USA trains has available
its award-winning gp13 locomotive with
matching rolling stock and caboose all
three items are painted with the same
paint scheme as well as logos for the
appropriate railroad let's start with
the first part of this three-part set
and that's the GP 30 locomotive it comes
with a detailed instruction manual as
well as all the parts that you can add
to make this a very highly detailed
model
your GP 30 comes with a variety of
detailed parts we found it was easy to
group them as to the location they will
be installed on the engine and there's a
variety of parts to install there's a
couple or lift bar assembly some fold
down steps as well as an mu connector
and air hoses you'll also be installing
handrails on both the front and the back
of the unit as well as both sides once
you get it done it makes the unit highly
detailed and has a nice finished look
you'll also be attaching some truck side
frames stirrups to insert one truck side
frame into each truck side frame as
we've shown the handrail sometimes need
a little bit of pressure to be added in
but just be very careful and you may
also want to use some type of cement to
install them permanently

once you've completed the handrails the
only thing that left the ad is the
smokestack and once you've done that
your model is complete
once you have all the detailed parts
added your GP 30 looks good and is ready
to run
the USA trains GP 30 has many standard
special features including a lighted
number board and an interior lighted cab
there's a detailed interior cabin as
well as an engineer
it has red and green directional marker
lights
it also comes with multiple Road numbers
for running multiple units
like other USA trains products that we
have looked at this GP 30 has crisp
clean paint lines as well as easy to
read decals even when the printing is
very very small
it also has rotating roof fans

the GP 30 from USA trains is just the
first part of this three-part set the
second item will look at is a matching
USA trains 40-foot ps1 steel box car it
has the matching graphics and paint job
to match your GP 30 locomotive like the
gp13 locomotive the detailing on the
paint and the paint schemes is excellent
the lines are crisp and the small text
characters are very easy to read
there are multiple Road numbers
available for most railroad so you can
run multiple cars and not just have
number four three two one coming right
by every single time there's three
styles of operating doors depending on
the type of boxcar that you get and they
have an operating slide and a door latch
that actually works there are detailed
Bettendorf trucks with metal wheels and
a detailed underbody including a
complete brake system

the unit is held together by eight long
screws so if you're thinking about using
one of these is maybe a battery car or
sound car it's easy to take apart and
put back together the details on this
unit just don't stop it has see through
roof walks and grades as well as
see-through and steps there's even real
chain on the brake assembly the USA
trains come installed with the
hook-and-loop couple but they also
include the USA trains knuckle coupler
one thing nice about the boxcars is you
can remove the truck and install a Katy
830 coupler right in the pocket just
three screws and you're done
the last piece to this puzzle is the USA
trains extended vision caboose
this unit is equipped with interior
lighting as well as a flashing rear ET d
light that can remain illuminated with a
built-in rechargeable battery circuit
all you need to do is open the unit up
and at the battery
this unit also is highly detailed using
actual chain for the brake assembly
there's a switch that allows you to have
the lights on or off or to have the
flashing light on using the battery
circuit when there is no track power

the detailed roof and walkways metal
handrails and ladders as well as metal
wheels

it includes a detailed instruction
manual that tells you how to install the
battery for the circuit as well as the
position of the switches and your
maintenance and service the unit ran
great on our railroad we found the GP 30
and our task pulled many many cars and
produce a lot of smoke this matching set
just by itself look great running on our
railroad we can't wait to add additional
units to make it look even better
