Route planner with Google Maps

In this video you'll find the instructions on how to create a route planner with pins and line connecting them to illustrate the plan of your route using Google Maps.

hi today we're going to learn how to
create the route planner with google
maps
what your plan is it's basically the map
with some pins on it indicating where we
going
the places we going to be visiting and
the line going across through this beans
obviously showing there now the roads we
going to be taken
so to start with obviously you're going
to have to have a google account so if
you haven't got yet
go and register with google then you can
log in and access maps top at the top
and once you're here
click on it my places button and create
a new map we're going to create give it
a title of my route
we don't need any description really
save it as you can see now we have three
options available here and which
obviously allows you to move around the
map then ping which allows you to place
the pin on him up and then lines which
allow you to basically draw seeing a
draw a straight line draw a line along
the roads and your shape we're going to
start with there being so we're going to
start let's say from London and give it
a some title let's say lon done our
starting point
click OK now if we move a little bit
further west
let's go to reading another one being
our first stop
click on ok then let's create and now
the one somewhere in buff
let's say
bath just bath without any extra
description and now if we go to let's
say
exeter Exeter
okay down we go to let's say send dives
to finish out route and click on ok now
that we have all these pins on the map
if i zoom out a little bit we can start
creating their the line basically to
connect these hot spots
so if we choose the draw a line along
the roads we start with the London so we
click close to that
that's our first been then go to the
next one then next one
don't go to Exeter can also so we can
also click and drag the nexus a
syndicated want to go here and then
saying if the finish once you're
finished click on the ending . again
- obviously finished drawing the line
now we can give it a name let's just
start giving out route and click ok and
this is how i'm obviously ready
there is one of the ways of doing things
so if we save it and done it
let's create and now them up and we go
to my place and screen another map my
route
so let's save it and now we're going to
be doing we do is things slightly
differently we create their things
exactly the same way as we did before
also i'm just going to go quickly long
done then i'm going to go to Bath
straight away
now exeter
and lastly saying if so nice
ok click OK and so then now i'm going to
simply use the central through a long a
long line along roads
i'm going to start with London so I
click here and now i'm just going to
move down to st. Ives straightway now
what I can do
obviously I need to finish this so click
again and let's call it route
ok now what i can do is just go along
this specific line and move it to where
I wanted to go
basically then if I want this to go to
the sail through a mountain
I can put it here this is going to be so
let's go to Bridgewater this way so you
can basically rearrange the way the
blood is going so we can go here through
Oxford as well if you want to and so on
so this is our route with their teens
now how can we remove some of these
things let's save it
you can see we've got here that legend
for the specific map so if I select the
route i can now click on delete here to
remove this route
so let's move it and as we can see our
line is now removed now if i want to
remove one of the positions let's say
buff
let's heat on the elite and again there
. is and obviously removed so that's how
you do the maps now how you can you
export if we save this specific one and
we go to the previous one
my places you can see both of them are
listed here we go into the first one my
route and if you want to embed on your
page or link give someone the link to
this specific map link is here so if we
copy this link and open a new top and i
can now obviously to show the navigation
toolbar
now if I base this specific link you can
see it takes us to this map with the
outline of our road as well if we
obviously want to embed it on the page
or click on this one again
