How to Use Aiseesoft FoneLab for Android
Follow this step-by-step guide to recover deleted or lost Android data — including
contacts, SMS, call logs, photos, videos, audio, documents, and WhatsApp chats — from internal storage or SD card.
What you’ll need:
- FoneLab for Android installed on your computer (Windows/Mac)
- Original USB cable, and USB debugging enabled on the phone
- Enough battery (= 20%) and free disk space on your computer to save recovered files
Step 1 — Launch FoneLab and Choose Android Data Recovery
Open FoneLab for Android on your computer and select Android Data Recovery on the home screen.
Step 2 — Connect Your Android Device
Connect your phone to the computer via USB. Keep any other phone-management software closed to avoid conflicts. If not recognized, click the on-screen help link and try the tips below.
Connection tips:
- Switch USB mode to Transfer files (MTP) instead of charging only.
- Try another USB port/cable and avoid USB hubs.
- Reboot your phone and retry.
- Install missing drivers if prompted.
Step 3 — Enable USB Debugging (If Prompted)
FoneLab detects your Android version and shows instructions to enable USB debugging. Follow the on-screen steps and press OK to continue.
Step 4 — Select What to Scan
Choose the data categories you want to recover (Contacts, Messages, Call Logs, Photos, Videos, Audio, Documents, WhatsApp and attachments, etc.), then click Next.
Step 5 — Authorize FoneGo (for Deeper Access)
To analyze more data, FoneLab may prompt you to install/authorize the FoneGo helper app. Enable Install via USB in Developer options, then allow the requested permissions.
Step 6 — Preview and Recover (Standard Scan)
When the Standard Scan finishes, preview the results by category in the left panel. Select only the items you need and click Recover to save them to your computer.
Need More Results? Try Deep Scan
If you don’t see the files you’re after, choose Deep Scan. This mode performs a byte-level scan of full storage and generally finds more items, but it takes longer and requires root access.
