Embed YouTube Video into PowerPoint 2007

How to embed a YouTube Video into PowerPoint 2007. Prereq: You MUST have a live internet connection for the video to play within your PowerPoint 2007 presentation.

hi laura girls here and i want to show
you really quickly how to embed a
YouTube video into a powerpoint 2007
presentation
now for the purposes of this
presentation you must have a live
internet connection to make the youtube
video play within PowerPoint your first
step is open up PowerPoint
and check to make sure that you have the
Developer tab in your ribbon
if you don't have the Developer tab it's
really easy to turn it on
you're going to go to this mess of a
logo that powerpoint has in the upper
left hand corner and you're going to
click on it towards the bottom it says
powerpoint options and you're going to
click on that
what you're going to see is under
popular show Developer tab in the ribbon
make sure it's clicked
and when it's clicked click ok and
that's what gives you the Developer tab
that you need
so go to the Developer tab once it's
activated and you're going to see
this right here it's in the toolbox in
the toolbar
you're going to click on that and then
scroll all the way down to where it says
shockwave flash object select it and
click ok because that's what we're going
to be doing we're going to be inserting
a shockwave flash object
you're going to now where you want to
put that video within your power point
presentation so draw it and you don't
have to be too fussy because once it's
drawn
you can go ahead and resize it move it
put it where you'd like to see it
so now that we've got an idea of where
we're going to put that video let's go
to youtube and grab ourselves a video so
here we are at youtube and i found a
video of a monkey
everybody loves karate champ
what you're going to do is go click
where it says URL
and hit control C for copy ctrl c
see isn't charlie season chip
the next thing once you have control C
let's go back to our powerpoint
presentation
we're going to click on this and then
right click on it
which brings up properties click on
properties
and let's go to where it says movie
now we're going to hit control V the as
and Viktor which is of course paste
once where they're going to do a little
bit of adjustment
wherever you see watch ?
you're going to grab it and delete it
wherever you see the equal sign you're
going to grab it and replace it with a
slash
so to reiterate get rid of watch ? and
replace the equal sign with a slash
now there are a couple other things you
can do in here to fine-tune your movie
if you don't want it to loop and I don't
take it from true to false
if you want a little bit more control
about playing the movie
it says true which means the movies
automatically going to start playing in
your presentation
well I want a little bit more control i
don't want that to happen what I wanted
to say is false so that i get to choose
when the movie plays
well that's what the adjustments that I
want to make you can do more of course
so when I'm done in here i'm going to
click the close button the little red
box up here
and now to test it i'm going to click f5
so that I can play my powerpoint
presentation
so here we go
let me scoot this over here
so that we can see it's enough
full play mode not this once again gives
me the control that I need so that we
can start playing the video so that's
all I need to do to get my video to
start going within PowerPoint
yeah
this you notice i have the controls
right in here
I can plaza
I can adjust the sound
yeah
posit start it right within PowerPoint
and if I need to go forward in my
presentation I have another slide all i
have to do at this point is click just
like a regular presentation and I go to
my next slide
and that is all there is to it that's
how you embed a YouTube video into a
powerpoint 2007 presentation and
remember for this you must have a live
internet connection to make the video
work
to make it work without a live internet
connection
