Macro Recorder with automated QR Code and BarCode read-out
https://www.macrorecorder.com - The desktop and web automation solution Macro Recorder can read QR code and barcode from the desktop or any program including web pages and extract the encoded data for use in your automation script; e.g. having OpenAI/ChatGPT process the data.

Macro Recorder can capture QR codes and
barcodes and extract its data. Let's
check this example.
Macro Recorder extracted this URL
and sent the result to OpenAI to have it
count the number of characters.
Of course, you can use this data for any
other automation task. This is just an
example. Now, let's check how this is
done in Macro Recorder. First, we have
the barcode and QR code action.
And first of all, you have to define the
search area.
In this example, we expect the QR code
to appear in a specific part of the
desktop. So, we select this and click on
define.
And click and hold to define a rectangle
where we expect the QR code to appear.
To review the search area,
you can click the light bulb.
And then the search area will be
highlighted.
Okay. Then you can also test the
detection.
This is correct.
And then you need to tell the action
where to store the data extracted from
the QR or barcode. In this example, this
would be QR data. Macro Recorder also
includes a timeout fallback, which you
can define here.
The next action is OpenAI, and we feed
OpenAI with the variable containing the
QR data and instruct OpenAI to output
the number of characters of the domain
name only, so without the dot com and
so. The result of OpenAI shall be stored
in char no, like char number.
Then we change focus to WordPad and
output the text together with the
variables. By the way, to add variables
to the text field, right-click and then
select the desired variable from the
pop-up menu.
That's it.
Mhm.
