How to Import a Custom File into Your conXt Address Book

This video shows you how to import a custom csv file into conXt by easily mapping the csv fields to the conXt fields using the dropdown menus.

in this video I'm going to show you how
to import a
custom CSV file into can next
by which I mean a CSV file that has been
exported from a system
other than one of the ones that we
already support or perhaps you have an
old excel file left from your wedding or
some other event that you would like to
merge
to import and merge into connects now if
you don't know how to generate a CSV
file from your Excel file
please wash the 30-second video that
shows you how so without further ado
simply click the More Options button
under import contacts or hover over more
and select
import contacts then you will select
custom format from the list browse to
your CSV file
it click open now first don't forget
that you can choose a tag from the
drop-down list to apply to your
imported contacts this is an easy way to
find them later
I'm gonna choose to take us to import
that I created earlier
also please note that the first row in
your CSV file must be the header row
containing words like first name last
name phone et cetera
so when your CSV loads connects will
attempt to match the headers found in
the final
with connects fields it's important that
you take the time to look these over
because it because it is an imperfect
process
to make changes just choose the correct
field from the drop-down
so for instance HomeStreet
says do not import let's click on
home address street from city home city
the fields on the left are from your CSP
call
RCSB field the fields on the writer from
your next field
continue this process until all the
fields match
sometimes there might be a field in the
CSB
file which does not exist in
can next in that case simply leave the
do not import
as the selection when you are done with
that process
click the Import button the contacts
from a CSV file will be added or merged
into any existing contacts
