video tutorials
this series is for anybody who has ever
opened up free so on your computer in
thought
how in the heck do I play this game well
hopefully I'll be able to give you some
strategies that will make you a better
free software
and also show you how this can be a fun
and rewarding game this episode which is
episode 0
is really just for anybody who has never
ever played free cell before
or if you just want to know the
terminology that I'll be using to
describe the various
areas at the playing field so if you're
already a little bit familiar with the
game or if you just don't care about the
terminology feel free to skip the
episode one where we'll start talking
about some strategies
so to start of in the upper left hand
corner you have
your 4 free cells in in the upper right
hand corner your four foundations
in the center you have 8 cascades and
the bottom card on each cascade starts a
tableau
in a tableau are referring to
the sequence is a card that you build
downward alternating in color
the foundations are built upward in suit
so this is similar to solitaire which
you may already be familiar with
now somebody may ask why free so why
would you play this game I can just play
solitaire
well freecell is fun and rewarding
because it's a different type of
solitaire game it's called in
open solitaire game and it's
fundamentally different in that all the
cards are visible from the start
this makes this a skill-based game not a
chance based game like other solitaire
games
in fact nearly every deal a free cell
can be one
except for a few exceptions like the
infamous game 11 982
so most people don't try it because it
looks daunting at first all these cards
staring at you
but it's actually easier than you think
so whether you're completely new to this
game
or if you've been playing for a while
and you just want to increase you win
ratio
