Part 1 - LDAP Based Corporate Directory via Cisco IP Phone Services SDK - Part 2
In this tutorial, you will learn how to use the Cisco IP Services SDK to search Microsoft Active Directory without having to integrate Unified Communications Manager with LDAP. This can be useful if you have a multi-tennant environment or if you want to use an existing Active Directory database as an additional directory.
Part 2 walks you through creating a custom xml file to include the standard personal directory, the corporate directory and the new ldap directory on your Cisco IP Phone
Closed Caption:
ok now that we've got our new corporate
directory JSP file we need to test it
see if it works so let's open a web
browser and just type it in type in the
URL of that that corporate directory JSP
file the HTTP IP address of our is
server and do cisco IP services
localized directory in corporate
directory JSP ok so you see we have a
little xml file and i'm just going to
take this and happy and show you what it
does whenever you put it into a phone
ok so I'm going to make this change to
my IP communicator phone i'm going to
change the directory URL so I'm just
going to paste in that URL save
reset close to the microphone
ok now whenever I push the directories
button you can see that personal
directory is no longer there and all we
have is a corporate directory push
forward take a look at it
submit you can see that we have the four
users from the corporate directory
ok you see it is a good idea probably do
not put administrators in the same owe
you our service accounts rather because
if they do show up in in the active
directory
ok so how do you get the corporate
directory and the personal directory or
how do you add an LDAP directory to the
corporate directory that's on the call
manager and the personal directory
well for that will need to create an xml
file and its really a lot easier than it
sounds
let's go to system and enterprise
parameters we're going to find the url
directories parameter ok let's copy this
URL open up another window and paste
that in ok so this gives you the the
layout of a phone menu and this is what
is behind the scenes for your personal
directory and your corporate directory
so this is the URL to get to your
corporate directory
this is the URL t2 personal directory
open Notepad real quick and I'm just
going to copy this XML text
view source and ok so in this sense i'm
just going to add our ldap database
instead of replacing the corporate
directory
I'm just going to add it in addition to
the personal directory to copy that
paste the menu item back in change this
name to ldap directory and we are at the
URL that was in our corporate directory
added in between the URL tags of this
menu item file and save as and save it
in the same directory as the asp file
we're going to local directory or
localized directory and I'm gonna save
it as corporate directory . xml ok so
now for my phone i'm going to change the
URL from the asp file and I had before
to the new xml file
ok
reset the phone
let's check the direct again and now you
can see that we have missed calls
received calls and now you see personal
directory all that directory and the
corporate directory get five for the
ldap directory it gives you your ldap
database it's 64 your corporate victory
have the two users that are stored in
the callmanager as end users
