alright so what I have here is an
external hard drive that hasn't worked
for a while I haven't been able to
access the data when i plug it in
I just get this flashing on the front
and plug it into the computer
the drive does not recognize so I'm
going to see the hard drive still good
and maybe the enclosures bad I far as I
know completely out of warranty not
going to do any good to send a sense i'm
just going to open it up and see if I
can access the hard drive directly

all right so have all the contents of
the university drive adapter out
open it up it's really easy first I got
to give it power like the power into the
wall
second I'm going to get my drive
connected to the computer
so like I said it's worked with all
kinds of different drives SATA here i
got the idea doctor
i'm going to plug this right into the
back of my drive then I'm going to take
the provided USB cable to plug this into
the back of my computer but not have
enough USB slots got here
so now got that put in there now plug
this into the back over here
all right that has power now I just got
to supply power to the drive and I do
that right here
ok i just heard the dr spin up
I'm gonna come over here to my finder
and i'm gonna see if i get a new hard
drive that shows that now
old
not having clicking on the door
this is my first time to see that a dead
driver not

ok so as I said before this is my first
time trying this
well as you saw earlier i was out of a
USB ports on the back of my computer so
i used a little USB extender that had
apparently it didn't like that I had to
I had to go directly in the back of my
computer so i did that so we can see
over here we'll watch the drives
I got one internal and then I got three
external drives currently plugged in
i rerouted this to go to the directly to
the back of my computer
now i'm going to plug it in and get
power go back over here
watch my drives BAM just got a new
external drive
there's porta potti that my new drive
that I just put in
come over here to find her which is like
a Windows Explorer
I got porta potty and that damn access
to all those files that were once lost
so i am a happy man to know that these
files are recovered and now i can pull
them off of this Drive put them on my
main drive and then find out a new
purpose with us to indicate hard drive
restored thanks to a kit that allowed me
to confirm that my my case with that
either
bad controller or possibly a bad power
supply
but for one reason another not working
now recovered
