welcome after installing home manage you
may be wondering what is the best way to
get started with your home inventory in
this video we're gonna show you one such
approach to get started using your phone
or digital camera take a video of the
room you're looking to inventory in this
case we're doing an inventory of a
living room take individual pictures of
some of the high-value items as we're
doing here the next thing to do is
upload your files that you've taken your
video and images up to your computer the
way this is done varies you may have to
plug your phone into your computer
directly or you may have to use an
adapter in the case of an 8 SDHC card
which you plug into your computer and as
you can see here it appears as an
individual drive so after you've
imported the pictures into your computer
what you can do now is start home manage
again and you're gonna see a screen like
this if you see this example record it's
you have the demo installed you can go
ahead and delete that safely just right
mouse click and it's like delete
otherwise look here at this section here
the location tab and try and pattern it
so that it corresponds to your residence
you're trying to inventory so for
example let's say this residence does
not have an attic you can just right
mouse clicks like delete and if there's
a room that is not shown here that you
want to add you just right mouse click
and select new room and add the details
for that room there so first of all
remember that video we took of the
living room what we're going to do now
is we're going to add it to the living
room as an attachment so click on the
attachments tab click Add
give it a description or title and now
we're going to search for the actual
file itself the file is a video file
that we imported onto our computer so
here it is right here
click open and anytime you want to I'll
just go ahead and save this and I if you
want to go back later and look at the
video you took for that particular room
you just gonna select properties again
attachments click on this and it's like
the open button there and that's gonna
actually show you the video you took for
this room so click OK now remember
there's two pictures we took of those
two items I'm gonna show you how to add
those now one way to do that is just
right mouse click and select add items
to this room we have another feature
called under the actions menu called add
items using images and that would
probably be more appropriate in this
case so we're going to select that and
it's going to ask us where's the
directory of images that we uploaded and
that is under pictures we'll manage demo
and click OK and it's going to present
me with the two pictures I took of the
two different items so to add this item
here I just click on the picture and
give it a title
it's called truck safe Energy Pro now
I've got a quick ad which just quickly
adds an asset with with this title to
your inventory we're gonna add with
details and what that does is it bring
up Springs up the add item dialog notice
the item picture is already attached to
the item and we can go ahead and enter
additional information for example
though we want to select words bought
from the dealer things like that I can
click OK and as you can see here the
item has been added to the living room
so that's that's a good way to get
started like I said take pictures of
your high-value items and you can always
go back in later and use the program and
add lesser other items assets and if you
do this maybe one room a day or one or
two rooms a day you can have your home
inventory done in a few days time thank
