how to use data newman excel repair
to recover corrupt excel files so when
your microsoft excel
xls xlw or xlsx files
are corrupt or damaged for whatever
reason
and you can't open them with microsoft
excel
you can use data newman excel repair to
solve the problem
data newman excel repair will scan the
corrupt file
and will generate a new error free file
for you
now before we get started one important
thing to note
is that before recovering any corrupt or
damaged excel
files you want to make sure that you
close any other applications that may
modify the file so to start off we can
go ahead and start
data newman excel repair and once it's
open
we'll want to select the corrupt or
damaged excel
file to be repaired to do this we can
input the file name
directly or we can click the button on
the right
to browse and select the file
next we'll want to set the output file
by default
data newman excel repair will save the
new file with a file name that just adds
the word fixed
onto the end so you can see in our
example here the damaged file
is named myworkbook.xlsx
and the fixed file is going to be named
myworkbookfixed.xlsx
if we wanted to use a different name or
if we wanted to
save it to a different folder just as
before we can click this button on the
right
and browse for a place to save it i
think i'm just going to leave the
defaults for now so that it saves the
file into the same directory
as the source excel file next we can
click the
start repair button and data newman
excel repair will start scanning
and repairing the source excel file you
can see this progress bar here will
indicate the progress of the repair
and once it's finished it'll pop up a
message that says
excel workbook has been recovered
successfully
now that it's completed the file will
open in microsoft excel where we can
clearly see
that it has been repaired so that's it
