5 months post water fasting: After effects; hair loss, exhaustion, water retention!!

My review on my Tanglewood water fasting experience. I do not recommend it and here is why!

this is the first video that I've done
in a while and I've been sort of putting
off doing them so I've been dealing with
some personal stuff and some after
effects from the past and that kind of
thing but i'm ready to share with you
guys
several months back as i mentioned in my
other videos i did an extended water
fast i did 12 days and about three weeks
later I did 35 days on water at the
Tanglewood center in costa rica
I wanted to talk about that experience
now because I'm about five months post
fast now but we have four or five months
and a lot of this
after effects of fasting are starting to
hit me now things that I really didn't
anticipate and I have done a lot of
research about it and I've come to a
final consensus about how i feel about
water fasting have experienced it
I wanted to share this what what what I
went through and what I'm still going
through 24 for the people out there who
are considering fascinating and also to
let you guys know for my professional
opinion - how I feel about fasting what
I think about water fasting versus a lot
of the other detox methods that i have
tried
basically I felt pretty good um you know
during the water fast i did ok until the
later . it got pretty traumatizing at
the end I had extremely low energy took
a long time for it to come back
I lost a tremendous amount of weight and
a lot of I felt very very detox see it
was very difficult spiritually
I was just fed up with feeling like crap
you know more and more each day even
when I was really feeling I had a really
hard time refeeding my body was
obviously going to something and I
wanted to share also something that they
discovered only after i broke my fast
and that is that the water that I was
drinking in costa rica at the center was
very acidic the water had a peach of 4.5
i hadn't i brought my ph strips but I
really hadn't thought to test the water
while I was there and I realized
afterwards when I use my page to test
the water because I i got this idea from
someone to mention it to me that maybe
the water was acidic and that's why
everybody was getting at
a hard time during the fast and some
people were getting really sick so it
turned out I was drinking acidic water
throughout my whole water fast which
makes it really difficult for me to know
whether that was a normal reaction to
fasting that I had and that I witnessed
other people having or whether or
whether it was actually just a typical
let me reacting to the page or whether
or not it was a typical reaction to
long-term fasting so breaking down
detailed what went on through my fast
basically I felt okay for the first two
weeks even on the acidic water
the truth is for two weeks I felt pretty
fine obviously I had a bit of detox here
and there but nothing to write home
about
after day 21 things started becoming a
little bit more difficult and by Tony
six or day 27
I was really starting to question why
was still going i think my gut instinct
was to stop my fast around that time and
I sort of ignored it because I let my
ego tell me that I wanted to completely
and entirely I'm very extreme I like to
do things to the max so I don't regret
having done the fast
however I do not suggest personally for
most people to fast that long
I simply don't think that it's healthy I
think that fasting is a wonderful tool
for healing and especially if you're
using a quality water like I'm distilled
reverse osmosis or some kind of mildly
alkaline water at a very natural water
I think that you could definitely
benefit juice fasting is also awesome
I just I really think that most people
today are really depleted and are not in
a state of health to be able to
withstand a month of Zero nutritional
input at all it's a lot to ask of your
body you deplete anything good you do
have in your body unless you were eating
very very clean and had no detox
symptoms from a juice fast or a raw food
diet or you know any kind of restrictive
healthy diet
then you really shouldn't attempt to do
a water fast
at least not surpassing maximum 21 days
and I think that that's really extreme
for most people safely i would put
someone on a three day water fast i
think most people can probably do pretty
well with that we are designed to go
through periods of feast
famine is sort of the way that where
were engineered to work so i think that
you can definitely incorporate fasting
as part of your life but I wouldn't
necessarily suggest along fast people
unless you are already an extremely good
health in which case why would you need
to do such a long one
you would be better off doing a
seven-day fast every year until you
reach your results or something like
that or do an extended juice fast which
supplies a lot of nutrients to the body
now
it took me about two months um to start
to feel better
even at all after the length of my water
fast I mean I was dizzy i was feeling
detox see every day I was extremely
nauseous
I had trouble digesting food i was
getting horrible breakouts there's just
a lot still going on and and then I went
back to eating cooked food around
holiday time and I put on a lot of
weight very quickly and now I'm back to
my pre fasting weight give or take
but it came all on in a period of maybe
two or three weeks once i started eating
cooked food and I think that that was a
sign that my body was just really trying
to rebuild itself quickly and I had a
lot of health issues because of it
I wanted to show you guys this this is
my hair that I brushed and it came out
after one day
so this is about how much hair I'm
losing every time I brush my hair so
it's a bit difficult to tell right now
in this moment but like on this side
this is how much hair I have left
I don't have a lot of hair in my head
every time I run my fingers through my
hair
I have hair that falls out this is a
pretty common side effect of fasting it
happens several months after a severe
shockers to her trauma to your system is
called a food telogen effluvium it's a
condition that about forty percent of
people who do longer water fast get
apparently it only lasts for about six
months and by a year your hair should be
growing back in but it's still really
scary and I hope it doesn't get to the
point where i'm going to need a wig and
I think that anything that shocks the
system so much that your hair falls out
probably is not the best idea
second to that I've had a lot of
drainage issues with my lymphatic system
something that I haven't experienced
before
I've had swelling in the lymph nodes and
the cheek of the right side of my face
it's gone down incredibly now because
I'm really really watching what I
consume and and drinking a ton of water
and getting a lot of rest and just
really trying to nurture myself back to
health
but it's having a really hard time I
lymphatic system I've had a lot of
headaches and a lot of dizziness and so
and this is now months later back on it
on a eating diet and I noticed that if I
even need any cooked food now
my body just blows up like a balloon I
can't have any salt i retain everything
I became extremely dehydrated with the
water fast which is not really generally
supposed to happen because you're
consuming so much water but i think my
body was using the water to excrete
toxins and flesh things out
I also think the fact that i was on
acidic water made it impossible for
myself to absorb it was like a toxin my
body was just not absorbing anything I
became very cellular ly ly dehydrated by
the end of my fast
so that's basically my experience
they're not going to go into too much
rendition about it
I did see some previous health stuff i
was still dealing with like heart
palpitations and I was getting pretty
regularly just disappear
I do not have them anymore that is
probably the biggest benefit of the fast
and if I was bald i would still think it
was worth it because boldness or heart
palpitations I choose baldness
so I'm basically I'm grateful for that
I'm happy for the experience I'm glad I
can share with people what happened and
where I'm at
I will definitely incorporate it into
the healing regimes and I that I help
people with however that length of time
is not advisable for anyone
another thing I wanted to mention and
this is a bit more on a personal note
emotionally I wasn't very happy towards
the latter part of my fast I didn't feel
that the environment I
is in was very emotionally supportive
there were also a lot of other people
the fasting center that were unwell
my roommate was having a very difficult
time she felt quite el she was also very
nauseous and throwing up like I was
there's another there's two other women
that had an extremely difficult time and
then a third one that was fainting a lot
one of them two of them were rushed to
the hospital
one of them what it was it was because
she was very very else she was
practically in in kidney failure
it was in kidney failure she was a few
hours away from being put on dialysis
for the rest of her life because her
body was so dehydrated because she's
been throwing up for so long and she did
about the same amount of time as I did
it took her many many months to recover
and she's an absolute sweetheart
so it broke my heart it was very
traumatizing to be there in the middle
of a chronic detox and to be witnessing
that so i just want people out there
before you put yourself in a situation
where you are heavily weekend because i
was really too weak to pack a bag and
leave to go anywhere so even if I had
wanted to which there were definitely
points when I did I was not able to
leave so you're in a very vulnerable
place when your water fasting especially
if you're a sick person you don't have a
ton of vitality to begin with
towards the later part of your fast
you're very reliant and dependent on the
sympathy and on the the person that
you're staying with its taking care of
you
so before you put yourself in a
situation do a ton of research about the
facility and the place that you go to it
really matters because it can be quite
traumatizing emotionally and spiritually
otherwise
so that's it i'm not going to you know
prattle on all day
I just wanted to share that with you
