How Powerful is a DVD Burner Laser?

This is a measurement of a DVD burner laser pointer I made, it has fresh batteries and hasn't had that much use so the diode should be at an acceptable performance level.

Possibility of making a more powerful DVD burner laser by modifying the circuit but then the laser would not last as long according to my research beforehand. I'll try it out in a different video see how high I can get it before it explodes into a giant fireball that engulfs us all.

Remember lasers are dangerous, they are NOT toys! Never point lasers at any living thing / moving vehicles! Be sensible and responsible when using lasers!

ever since we started making laser pens
from DVD burners how powerful a well
this DVD burning laser pointer has been
made in the following specification the
basic element 3 17 circuit with 2 times
10 ohm resistors to regulate the

150 million watts and we're even going
to reach 151 milliwatts now the laser
obviously has to be very consistent
because it burns dvds and it is not
consistent then we're going to end up
with something wrong with the DVD has
just been burnt
so you'll see it actually holds a long
time at 151 middle what
it's held there for quite some time but
as always is do it will eventually start
to drop and we dropped just about now
but we've only dropped one megawatt and
drop off is actually very very minimal
on this laser
I'm very very impressed with it as i
said i would have shown you the cliff in
its entirety and here we have the exact
results
what you're seeing is the printout of
the graph from the actual laser be
product so it seems very consistent 151
milliwatts and even gave me a CSV
outputs of what it was
over time so we can see we reach 251
milliwatts and the laser remained there
for quite some time now i hope this

of course we can modify the circuit and
perhaps make it a little more powerful
