How to Password Protect Mac Apps - Appcrypt Overview

Hey Guys this is Mac Guru and in this video I'm reviewing an app called Appcrypt by Cisdem, which lets you password protect any mac application from anyone who is trying to access it.

Cisdem AppCrypt is designed to protect your apps by making sure you are the only master. It is quite easy to use: just set a password and add the apps to the lock list, and no one else will be able to access your protected apps without the correct password. You will never have to worry about prying eyes when you share your Mac with others. You can also prevent your children from accessing apps at improper times by setting specific time periods of encryption. What's more, it keeps track of failed attempts and provides reporting on app name, date, time, operation, and snapshot taken by the front camera.

to be bringing you a review of this app
called app Crypt by system so let's get

started so before we begin I want to
thank the guys over at system for giving
me a license code for the full version
of this application it's a really really
useful application and make sure your
Mac is secure and no one else but you
can access your applications so the full
version is $20 but you can try for free
at their website their link will be down
below and what this application does it
lets you choose a password and then you
can select different applications where
you need to set that password to open
them so this app is available for
different uses for students businesses
for family all that stuff what I would
find it really useful for if you want to
let your laptop to one of your friends
they can't access any of the
applications you don't want them to by
setting a password yourself so this this
is what their website looks like if you
want to check it out make sure you check
it out down below as I said and this is
what the application looks like very
easy you have a hidden key right here
that opens it it's in the toolbar and
then uh you just set a password in the
beginning when you install the app and
then here are the apps that I've
encrypted with a password so if I want
to open up system preferences as you can
see system app Crypt will ask me for a
password so if I type a wrong password
it just St a photo with my webcam and
and so I need to put the right
password there we go now I've opened up
system preferences and now when I go
back here as you can see here is where
the app has detected that someone was
trying to enter in my system preferences
and then it will show a screenshot of my
face I'm blocking it because I don't
want you guys to see my face but it's
very very useful so I can just delete
that and here I can add more apps that I
want to block so for example if I don't
want anyone to T
my mail I'm just going to click and then
click add and then boom if you want to
open my mail you can't right so it's
very very useful basically if you want
to just keep everything safe it's very
nice because no one else can access this
but you and then right here we just have
some preferences for example you can
take the settings for the menu bar you
can add a hot key and then you can
launch it a startup obviously you want
to have this opened all the time because
these apps won't have a password if you
know how this opened and you also have
the option here to capture a photo with
a failed attempt so obviously if you
want to see who's trying to access this
application you can do that with the
webcam the password you can change it
here if you want make sure it's a strong
password so no one knows it but you and
then you can also set a schedule for a
specific time of day where you want to
have these passwords for these different
applications very very nice app
