what's up guys and or no sex here with
my top 5 free mac OS x screen recording
utilities
coming in at number five we have
Copernicus now Copernicus has been
around for a long time it's been a flash
screen recorder for many mac OS x users
it's got a very simple interface to all
you have to do is open up then tap movie
and then from there you get select if
you want to record your memory or your
hard drive memory makes it go a lot
faster to record straight to your RAM
and they're all you have to do is drag
the area of the screen you want to
record onto and then just hit enter now
I put some number 5 because i've only
gotten it to work once which makes it
far too unreliable to be my everyday
screen recording utility at number four
we have this odd little application
called capture me now is we're window
that pops up when you open you have to
drag it over where you want to record
but as you can see from this clip right
here
it records at a very low FPS so if
you're trying to make a video game video
then your footage will end up looking
like this
at now
three we have jing a very nice screen
recording utility with an amazing user
interface so when you open up the free
version you will see the little doing
emblem pop up and then we'll ask you if
you want to buy the full version you
want to say not interested
once that's been selected this little
yellow or will pop up the top right hand
side of the screen and from there you'll
be allowed to make screencasts so when
you click the little plus button you get
to drag to the area of the screen you
want to record and then at the bottom
left as you can see right here you can
click captured image or capture video
so once you capture video you zoom out
and it will show you how many seconds
you have until start recording
sadly I cannot show any footage from
jing because exports in and . swf file
which is unreadable by pretty much any
application on mac and unless you buy
the full version you can export it to
youtube or in a . mov file
the only place you are allowed to send
it to is screencast com coming in as
number two we have I show you HD
now don't be scared away by its title
demo this is probably the best demo for
a program i've used it has no expiration
date and has a very minimal watermark
and as you can see from this minecraft
footage actually has a rather decent FPS
ratio without having to spend sixty
dollars on a full fledge application
which makes this my number two choice
for best free screen recorder and
finally at number one we have Quicktime
that's right if you're running mac OS x
snow leopard you already have a high
quality screen recorder built in
all you have to do is open up quick time
go to file new then screen recording now
on the lair on the side you can choose
our different settings you want to keep
it at medium quality which is still
amazing higher than 1080p but record and
faster frames per second and as you can
see from this footage right here it
films actually a pretty decent frames
per second
I mean nothing like I show you HD but
it's pretty good and it's already built
into your max you have to download
anything
