MetaReport: Announcing the Adventures Platform and Tunnels & Trolls

MetaArcade Founder & CEO David Reid today announced the studio’s first project, the MetaArcade Adventures Platform, which will enable users to play, create and self-publish adventure games featuring narrative-driven mechanics. The company also announced the platform’s first title will be a digital remastering of the iconic tabletop role-playing game Tunnels & Trolls, available later this year for iOS, Android, PC and Mac.

hey everyone
David Reed here for meta arcade hosting
our first episode of the men report
today i'll be sharing big news about our
first project the metal arcade
adventures platform and with it our
inaugural game
so without further delay met a report
starts now
back in April we announced on men arcade
com that our first game was already in
development but we weren't able to talk
about yet
with the platform we've been designing
to go alongside today we can share all
I'm a big believer that the best games
now our design with deep community
involvement in mind from the outset and
I'm not just talking about beta testing
and feedback on forums think about games
like Minecraft Skyrim dota 2 and Team
Fortress 2 these are just great games
there are massive canvases that have
empowered the community to create its
own content on top of them were keen to
repeal this movement even further
the men arcade adventures platform will
be the first in a series of platforms
with which we hope to unleash the
creativity of gamers in their
communities everywhere manifesting the
world's new design as full-fledged
adventure games we've made it our
mission to mitigate the barriers that
writers artists and game developers
often encounter when trying to publish
their own works and to that end
providing an accessible set of self
publishing tools allowing any creator to
engage interactively with their audience
in short if you can write a story you'll
be able to publish your own narrative
driven adventure RPG on our platform
we've already begun licensing an array
of creative worlds and move systems to
provide the Foundation's you need to
create your own adventures from scratch
and with development well underway
you'll have a prototype to play this
summer available on iOS android pc and
mac as we premiere our first title a
digital remastering of the iconic
tabletop RPG controls those controls was
the second role playing game ever
published and it brought a wealth of
innovation to the genre in particular
pioneering the solo adventure allowing
for greater accessibility and narrative
depth as an alternative to group play
with her debut of tunnels and trolls
we hope to delight the long-term fans of
this legendary game as well as bringing
new comes along and giving everyone a
glimpse at to create a potential we
think men arcade has to offer
