How to Populate Your Address Book with a Custom CSV File

this is Eric in this video I'm gonna
show you how easy it is to import an
Excel document for the contacts that's
been sitting in your hard drive for the
last ten years
in order to give you a jump start in the
popular thing or connect address book
first things first if you're using Excel
you need to do two things
its open our Excel document and make
sure that each column as a proper
heading such as first name last name et
cetera
this is how connects will map the fields
from your document in to connect
secondly click File
save as and from the drop down menu
choose CSP comma delimited a CSV files a
standard file type for sharing this kind
of data
just click Save and then click
yes to make a copy of your Excel
document now saved as a CSV file
when there's a CSV file
0 on the dashboard of connects
click more options in the import
contacts area
you can also access the import screen by
clicking more
and import contacts with
choose custom form at the bottom of the
list
and then click Choose File
click Choose File and browse to your new
CSV file as
need to double click or click open 0
connects will try to match the field
names in the CSV file
with the connects fields but it's always
a good idea to double check and change
any that may be
incorrect just by using this drop down

you can also choose to apply a tag to
your imported contacts in order to
easily find and later
in this case I'm going to choose wedding
guests
with click Import am
and we've successfully imported our
contacts now they want to see Joe
those contacts I just filter my contacts
by wedding guests
with and here they are
