Garmin nuvi 2797LMT: Trip Planner (Custom Routes)

The trip planner will allow you to create custom routes for the Garmin nuvi 2797 LMT. You can set multiple destinations then optimize the order to save gas and time. You can use it to take the scenic route instead of the most direct.

in today's video we're going to take a
look at the trip planner in the garmin
nuvi 2797 LMT and similar models to
access the trip planner
we're going to go into our apps and then
the trip planners these three red pins
so we'll touch that
and it takes us into our planner as you
can see I already have a bunch created
but we could create a new trip by
hitting the button at the bottom here
first thing we need to do is select a
start
location we could do where we are right
now
an address categories which is our
points of interest save points
recently found favorite searches
intersections coordinates and or we can
browse the map to plan our wrote to
start let's do our current location
so we'll touch where I am now
and if that point is acceptable hit
select now we need to add another . so
we'll hit the plus and let's go through
categories this time let's say we want
to go for breakfast or lunch before
going on our trip
so let's select let's go BBQ and then
we'll go to big tease
it's select now let's add another . this
time let's go through reasons and let's
pick ready mark gas will select the bat
let's add another point for this example
we'll hit the plus this time we'll use
the map
so just move the map to where you want
to go and then tap the screen
so where that flag is is where it's
going to wrote us too so we'll see
that's acceptable and hit select so now
we have a bunch of destinations in there
let's hit next and save so we'll give it
a name it done and now just calculated a
wrote for us and as you look at the
route summary here it'll show us our
start location
how long it's going to take to get to
big tease 8.7 miles 25 minutes and then
it's going to be 5.7 miles 20 minutes to
get to the ready mark
there's a total summary over here saying
it's going to take us 17 miles or one
hour to drive that if we want to view it
on the map
it's pretty simple hit the map button
and it's going to show us our entire
wrote on the map and you'll see I'm
going all the way down to big tease and
then all the way back to ready Martin
then all the way over there which is not
optimal
so we can actually optimize this if we
go back to the summary page and we hit
these three bars
we have an optimized order option
so let's choose and see if the change is
a rope all right so it did it just
popped ready Martin front of big tease
let's just verify on the map
yeah so now it's God's just doing a big
loop it looks like and you'll see over
here
our travel time just got reduced by 15
minutes and three miles
there's other options in these three
bars such as edit our destination so we
could delete and add other destinations
delete the entire trip
rename the trip optimized choose our
transportation mode
and then our rope references
if you're ready to navigate all we need
to do is hit the Go button it's going to
ask us what our next destination is
going to be just in case we're starting
the road after say we went to ready mark
and now we want to go to big tease
we don't want to have it wrote us back
to ready mark first we just want to go
right the big t so we'll select big
tease or as our next destination
hit start and it's going to wrote us
from our location now too big tease
if we just go back to the road summary
again if we touch one of our via points
are destinations it's going to bring up
some information we can actually set in
a rival time
so if we want to be there by a certain
time we could just touch here and set
that i'll say we want to be there by ten
it's save duration
how long you want to be there for we'll
just leave it at zero because we don't
know we could actually change the
location
remove the location or rename the
location
now that we've entered in an arrival
time it will tell us that we have to
leave our original coordinates at 10:15
a.m. to get to ready mark by 10:25 and
big tease by 10:45
