many key ring spy cameras in the package
was a spy camera mini USB 2 full-size

instruction booklet the manual itself is
actually quite entertaining is in
chinese and english in the English

around the device these two buttons at
the back here - absolutely nothing fake
these are real buttons which do
something which i'll talk about them in

what's going on the front here is a lens
next to that is a microphone and on this
side is a reset button in the middle
USB port there on the left and a microSD
slot
the device charges through his mini USB
port and have conveniently included a
mini USB 2 full-size USB adapter or you
could use a lead if you want these plugs
into any normal USB socket and if you
plug into a pc it turns up as an
external storage device enabling you to
pull the files off and delete anything
you don't need anymore
the micro SD or transflash slot is a
standard spring-loaded device
one thing I need to point out is that
this slot is slightly out of alignment
with the case
so if you're not careful you could
actually push the car down inside the
case and miss the slot entirely when the
cards in place is nice and flush and
it's unlikely to fall out
ok so how does it operate well if the
manuals to be believed it says please
confirm the TF card is already insert

I think I'll explain it in my own words
now the first thing that i should point
out is that it's not very intuitive but

I was using which is an md80 from AE now
in size is not an awful lot difference
to them but the benefit that this one
has over that one is the horizontal
layout which makes it easier to attach
two things and also there's another
distinct advantage with regard to wait
the md80 camera thirty-nine grams
whereas the mini key fob camera weighs
15 grams and that weight advantage means
that you could attach it to things like
a model airplane or a helicopter
but unfortunately i don't own either of
those i'm going to have to attach it to
my motorcycle helmet instead
ok so that's me nearly ready to go for
just one more thing i did buy two of
these sort of attach the second one to
the back of the bike facing backwards
just to give a different perspective on
things
so let's see how it goes

now if you've got a sharp are you might
notice the difference in the weather
conditions between the front and the
rear cameras
that's because i had to go back and
reshoot the helmet count because are
positioned it too far forward on the
helmet and all it was recorded was a
timer confronts the bike and that
scenario probably highlights the main
disadvantage of these kind of cameras
you can never be too sure that you're
pointing them in the right direction
until you get home and review the
footage and then it's probably too late
so I had a couple of concerns about the
key ring counter
the first was it seems record a very
narrow field of vision
so when I got home I decided to test
this against the md80 and secondly it
seemed to use an awful lot more storage
to recall the same amount of footage
ok so now that i'm home I've decided to
record this scene with the md80 and the
key ring come to see how much of the
view both cameras capture as a point of
reference first off here's the view is
seen through my sony camcorder and now
here's the view as seen through the md80
now it's not in widescreen but it's
pretty much the same view and here it is
as seen through the key ring come as you
can see very much zoomed in to the
center of the image
so we go back again here's the md80 for
a second
and here's the key ring come again ok so
that's the testing over to some of the
differences between the two cameras
the MDA to first of all well it was
quite a bit more but it's got a wider
angle lens it has voice activation one
gigabyte takes up 30 minutes
next the key ring come the dvk 808 well
its main advantages that it's a lot
lighter
it can take stills with a pretty poor
quality it doesn't look anything like a
camera at all but one gigabyte takes on
the 11 minutes worth of video
now there's one question that kept
getting us to over and over on the MDA
to review and that was hard to set the
time so i'm going to show you how to do
with this camera
well first off you're going to attach it
to your pc next you have to create a
file called ta g dot txt and in this
file is the time and the date in the
former has shown here
it has day to the top in brackets and
then the date and a time for example i
was doing this on the first available at
2:18 p.m.
once you've got the current Simon date
and here you save this and he quickly
copy across to the memory stick that's
inside the camera save the camera
heritage of the pc turn it off and on
again
a little over i is current system time
with the new information that you've
given it and it's as simple as that
