VSO Image Resizer

A How To tutorial about resizing large multiple megapixel digital photos to smaller manageable sizes using a free program called VSO Image Resizer. Resizing them to a much more manageable 640 x 480 pixel size allows you to quickly upload photos for websites or for emailing. Photos at this size are perfectly clear and detailed for viewing on a computer monitor but will be lower quality then a full size photo if you want to print the photos.

you can just go ahead and run the
program a little install it it's it's a
pretty small program runs
downloads pretty fast and I've actually

install the program so I'm going to

how fast your computer runs

directory that it suggests

now that the program is installed

file sizes all these 9 photos are about

down the shift key

the program will open back up in the
shareware version it s
you each time if you want upgrade to the
pro version
so it'll just need to say continue and
then here you can set it
to 640 by 480
which is when I recommend that said
plenty large enough to view on your
computer screen
will keep all the other defaults the
same
and watch how fast this works
so just within a few seconds
its resized all the images and now
you'll notice if we go to
detail view the difference in the file
size is the ZR
the originals they were over 300
kilobytes each and these are the resized
pictures around seventy-five kilobytes
50 kilobyte eighty kilobytes
there about one-sixth the size in all of
them together
are only about 635 K
now but as you can see when I open it up
in
in view it there are plenty big enough
to view on your screen on the computer
and am you're able to
look through them in see plenty of
detail still
now these aren't perfect for printing if
you take them to you have your photos
printed they might be a little bit on
the small side but if you just need
someone to be able to view them on your
webpage or if you're uploading into a
website
and this is going to be the perfect size
to manage the files and and there in
plenty
large enough that you'll be able to see
a lot of detail
