
expansion is just figure out what they
want to do
you with priests it's not really just a
healing class it's not a still you're
the people stuff class it's not just
anything else I don't know if it's going
to turn into the class that has like
here's your vanilla minions that have no
bonuses but just have solid stats go
heal but I mean that's entirely
possibility right now the strongest
priests tech might not even be
controlled priest it might actually be
combo otk valence and that says a
problem right there because that combo
is a incredibly inconsistent and be far
weaker than the worgen otk because of
that consistency so priest doesn't
really have the help he needs
maybe dragon priest will get a little
bit better with some of the neutrals
medieval may work better and priests
than anything else but the problem once
again is that its priests and it's just
shackled right now by the fact that it
has fallen behind the other classes
because of you do have onyx Bishop which
is good but you can't really play it on
curve because there's oftentimes you
don't have a thing to resurrect or worse
if you have to onyx bishops you run the
risk of reading and onyx Bishop which is
not great i think it's a good card but
it's not necessarily going to help
priests holes which is getting overrun
early on and not being able to catch up
priest of the feast is very good in
terms of healing especially because
priests do run a lot of spells to the
fact where there is young priest as
potential however priest of the feast as
a card itself is shackled by the fact
that priests can't go over 30 health so
it would be a lot stronger maybe too
strong and preschool / 30 health but
that's kind of what we're looking at
right now prices are going to play a
combo otk or just trying to fatigue out
your opponent doesn't do that as good as
other classes specifically water so
that's there for the rankings to sum up
one more time top-tier to hear by itself
here with multiple valid archetypes
warrior and druid mid-tier classes that
are tend to have one very strong
archetype and some other ones that go
there in order warlike warlock can't
talk shaman hunter paladin in mage and
then loads here classes that need some
help but haven't necessarily gotten it
yet which is rogue employee
priest so that's it for now this is a
