TestDisk is a powerful free data recovery software! It was primarily designed to help recover lost partitions and/or make non-booting disks bootable again when these symptoms are caused by faulty software, certain types of viruses or human error (such as accidentally deleting a Partition Table). Partition table recovery using TestDisk is really easy.
TestDisk can * Fix partition table, recover deleted partition * Recover FAT32 boot sector from its backup * Rebuild FAT12/FAT16/FAT32 boot sector * Fix FAT tables * Rebuild NTFS boot sector * Recover NTFS boot sector from its backup * Fix MFT using MFT mirror * Locate ext2/ext3 Backup SuperBlock * Undelete files from FAT, NTFS and ext2 filesystem * Copy files from deleted FAT, NTFS and ext2/ext3 partitions.
TestDisk has features for both novices and experts. For those who know little or nothing about data recovery techniques, TestDisk can be used to collect detailed information about a non-booting drive which can then be sent to a tech for further analysis. Those more familiar with such procedures should find TestDisk a handy tool in performing onsite recovery.
Operating systems
TestDisk can run under * DOS (either real or in a Windows 9x DOS-box), * Windows (NT4, 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, 2008, Windows 7), * Linux, * FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, * SunOS and * MacOS X
Source files and precompiled binary executables are available for DOS, Win32, MacOSX and Linux from the download page
Filesystems
TestDisk can find lost partitions for all of these file systems: * BeFS ( BeOS ) * BSD disklabel ( FreeBSD/OpenBSD/NetBSD ) * CramFS, Compressed File System * DOS/Windows FAT12, FAT16 and FAT32 * Windows exFAT * HFS, HFS+ and HFSX, Hierarchical File System * JFS, IBM's Journaled File System * Linux ext2 and ext3 * Linux LUKS encrypted partition * Linux RAID md 0.9/1.0/1.1/1.2 o RAID 1: mirroring o RAID 4: striped array with parity device o RAID 5: striped array with distributed parity information o RAID 6: striped array with distributed dual redundancy information * Linux Swap (versions 1 and 2) * LVM and LVM2, Linux Logical Volume Manager * Mac partition map * Novell Storage Services NSS * NTFS ( Windows NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008/7 ) * ReiserFS 3.5, 3.6 and 4 * Sun Solaris i386 disklabel * Unix File System UFS and UFS2 (Sun/BSD/...) * XFS, SGI's Journaled File System

hi guys welcome to this video and this
video will be shown yet to recover day
off from a formatted drive with a free
program called test disk you can
actually get it from this website here
it's a free program to download w . cg
security dog come down to here where it
says windows download that version if
using a linux or mac he can download
that version there
ok let's get started so let's open up
our hard drives here you can see this is
the f drive this is the drive that we're
going to be recovering now I've got a
file on here called XP from dr just
gonna quickly format that now so there's
nothing on the drive
now good wife
case and drives their clean and we want
to try and recover that file back now
I've downloaded that program here is a
self-test disk and we need to do is open
app and drag the folder out
ok once you get that out you need to
come into the wind folder and actually
click on this icon here
ok open up
and then
basically
look down for the hard drive that you
want to scan on this is the 500 gig one
that's the one we're going to be
scanning on
that's just it as small it all external
one ever got there so I can closest back
box off now and we're going to proceed
on this one
so push enter to proceed also entail pc
that's for windows that's ok now you
need to look over this side here and
look for tests
that's the one I'm doing now yours will
be called test yours will be called
whatever its called
ok so if you want to recover day on the
sea tour I've been obviously look for
ways called there now you've got some
options Danny for yourself to to look at
we've got options
going here you can have brute force and
all these other little options here
we're not going to use any nose or so
file up we can go in there which is file
options and as you can see there's a ton
of stuff in here and i'm just going to
say be to save the scenes so click be
click OK and then
quit at there
so what we want to do next is we're
there
and then come to this area search and
then we're going to search ok so make
sure you on there
click that now DX t2n ext3 is for
linux-based operating system so if you
got a linux-based operating system you
need to choose that one
but we've got windows so we're gonna be
clicking on that
ok the free version is if you've just
delete a file by accident and you want
to try and recover it that is the option
that you can use ok so if you right
click - gun and it's going to add the
recycle bin you can actually recover it
in that option but we're going to be
using the whole option click on that
they're up the top here it will say do
you want to save recover files to your D
Drive and we'll go inside that folder
well I do so I'm going to say yes and
that will be scanning and i'll probably
take about 10 minutes but we're going to
remember is never have the same wherever
you're scanning you can't have the
program on the same Drive that you're
trying to recover the bait from because
it won't work
ok so it needs to be on a separate
partition
I'll just let this is a scan up and what
I'll do is a comeback when it's nearly
finished same three minutes
that's coming down so i'll see you back
in a sec okay let's just finish in
reading the sector nourishing see couple
of seconds to go
and now now go on to
the next phase
let that finish
this will we won't take an hour it will
just come down really quickly so just
pause at this stage and let this stage
finish and then we can move on to the
next stage of looking at the files if
it's recovered any
occasion see that's now finished
which is laying that transfer file cross
time's running out
just let that finish his job
ok so it's never covering now that does
take a little bit of time to come off of
that last stage it will say time 0 to go
but you just need to wait
leave it this light little light will be
flashing here just leave it and it will
start to transfer the file across
ok so saying the file has been recovered
and it's been saved to this directory
ok so it's going to look at the
directory where it's been saved
you'll be an audi drive inside this
folder inside the windows folder and
it's in here
ok is create these folders when he's
recovered the data and there you can see
the actual day of their now it does
rename the file it doesn't keep the file
the same name
that's not so much for problem so we
need to do now as you can see there's a
recovered file with all the folders and
flowers in it
ok so i hope you enjoyed this video is
