hi I'm Skyler recently i always ask the
question how do i retrieve my text
messages from sim card
well I had to dive in and explain a few
things on that one
a sim card is not designed to store
information that said they generally can
store a small number of contacts and
older iphone / phones
did use them in order to store your
contacts and that's why sometimes you
can transfer your contacts to sim and
then from the same to a new phone but
what does seem even mean
sim is an acronym that stands for
subscriber identity module that's the
primary purpose of a sim card is to
identify the device your phone
that's trying to access the network say
AT&T network or t-mobile's or whatever
so right there is an indication that
it's not a device intended to store
large amounts of data text messages on
iphone are just txt files they're very
small but when you think about how many
text messages you've exchanged and how
deep your history with it is with each
of your contacts
plus the fact that you probably sent
pictures or videos at some point
well what she start to realize is that
this little tiny thing the subscriber
identity module is not going to hold all
of that data that's what iphone
engineers figured out very very early on
that day we're going to use the
technology of ipod in order to store all
that information on local iphone memory
the best way that I've come across so
far to extract contact or rather text
messages from an iphone to save your
history of a conversation with someone
is through a utility you can download
from the internet called iphone backup
extractor
now if you've created a backup through
itunes on your computer to download
backup extractor
you can use it to reach into that backup
file and pull out all of your SMS
messages so that you can look at them
later or archive them just in case you
really want to keep them for sentimental
purposes or for legal purposes or what
have you but remember that one it's
called backup extractor and as long as
you've got a backup stored locally on
your computer through itunes you'll be
able to use it in order to get all those
text messages
