Anti-Meta Report & Predictions for Yu-Gi-Oh in 2016 - Hardleg Vlog Thing

Hardleg and Cardsworth give their thoughts on the direction that Yu-Gi-Oh is heading, making predictions for the top decks of 2016 as well as their tips for stomping it.

ban list of everything and the server
than I normally play on wasn't available
so I had to test an unrated stuff took
twice as long
just like I have a deck ready but I
don't think it's good enough yet so well
plus we've got the new band was coming
out what the 9th I believe so yes
so it's like a week away from the banned
list anyway so it's still kind of up in
the air so I thought instead of doing
the one today I'm going to do something
a little bit different but I'm a little
short of predictions / guide / I guess
would be log
but yeah just you know 26 teams gonna be
here in a few months we just got the new
ban list that made all the old met up
pretty much dead for the most part or
lease says significantly less useful
than it was
we've gots what was it orders of chaos
mentioned it mentions of chaos and
that's coming out in November 6th so
that'll be like two or three days from
when this comes out and then we've got
breakers of shadow that's coming out I
think january january 30 January 15th so
2016 gonna be a whole new set of metal
we're gonna get all these new cards that
are there are a lot of these new
archetypes that are going to change
things up support for archetypes little
change things up the old archetypes are
dead and with it a lot of the the
medicare is changing so central to what
a decade normally do

them a try to make decks the don't get
hit by the banned list or don't like

talk about some of the new Dexter coming
out we're gonna be talking about some of
the anti medical cards that you can use
against them maybe some of the decks
that might see a resurgence just gonna
be a Velux style thing and next week we
will have another one today I'm already
got a plan of already got sleeves made I
just needed tested more than a couple
kinks worked out and we'll have that up
next week for us I hope you guys don't
mind in addition because there's no way
this this week and I know most of you
aren't on the patriotic but the Patriots

what I'm going to do is we're having a

go and dive right into this minute there
this is the 2016 archetypes that we
think are going to be good obviously
we've still got a few more months left
of 2015 but we're most likely gonna get
another band list either in January or
February something along that lines and
then we'll probably see somewhat the
same the same cards available all the
way through the summer
up until the World Tournament again they
might do it another like summer ban list
had a couple things but most of the time
it's once they set things up in the
winter so these are the things are going
to be to look forward to for the rest of
the year once we get the next two sets
and everything we picked ndex mostly
because we have a grid there will be
using later on and at 10 slots and so we
picked ndex pretty much in order but we
think they're going to be good at so
first we got the PPT deck perform files
for four majors lot of people call this
the pay pay for PPE it's based off some
acronym I don't care I called the Petri
Dec people you know I'm hilarious but
this Dec
well it's actually not too bad but it's
what's doing really the best in the OCG
in OC juillet and this is like 2000 no
one else can started on next we've got
cosmos the TCG archetype course they are
attacking the battle stepson all the
things especially with the the new
dimension of chaos I'm sure everyone who
doesn't play them are annoyed by them I
know I am course you get the new monarch
support we should be coming out I think
the structure decks coming out sometime
this winter
yeah there's that with all the new
monarchs the heaven monarch in the
darkness monarch interested they draw
four days I'm sure you guys are familiar
with that I face a couple times on the
12 Dec arch nemesis number two side
frames I mean if you're not familiar
with them get out what are you doing
here you don't need to know about the
anti-matter if you don't know what size
frames are got a magic specter's the new
pendulum negate all the things archetype
infernal its arch nemesis number one
they've been good for a while but of
course now that everything
top two years been knocked down a peg I
think they have a chance to shine shine
Cyber Dragon infinity turbo I'm not sure
if this this is probably the closest
thing to not actually being a deck I've
seen a lot of Dex the just make Cyber
Dragon infinity is enough of a hassle
that I think he recounts almost as a
deck archetype by himself as specially
if we keep the Tolomeo as in the TCG if
they limit him in america then we may
have
he may not be as much of a problem but
right now there's a lot of people who
wanna get over Cyber Dragon Cleethorpes
horse of course like I already got
towers taken away so they're not
unstoppable but this live Sky base you
could still tribute them you can still
summon a whole bunch of monsters you
could still play all the really good
floodgates and they're not really
bothered by them because they can Normal
Summon they can they don't need their
affects everything so I think Lee still
stand a pretty good chance once people
change their strategy with them we threw
speed roids on here this sort of our
token like this is probably a tier 2 Dec
we're gonna throw it on here because
they're they're new and interesting and
we think they've got some potential we
have to put a synchro deck on here other
than side frames because what's that
saying fucks iframes yes yeah yeah and
then finally counter ferries which may
just be hype but at the time of
recording this i've seen quite a few
videos of counter ferries going plus 10
and starting off the first turn with
like for counter traps for likes great
horn of heaven or whatever
a lot of people are saying once that
said that set that has the counter ferry
isn't out in Japan yet that comes out
for them soon
and they're saying once that comes out
it's going to be 20 like the only thing
that will be able to stand up to it and
is it ok as well as the 1010 Dexter we
think most likely gonna be the top tier
decks of 2016 and then now we've got
some cards that we've we've sat down
we've amassed up we've looked at what we
think is going to be able to stop those
what has the best chance of stopping
those and we're gonna go through those
real quick these are gonna be look for
these in the water deaths of the next
like six seven months because a lot of
these are going to be making appearances
if you play and he met a few play road
here's the stuff to invest in right now
because these are going to be super
useful if you want to look over your
friends with their super expensive decks
so first up on the list no geometry oh
this is always been one of those under
rated like sort of medical cards
especially now that there's more swarm
based a lot of people elect oh you put
them in their kind of useless and they
can do 300 damage when you attack them
or whatever but there's a lot of
especially with the performer power four
majors like their whole thing is that
they swarm with rank with level for
monsters and make a whole bunch of like
a rank fours they make a whole bunch of
big things and if you full of three of
their monster cards they're pretty
limited with what they can do especially
now that exit on so on they can't just
exit and then continue from there if you
leave the odometry oh that's really good
for stalling as feel like you know you
you set up and then they can't they can
explode all over you would make a giant
mess of things that sounded terrible
with ideology of a clogged up their
zones they can't do that much and then
you have a chance to make a comeback
before they can borrow everything out on
the field
likewise with cleese not quite as hurt
because they can they can do with just
11 good clean monster they had that a
quick clip spell can give them a little
bit of attack and let them search and
stuff like that of course they can they
can still tribute to of their website
they have to on the field so they still
have a bit of a chance but those slow
them down they can't make tower towers
like it makes guy they say because I
need to tributary of course iframes
can't do anything if you put a monster
on their side of the field all their sex
they have to have one and this is such a
flake not very trafficky format that I
can see the ciphering that negates traps
probably won't be seeing as much play on
your chances of getting a geometry offer
a little bit better and once you do
they're they're pretty much like they're
they're dead in the water when you keep
those there until you can get out
whatever you want cuz i mean they can
sync with the with the old JAMA tokens
but all their tutors are the ciphering
cards that can be Normal Summoned or
said so they're not going to be able to
do that very quickly and then there's
also in that same vein putrid putting
bloody bodies
a weird little card especially if you're
playing a pendulum decades it's
destroyed one pencil and colored control
give control of this colored earphone it
it can't be used for anything it's
useless it's like an old gentleman token
and it accepted afflicts three hundred
every turn
another neat little one of course
against iframes you're going to have to
be able to play a spell first and a
monster and then activate the the effect
so it may be a little more difficult to
get off and of course it's just the one
but it still is a nice little utility
cart especially if you're doing a burn
lockdown Dec that has pendulums in it of
course if you're playing against the
pendulum deck they can always destroy
one of their pendulums to send it back
over to you so yeah enjoy that trade off
and then Daniel wanted to mention the
stones but about them you you wanted to
mention them and you just mentioned them
ok does sounds apparently there on the
level of odometry also do you not
remember I wanted a used house dust on
the ramp and into something your
opponent controls menu someone out for
of the color does stands it can't be
used for anything and it fills up their
field ok so yeah they go and get in for
those networks like cyber dragons stuff

effects they need to banish in order to
do if you want something to counter
cosmos this is the colored likewise
iframes have that spell card they need
to banish drainage are you in the know
there seems like they can still they can
still see
grow but all their secret is banished
themselves that's the effect they can't
keep your hands down they can't get rid
of your field as long as you have this
on the field they're going to be tricky
and again at a trap card so unless
they're playing the stuff to negate
straps are gonna have a bad time
likewise infernal lloyd's if you want
that your anti infertility colored side
deck iron wall also appear along all
right now about two to five dollars so
if you're playing real-life pick those
up now that be a good thing because of
Cosmos take off they really become the
top of your deck that I think they're
going to be this is going to be the
anti-matter this is going to be the
answer to cosmos on this closer than
answers you can get and like I said they
also slowed down side frames they they
shut down infernal it's completely and
the new monarch coloreds like they kind
of have to banish some stuff they're
slowing down the negative it's a
completely shut them down but if you
have a format of monarchs and Kosmos
Imperial iron wall is going to be cancer
to them
likewise there's another card not very
often known chaos on terms when your
opponent Special Summoned monster to
start one card to Special Summon this
card from your hand you cannot remove
cards in play and it's got 2500 use this
for a while as an anti dark cloth card
because it just got a hundred more and
its effects dark alone and like I said
against against stuff like cosmos play
it can get over slip Stryder and stuff
like that if they someone out that they
have to Special Summon first and you
have to discard cards it's kind of a
heavy cost but if you really just want
to stop things from being banished
infernal isn't very little special
something special someone everything
they've put a little 1600 thinker in the
new logo no more special summons for you
know this pretty good actually got my
personal favorite fossil Dyna / the
barrier statues / jangan anything that
shuts down special summons
these of always been kind of decent but
especially in this format
because you're getting a lot more of
cards that can't be playing unless
they're special someone like cosmos
really can't do anything unless they can
special I mean they can still tribute to
be a lot more difficult they don't have
a lot of removal and I actually saw like
there's no CD deck profile not too long
ago that was very similar to my my
asshole there was pretty much just like
fossil Dyna barrier statues with Trap
Hole and near force we're like a normal
summon an attack and then just stop your
normal summons in the tax so like if
there's an antimatter I remember back
during insect orders there were sort of
like this

that everyone seemed with come together
with at the same time that was like a
PMT Meditech
with their views of the anti Meditech
that just a hodgepodge it'll probably be
some fossil Dyna barrier statue bullshit
which I personally love so that that
will shut down your performance house
side frames can't do anything they reap
infernal waves cannot do anything
Cyber Dragon not going to be able to
like even Cyber Dragon himself as a
Special Summoned monster speed Reuters
even counter ferries if you can go first
and get that out there gonna be there
have a difficult time getting around
that of course cosmos monarch I mean
they still have faith I mean monarchs
can still normal summon their tribute
deck they don't need to Special Summon
and they can use like storm for some
stuff to get around you but you're still
a slow them down a little bit because
they need to get whatever the little
ones are in a special summit
and Cosmos just has some high attack
normal so minimal monsters to begin with
a farm girl can get over all of those so
it's not going to be a little bit of a
troubled but still I think your best bet
with the coming up matters to you wanna
play anti-matter this some kind of
fossil diet us down special sometimes
Dec soon XO melissa is wavering eyes got
really need to mention wavering eyes
almost i mean if you're playing against
pendulums is really bad for pendulums if
you have pendulums this is one of those
cards like even the medics are probably
going to be playing wavering because
it's such a good leg good for you
counter opponents thing one of the
meanest things through unfamiliar with
waiver nice it stores all covered in the
pendulum zone and then you get to the
fact based on how many cards was there
were destroyed
there's just one you inflict 500 damage
done a lot of input that there is
useless what does anyone have a waiver
nice four-game whatever number 22 were
destroyed you could add a pendulum from
your Deck to your hands it's a good
search covered if there's three you can
banish one card on the field if there's
four you could add another wavering eyes
from your Deck to your hand so you have
your full pendulum scales your opponent
has therefore pendulum scales you're
going to be banishing searching at least
searching at least two things and and
also 500 don't forget that time from
2011 mean trick to do is to just set
wavering eyes and wait for your opponent
to activate theirs and then act change
yours so yours will destroy their
monsters first and then you get the
search and then there's just wasted and
they get to know affects anything that
runs pendulums wavering eyes is going to
be a sad too so yeah get yourself a
waiver nice beach likewise spell
shattering arrow pretty much the same
it's going to destroy all the pendulum
zone junket to summon but it saves your
pendulums and if you don't play
pendulums that it's it's almost the same
thing
likewise in addition to be good being
good vs
all the pendulum decks it also helped

nothing without their fields bill
depending on what kind of monarchs
they're running they may have a lot of
fields a lot of field goals you don't
have one feels they may have the fuel to
the one that keeps you have the extra
deck that everyone hates long they may
have that they may have a bunch of
continuous spells that stop their
tribute summon monsters from being
destroyed
shattering era will stop that likewise
infernal as a lot of people run almost
infertile it's still sharon is not going
to help if they run the void internal
waves with the field spelling / install
shattering over if you like that kinda
goes that if they run dry spells the
card that destroy space up spells so
mister anti-matter 10 out of 10 not good
enough
well since you brought up Mystical Space
typhoon to slow only get rid of one
colored you really need to let mass
destruction there's a couple other ones
that I know are going around there's of
course typhoon which is MST except for
its a trap but you've been activated
from your hand if your opponent as
pendulums so there's that you can do it
first turn to disrupt scales
pretty need there's also a pendulum
storm destroys many cards in each
player's pendulum zones as possible then
destroy 1 Spell Trap your opponent
controls so that's where your very eyes
but not as good but a lot of people are
like you know destroyed more spells
traps if you have a high school drop
deck which is like a magic specter's
that might work better against them also
if you don't play pendulums obviously
this might be a little better than
wavering guys because I have four
there's also twin twister which is the
start of one car destroyed to spell
traps on the field that's basically
double MST
you have to discard a card for its quick
play well obviously if you need stuff in
the graveyard for whatever reason well
there you go
so there's a lot of there's a lot of
better options than MST at the
industry's finally sort of getting
phased out as the the best kind of spell
trap stuff
and of course there's always a chance
that our piece filter does to get around
it a comeback in which case we'll get
heavy storm back or something I doubt it
but there's a chance some extra got not
really one card but more D Fisher and
macro cosmos the to banish all the
things cards along with dark law also
bans most of the things these are not
quite as good as they were last four mad
last format we saw a whole bunch of
floaters and things that activated the
graveyard lecture dole's and burning a
bit yang scenes now and not so much but
there's still a little bit of utility
just because cards that like pencil
monsters that are destroyed while one of
these cards are out will be banished to
settle into the extra deck so it won't
shut them down completely but it will
prevent them from being able to recycle
things so the performa powell's the the
majesty actors to us somewhat of the
agree the Cleethorpes those are all
going to be affected by mass banish
likewise monarchs are not going to be
able to do as much of their shenanigans
with the drawing and banishing and
redrawing of cards they're not gonna be
able to reuse as much of their stuff and
send things to the Graveyard so that all
slow them down significantly
infernal edge of course without the
graveyard they can't do you searching
for his first journalist you don't run
something to destroy spells traps and
your opponents like i activate macro
cosmos you might as well just surrender
is there's nothing you can do and speed
roads of course not gonna do that great
they don't they don't need the graveyard
but they use it and that the troika
hamper their ability to do stuff W one
really good player with a someone from
the deck and then they're not gonna be
able to recycle and then everything's
gone and they just have to hope that
whatever they summoned can do good job
getting kind of looks very specific
cards that only they really only heard a
couple of the decks but

degree fall cane card cannot be
attributed if you want to stop Majesty
actors are you wanna stop stop them hard
mask of restrict is the way to do it
they have to tribute their cards to do
anything if they can't tribute they're
gone and they can't even respond to it
by tribute in something is a continuous
Trap likewise monarchs I mean they're
the tribute artifact they could still do
some stuff but they're not gonna be
nearly as useful with master restrict or
fall came out on the field
likewise the nuclear corpse with the way
they're they're setting up there gonna
be relying on those tribute affects
their gonna be wanting to get Sky base
and not being able to tributes going to
hamper them just a bit just a tiny bit
and to a lesser extent I mean infernal
aids can dodge things dodge effects by
repeating themselves to banish something
from your Graveyard so shutting that
down should slow them down a little bit
but yes especially with this magic
specter's are coming out in the neck
when I get a lot of us perform Powell
like nonsense so if you're gonna be
going to get a bunch of magic specter's
was gonna try to negate everything mask
of restrict
of course anti spell fragrance
gold-colored supreme for four years and
years

set and they can't be activated the same
turn their set they basically come
become like traps set them in a way to
turn and there's always been sort of
like a slow down the game kind of deck
but particularly against pendulums
because you cannot you cannot settle
monsters and the pendulum zones so if
you plan to entice built for endurance
your opponent cannot activate pendulum
monsters so performing powell's counter
ferries magic specter's Cleethorpes all
gone with the burb course iframes you're
gonna keep their fields fell down for
return that gives you
little bit extra time monarchs they're
they're shuffling through all their
colored they're going to set those they
can't activates the ones they search for
their slow them down
likewise spell canceller that just says
those cards can't be activated for some
kind of tricky to get out he's a level
five insect but i think is a level five

insect is a little difficult to get out
there's not very many ways to search in
blood if you can get them out their
phones gonna have a bad time she also
negates the face-up cards and RT face up
when you bring him out
yeah of course the same thing with
nature of the beast he's gonna get all
the snow covered and everything as well
as the only problem with fellow
councillor in nature of the beast is
obviously because they're monsters they
can be destroyed by battle they can be
destroyed a lot easier with monster
effects they can be sent back to the
hand there's a lot of stuff you can do
without spells to get rid of them
whereas most of the stuff that destroys
anti spell fragrance is going to be
spells
have a wavering eyes are still
shattering arrow or something or MST
Galaxy cyclone that can be used to get
rid of anti still fragrance so that's
going to be a really hard card I'm
probably gonna make more and I still
fragrance decks here in the future
definitely so next up we have the anti
search cards mistake and to a lesser
degree droll unlock bird again because
birds a monster there's more ways to
negate it and Italy Italy stops that one
term and really stops people from adding
a whole bunch of cards they can still
add Juan but they can't if you wanna way
too if you want to stop counter ferries
and you want to stop them quick draw
unlock bird is probably going to be one
of your best bets because I mean they
get one counter trap of the night to be
able to add the other 4 I'm gonna be
able to add older pendulums they're only
gonna get one colored and of course now
and then you have to be able to do
something to prevent them because
otherwise you're gonna die
mistake if you go first alot better
obviously it stays on the field so
if they can't get rid of it immediately
they're not gonna be able to do anything
for POW's need to search as well
monarchs dear god there's just nothing
but using coloreds to get other cards
ecards on magic's specter's Jesus like
mistake is just that that is the one if
I mean mask of restrict is good but the
state is gonna stop them from getting
any of those cards they can't search
they're just a bunch of weak little like
monsters that are coming out and doing
nothing so they're gonna have a bad time
you gotta be able to attack you gonna be
able to kill them quickly need some some
stuff because otherwise they're just
gonna make a defense law they drawlin do
things they need but that'll definitely
stop them please this would have been
bad against cleese of Scout had been hit
23 they still have to search a little
bit but they're not as reliant on
searching as they once were so they
might actually have a leg up in this
department if anything the lake please
might be able to run mistake without too
much of a problem if they can complete
their their their scales with other
things will once I can ok so mistake
only stops you from searching it doesn't
stop you from drawing so if you have
your clean monolith you can still draw
your tributes so if you want to make a
clear objective just has all of the
floodgates in it you you can go ahead
and do that which leads us to our last
last
anti meta card lose one turn / skill
drain but lose one turn like fossil Dyna
is pretty much going to shut down or
slow down everything except for please
please can can still get around that
please now that I'm looking at this list
please or almost shaping up to be a kind
of anti Meditech it weren't for the fact
that everyone would be playing wavering
eyes and spell shattering arrow to get
rid of the pendulum scales they might be
really really awesome I might have to
make an anti medically Dec it might be
happening people pretty soon they
everything else i mean cosmos they can
kind of deal with it by ear
slow them down considerably monarchs
they're not going to be able to summon
things from the deck with the monarch of
heaven
magic specter's when a pendulum
something they're not going to be able
to search infernal ads are gonna be able
to do any of their trigger effects list
of big really attack point monsters but
there are able to search for the big
cards that we think it would be good
upcoming meta obviously we left out
there's a couple things that we try to
stay away from stuff that's already
limited or semi limited torrential
tribute for example at Drexel tributes
gonna be really good in this upcoming
format because everyone a lot of people
pendulums lot of people some in a lot of
Dexter Simon masses amount of things and
stuff like cosmos like it doesn't matter
if they take out their monster still
getting destroyed by torrential tribute
and then that's one of those things that
distinguishes it from last medicare's
last-minute future rental tributed a
burning abyss Dec that's gonna get older
effects should all players are spinning
at all their sex they're gonna get older
monsters there's no point there is no
point torrential tribute there's no
point near force a dark hole lasts less
format but this format things are more
destroy mobile they're much more easily
distractible so you're gonna see those
things come back we don't want to
mention them here because most of them
are like one or two there's no real
point being like a different Rachel
tribute a lot of you probably already
works really well
likewise and offer there's a couple of
decks obviously there are going to be
doing a little bit better
cradles not looking too good in this
next format unless they can mix with
something obviously you can throw them
in but we're really excited was when
your opponent make some big boss monster
by using most of their coloreds they do
a bunch of shenanigans and they make
appeals and then you just take their
deals but this this format a lot less
about big huge boss monsters and the few
boss monsters there are like
the cyber infinity dragon there's going
to negate that should look like a dark
hole and integrated which would be
released only have been the gate the one
in the attack on with the group
regardless grapples not gonna be nearly
as good because your opponents not going
to have to put all their resources into
one car they're going to have swarms
monsters as there is all about swarms of
monsters and when they do a really big
monster the great tools are not going to
be able to do anything to it like twice
iframe
going to banish the issue before you can
take it you're not going to be able to
summon the same crew like know your
greatest I can be able to do with kind
jews on the other hand because the
effects because they tribute themselves
which doesn't start a chain which isn't
affected the conven- like negated really
is it just a summoning condition those
are going to be really good time at a
you can / them into a lot of things is
no matter what if they do make a big
boss monster that you need to get around
like yeah maybe you have to give the
most of the 3,000 attack but that's
better than cyber infinity dragon it's
better than having legal bills on board
it's better than having the Draco slayer
whatever the fuck is to just give them
this monster and be like well there you
go there's unless they have mask of
restrict her fall came they're not gonna
be able to stop that supplied user
pretty good on anyone over the fossil
Dyna barrier statue deck and then i evil
swarms Ovi being able to stop monsters
that are level 5 from being summoned a
lot a lot of these like special symbol

it still might be a little too slow it
might be a little too difficult to get
around them but if you can you're going
to be shutting down a lot of things and
then finally I want to talk about just a
couple of the like loose loose ends
first of all royal decree the car he
said that most of the decks on the list
most of the the new medicine is stuff
that doesn't run any traps were runs
very few traps royal decree snacking to
be too useful except for counter ferries
if you really want to be an anti
counterfeit royal decrees a way to go
you can go first and set that up and be

not gonna see too much play but might be

only affects your opponents pendulums so
I mean more to play that shit on
whatever I mean three's a pretty low
scale to get your local store stuff so
you can be pretty good time with us
again we don't put them on here because
you seem like it would be a stable
any deck that runs wavering eyes can
also run one copy of this guy you can
blow up your opponents pendulum scale
search out your vector put him in there
your opponent can use any other effects
yadda yadda there you go
so that that some stuff to look out for
and I think that about wraps up guys
that that's what to look forward to the
next next six months to a year with the
UGL we got the big dicks coming out of
the medals changing up a lot of a lot of
this floater stuff that we were dealing
with before is is changing pendulums are
on their way in a lot of people say
things like the the game is ruined the
game is like broken and honestly there
seems to happen every year no matter
what happens and it's always good to
have perspective and think back to leg
there was a time when substitute owed
and mass driver was a thing where FTP
like before there were even synchros
people were making STK decks yeah they
were just incredibly cheap cyber stein

game is broken it's not broken it's just
changed and it's just like the old days
