no cell phone plan no freaking brought
May and all freakin problem
so I've had this is my second iphone
I've had an iphone 4 and i have an
iphone 5 absolutely amazing little
devices they are but if you look at the
top corner there
you'll see no sim card I haven't had a
sim card in a phone since may of 2014 so
that's like nine months without actually
having a cell phone plan or a phone
number
now I don't think that cell phone plans
are a necessity for a lot of people for
people like my brother for example he
works in corporate sales
I'm he's always you know on its phone
talking to clients messaging them
getting updates your work and stuff he
needs a cell phone
he needs a cell phone number I for
example for my type of lifestyle
I don't need a cell phone at all I get
by just fine without it and i'm just
going to talk quickly about the
different apps and what how I kind of
get by without having a cell phone
because i think that most people to get
locked in these two year plans these
three your plans with their cell phones
and a lot of them are you know pretty
expensive
you know you're spending like a lot of
like a lot of people spend 70 hundred
hundred and fifty dollars on their cell
phone plan per month
this is like it's like whoa like that's
a that's a lot of money just to be going
for like just to be able to like text
people are check your facebook on your
phone
now some people are going to get a lot
of benefit out of that like I know
people who they don't even have any home
internet and they just use your cell
phone
they use their smartphone for basically
everything so for email for even viewing
netflix videos or whatever that for them
would be really beneficial for me i have
Wi-Fi at home here i have Wi-Fi at my
work and I can connect to Wi-Fi spots
almost anywhere i go
so you know you can go like just for
example you can go into any
starbucks you can go into any mcdonalds
not to actually eat the food at
McDonald's but to use the bathroom or to
use our free Wi-Fi and you can get you
can get connected to the internet you
can even go
I've been downtown London Ontario which
is a when I tell people that I'm from
London they're just like but you don't
sound British I'm like london ontario
canada
there's another London alright so i can
walk down
I can walk downtown London Ontario and
there's free Wi-Fi
like in the downtown core and it's just
like you can just be down there and just
like oh I can connect to the Wi-Fi right
so there's lots of Wi-Fi spots all
around the world
obviously in like airports and stuff
like that very very common
so how do I stay in contact with people
how do I communicate with people with i
would actually having a cell phone plan
since I'm since I own an apple product
and owning apple products makes me far
superior than mostly other people in the
world
that's actually a joke is that i can use
up
they have been a program built in called
I message so i can connect to I message
through my just through my itunes
account or whatever and I can just send
SMS messages just like your normal text
messages with other people who also have
iphones
so that's really really handy and it all
you need to do is just connect to Wi-Fi
and you can use iMessage I'm something
else is have an app called whats app so
that's just another kind of like
standard kind of like text message kind
of thing
you can also send people like videos or
images audio messages as well for people
like me her too lazy to type it out
so I'd rather just like speaking to my
phone and then i can just leave them
kind of like a kind of like a voice
message and nether app that I use that I
think is really handy is because i don't
have a phone number but i can still call
people and I do that through an app
called we phone
so it's called w.e phone and what i can
do is i can load is I can load credits
on to this program using my itunes
account and you know either one dollar
or five dollars or even more dollars at
a time and I can make calls to the
United States for one cent per minute
so as long as I have a Wi-Fi connection
I can make phone calls of people they
they can't call me but I can call them
and so that's actually been really nice
especially like with dating handbook she
lives in the United States if we don't
ask I / I just want to call her when
she's not at home
I can just do so and it's not gonna
obviously break the bank
other ways that you can keep in contact
with people i'm using using your
smartphone is without actually having a
cell phone plan is using programs like
skype
you can also use facetime there's just
so many ways so many ways like my
primary mode of communication with
people is through email
so obviously if I have a Wi-Fi
connection
I get all my emails directly on my
smartphone here
no need for a cell phone plan so just by
not having cell phone plan even though
even if I did have one I'd still be
spending not only spent twenty-five or
thirty dollars per month on it
I would get a pay-as-you-go plan as I do
understand that you know some people may
want to have the security they may want
to be able to get in contact with people
just like say they're in the middle of
nowhere
so for some people it does certainly
makes sense to have a cell phone plan
but i still think that you can get a
pay-as-you-go plan and just kind of for
go just kind of like using massive
amounts of dad and stuff because like
yeah like I go to starbucks and people
are just like on their phone
don't be a table somebody else and
they're just on their cell phone it's
like there's no they're not even have
having any type of communication with
each other
it's really kind of like it's
interesting the kind of like see this
happen but people are just so like into
their cell phone and i think that one
way of kind of like alleviated that kind
of like that disconnection with the
actual world is actually by not having
cell phone plan so I'm not always
constantly like checking my phone I'm
out checking my phone like oh did
somebody send me an email somebody like
my photo on Facebook did somebody
how many people like my Instagram photo
like I'm not a hard to present
perfect with that I do get a little
addicted to Instagram but it's something
that is much more kind of like easily
kind of um you can easily kind of
control it was like when I'm out and
about
I'm not always just like who got to be
on my cell phone
Oh gotta be on my cell phone got to
check what's going on you know and
getting that getting all those forms of
like instant gratification who a little
poke little poke
Oh somebody poked me so I personally
think that smartphones are definitely
one of the best personal growth tools
that you can I can have I think they're
absolutely amazing
but they can also be your worst enemy as
well because I can just keep use because
people are just so freaking addicted to
their smartphones
so if you have any tips or any tricks
for people who are you know maybe trying
to get away from using a cell phone plan
