hi friends it's me nikki here to share
my tips on how to plan a budget-friendly
wedding in under 30 days
the reason why i can share these tips is
because i recently did this for my son
in my beautiful new daughter
they got married this past weekend
originally they were going to go to
Vegas and get married but they then
found a church that they joined in the
state that they live in georgia
they went through marriage counseling
through the church and they really
wanted to have a church wedding but they
did not want to change their wedding
timeline which actually gave me three
weeks to get everything plan along with
family and friends and so they came to
me and said mom can you help us plan
this we only have three weeks so it was
a world when it was a lot of fun and in
the end it turned out to be beautiful
so I want to share those tips with you
today
so friends the first thing you want to
do is gather your resources those family
and friends who have the skill sets
needed to help with the wedding
one is a director you need someone
that's going to help with the flow on
the wedding day to make sure everyone's
lined up correctly make sure that the
wedding program flow smoothly
make sure that the reception all of the
activities such as cutting the cake and
the first dance
all of that is going on and that was my
god sister here
she was amazing her mother had been a
wedding planner all her life she has
been wetting herself she has that
personality that is just beautiful and
very direct but you love her but she
gets the job done
we could not have higher pick anyone
better than this and it was just
wonderful
if you don't have this special person in
your life then find that friend are that
that family member that has those skill
sets to deal with people and then share
with them what your expectations are
what you need them to do on the day
another thing is a photographer and my
beautiful sister in law she has actually
been a wedding photographer before and
has done a couple of weddings and so she
jumped on board with her nephew
both of them didn't charge the thing
they just did it out of love
but of course even if family members do
that you want to do something special
for them for you know just loving your
child and so she jumped in
and she did a beautiful job but if you
do not have that photographer in your
circle then go to your local trader tech
school and in the film or photography
department see if any of the students
would like to get some experience and
doing your wedding but then to make sure
that you get the pictures that you want
give them an outline of the exact photos
that you want like you want photos of
you and the groom you and the groom in
the mother
exactly all of the photos that you are
wanting to capture and then give them
that list so that they know everything
that they need to do on that day
another key person is music the DJ and
if you're doing a wedding like we did in
three weeks that can be hard to secure
along with photographers and directors
and things like that
that's why you need to go to your
resources those family members in those
friends that can provide that service
for you
my mom had this amazing friend he is so
sweet they've been friends for over 20
years worked together for over twenty
just of Ages and you know they do things
for each other all the time and so when
she went to him he was like I got this
no charge would be good
no I'm doing it I got it and he did a
beautiful job
it made the reception wonderful and it
was a blessing to have a friend that can
step in and handle that role when we
needed to do it in that short amount of
time
now if you do not have that person you
can have pre-recorded music but just
make sure that your wedding song that
you're going to dance - is on a separate
CD or disk so that when it's that time
you can just put that one song in and it
doesn't disrupt the whole reception
so let's talk yes list and invitations
this can be very tricky when you're
planning a wedding within three weeks so
this is how I handled it
what we did was we knew we had a number
of 70 people that's what we were
inviting now it was only going to be
close friends and family and what we did
was we did not send invitations to
family we call family on the phone we
notified them that he was getting
married and when he was getting married
so that they think that end of the
wedding if they wanted to
then for close friends we did Mel out
invitations and what I did because they
didn't really have time to RSVP
i created the email address so that they
could simply just email that address and
save
I'm coming or I'm not coming but again
because we invited 70 people we really
you know we really didn't mind if they
RSVP'd or not because we plan for 70 and
we invited 70 if under show that's
totally fine because this was only a
three weeks period of time we did not
make a big issue out of it so it really
turned out great
it was a great way to get everyone to
know about the wedding and then now that
they're married they can send out
wedding announcements letting everybody
know that they are married and they're
good to go
I added a little ribbon on to the actual
card of invitation just to give another
touch of that peach and to you put these
little parts on there just to add a
little bit to the outside of the
envelope
I punch them out with my simple punch
this is very affordable cost hardly
anything to do but just was a nice
addition to the invitation so it worked
out well and we have the perfect amount
of people at the wedding
so now let's talk a very important part
which is wedding attire and they were
great because my son he went in riddick
ivory tux he did it early on
no problem she had no problem picking
out her dress found a very affordable
dress that she loved and they both look
beautiful and the thing about it is you
want to be able to make those quick
decisions with those attire so just jump
on that early on and i have a resource
that i have used in the past my
stepdaughter used to go and do pageants
and so I used to order all of her
pageant dress from despite i'll link it
below but they have a great selection of
wedding dresses bridesmaid dresses
mother of the bride dresses all very
affordably they do shit from overseas
but they have fast shipping and awesome
prices and a custom fitted dresses and
I've never had an issue with them
so the great thing about it is we did
not have an issue because they only had
a best man and a maid of honor
flower girl ring bearer and Usher's it
worked out great
now as far as the best man and uh sure
they were basic black suits
i ordered these coral ties which tied
into the wedding and I want to quarrel
times because that's the colors that she
chose for her wedding
i went online and i googled coral time i
came across this time website that they
sell every color time that you could
think of and it only cost i think around
five bucks they looked gorgeous in the
wedding and you don't want to invest a
lot of money into things like this
because typically people don't wear them
again but I got it very affordably and
like I said they had every color in the
world they were called time mark i'll
link them in the description box below
not sponsored by them i just googled and
found them was happy with the quality
and happy with the price and it had
everyone looking great
they work their simple black suits which
every man typically has a black suit
so they just were there black suit but
when we add in a white shirt and we
added in the tie everything came
together it just looked totally uniform
totally beautiful and it was on a budget
now the next thing were the Rings
so my son to jump right on it he found a
very affordable pair and if you're young
couple getting married
I encourage you to invest in a very
expensive pair
is your first set just get an affordable
set of rings and then at your five-year
mark upgraded your 10 year mark upgrade
works out great
now the next thing is the wedding cake
and the flowers and so how we kind of
state budget friendly there was my son
and my new daughter-in-law
they went and got their cake from
walmart and they do make wedding cakes
and it's an affordable way to get one
they got something that was very simple
in their wedding colors but I will
caution you
the day of my new daughter and I looked
at the cake and we're like it looks kind
of a lot straight and so what we did was
we added flowers and leaves to it as you
can see here to make it look straight
and it worked out great
i ordered this topper here online from
amazon i'll link it below its metal but
it's very simple has a little bling in
it and it was easy for me to speak in
the cake so that was key and for 10
bucks
it worked out great so that came fast
you know when you order from amazon
everything comes quickly so that was a
resource that I definitely used and so
it really added a lot to the cake and
then I rented a silver cake platter to
sit the cape on from a wedding shop
because i didn't want something that i
would have to resell or that I would not
use again
now as for the flowers such as the bride
the bride made the boutonnieres and all
of that she had a friend a dear friend
of hers in Texas who as a gift to her
made everything is shifted out right
away and when I got her bouquet to make
it extra special i added in some bling
that i got from totally dazzled by
linkedin below
just to make it a brooch bouquet for and
it looked totally beautiful and worked
out great
now ask for the cake knives I kept them
I want to be there around five bucks
from amazon i'll link them below
but I added a little extra to them very
simple but very affordable
these are some you know these are things
that you're really not going to too much
reuse
I got some napkin rings that i found it
tuesday morning I broke off the back
part and hot glued it onto the set with
a little feather that I got from my
craft room
and a little bit of ribbon that I had
that was in the coral and it just added
a lot and it really looks beautiful on
their wedding day and they absolutely
loved it so it really was
budget-friendly for these little aspects
of the wedding so it worked out great
so let's talk about those tidbits and
the decor
you know what the wedding there's all
those little things like the ring bearer
pillow and the flower girl basket and
the table decor and the wedding chapel
decor
so let me share with you how i handled
that in a budget friendly way for their
wedding in three weeks so what I did was
in my mind I knew all the little tidbits
I did not want to spend over five to ten
dollars each
because that would really keep it budget
friendly I also wanted to use resources
that i had around my home things that I
could kind of repurpose around my home
as decor and it worked out great
the one thing that i repurposed were
these top years i have these at my house
but they didn't have the kind of wedding
feel to them so i bought the white
ribbon and the little flowers very
inexpensive and I tied it around there
and he gave them the way nice feel
these actually went on the table the
entryway table as you went into the
chapel where you sign the guest book and
things like that
I have this mirrored picture frame and I
simply put their wedding invitation in
it with some beautiful scrapbook paper
behind it
I've rented the easel for I think it was
eleven bucks from that same wedding shop
and a little just kind of touch at the
top
I had this little sign that I've bought
for i think i got it for three bucks at
michaels with my discount and that's at
the entry way too and it worked out
great
repurposing things that I had and giving
them a little tweak with the little
wedding field work great
now like I said I did not want to spend
five over five to ten dollars for the
tip is because it can add up with all
the little things that you need so i
went to my local craft store
AC moore in Michaels they have wedding
sections and they have all these little
things like the flower girl baskets and
things like that but they tend to be
very plain like this basket here is
beautiful but it was just the ivory
color basket and then i just purchased
the kind of coral flower here and the
little bling to go on it to customize it
to their wedding but it's still kept it
within that five and ten dollar range
I always shopped with my coupon because
every week they have that forty percent
off coupon is the way to go
the same with the guest book and how I
personalized to get back to the wedding
was i made this beat pin
and if you've been with me a while i've
shown you a tutorial on how to make
these pins
it was great because I could customize
it to their colors and it gave a little
bling and a beautiful touch to the
wedding
i will link that video below along with
the resource that I used to order all of
my supplies to make this pin is very
affordable way to add a lot to this kind
of gift book
so definitely use those store discounts
they really really help
now with the ring bearer pillow I got
that from michaels arts and crafts again
in their wedding section using my forty
percent off coupon i added the feathers
and a hot glue those in myself because I
wanted to give them a little whimsy look
it worked out great
very affordable again keeping in that
range that I wanted to keep in and it
just really worked out well and so
that's what I encourage you to do you
use those resources like Michaels use
amazon i got the kind of our runner for
twenty bucks off amazon also link that
below if you're interested but you can
find those affordable pieces that you
need for your wedding they can get
shipped quickly
now as far as the unity candles i simply
got those just from Michael's regular
candles you can even get these from the
dollar store
I found these very blinged-out beautiful
napkin rings at tuesday morning I broke
off the back and i use those not only on
the knife set
but on the unity candle so it really
worked out well
now for the cards basket like when
people have the wedding cards that they
want to put on the gift table
I ring it that because this is something
that I did not want to have to keep a
resale
I got it from the wedding shop for six
bucks it was worth the six books to read
it
I added my little flower on there I kind
of tied a little silver picture frame on
there that i got for two bucks from one
of the craft stores and it worked out
perfectly so very affordable way to have
that aspect in your wedding but you
don't have to worry about having all
this stuff after the wedding that you're
stuck with now as far as their wedding
glasses i got these very inexpensive I
think they were a dollar to you can get
them from the dollar store
I put a little ribbon on there and those
are actually clip earrings that I found
in the little clearance being a que tous
and I thought it was perfect because she
could reuse these now as earrings
it's not going to waste and it really
looks cute
I have this little crate here that I had
at my house that I said everything in so
that it looked cute on the table
I got miniature champagne bottles
because just one for each one of them
and it really turned out to be really
cute
now speaking of the reception what you
can do
you don't have to have a reception to
have that special day you can rent a
room in a beautiful restaurant have just
your close family and friends there and
have a beautiful meal that's a great way
to kind of in your wedding day but if
you want the reception you you can find
affordable options
what we did was my parents they actually
jumped in and they said we want to do a
reception because initially we were just
going to all go out to do what they
wanted to do a reception they took it on
they paid for everything they
that was their gift to them and they
found a venue so the bride you have to
worry about any of that they found the
venue that could handle the food handle
you know the DJ the dance floor it had
everything and they provide everything
and I think he ran right at two thousand
dollars which is very budget friendly
and the food was absolutely delicious
and they have a great time
now the bride did want to incorporate a
little bit of our wedding colors into
the reception and a little bit of
special touches in there because the
place that they did it for the reception
they did everything in white
so how we personalize that we actually i
did this the night before the wedding so
I was like kind of late but I found
these expensive roses in the color some
feathers
I put them in these dollar bowls with
some fabric in the bottom and that just
gave her her little touch of the peach
and coral that she wanted in her wedding
and it worked out great
along with the table numbers there you
put that on the table and the venue
actually provided the candles and it all
came together beautifully
and so you don't really have to spend a
lot of money to make things look nice
this was when it all came together it
just really all came together and so it
really looked beautiful and when you see
those colors it really pop just adding
the feathers added a little bit of
whimsy very simple to do very budget
friendly
and I could do it in three weeks for the
chapel
what I actually did was we had to keep
it simple we only had one hour to
decorate before the wedding so we knew
we couldn't do a lot of the corn or that
we want to in that amount of time
tool was my friend you can get to like a
whole bowl of it i think for around $12
i got these people hooked on amazon for
I think 24-foot twelve dollars but they
didn't quite work as well on our peers
because our pews were very thick and so
we had to take them to the pews
but if you have the interviews they will
work fine simple to bush's of white and
coral of the tulips from the craft store
type them all together they made the
perfect perfect decor for all of the
pews
very simple very affordable I think all
and all it
- cost probably 20 something dollars to
get everything done for all of the pews
i think i did like 20 fuse so it worked
out great and again like i said i had
this frame here it's a mirror frame that
I had in my house that I used and I kind
of just up the top of the easel here
the sign i got from three dollars use my
coupon at michaels that said please sign
the guest book and I got their initials
in the wood letters for a couple dollars
for Michaels put it all together
great entry the bride actually had a
friend who created her program and then
she had it sent off the staples they
printed it out and folded it and good to
go
so all in all everything came together
seamlessly it really did in three weeks
time within budget and it worked out
great and they were so happy
everyone had a good time it really was a
great day and no one was stressed and I
mean usually on wedding days everybody
stress
I mean we were so laid back and relaxed
it was amazing and so the thing about it
is if your bride you want to have your
day to feel that way you don't want to
be stressed on your wedding day so i
