AnyPO: Purchase Order System - Create Purchase Orders and Requisitions

Purchase orders that live in a word processor template or a pile of spreadsheets get messy fast. You lose track of which items have arrived, which are on back order, and which vendor gets what. AnyPO is a Windows program that keeps those orders, vendors and products in one place and prints or sends the orders from there.

Quick facts

  • Version: 14.53
  • Platform: Windows XP, 7, 8 and 10. It also runs on Windows 98, ME, 2000 and Vista.
  • Levels: AnyPO I, II and III. All three are in one installation file.
  • Trial: The download is fully operational and has no expiration date.
  • Networks: A network-enabled edition is available. Its price doesn't depend on how many people use it.
  • Download size: about 38 MB

Key features

Send a purchase order however your vendor wants it

You can print POs, email them, fax them, put them on a website, or drop them into your word processor. Batch printing handles a stack of orders in one go.

See what has arrived and what is still on back order

AnyPO tracks which products you've received and which remain on back order. Multiple filter options and an advanced search help you find a particular order.

Reuse vendor and product lists instead of retyping

Built-in vendor and product databases hold your suppliers and commonly ordered items. Multi-line descriptions let you spell out an item properly, and pop-up calendars make dates quick to enter.

Handle foreign suppliers and requisitions

The program includes currency conversion and supports requisitions as well as purchase orders. Level III can be set up so a head purchasing or accounting office receives requisitions or orders from several departments. You don't have to use it that way.

Learn it from a large help system

The help documentation runs to over 500 pages with illustrations. The program ships with sample POs and vendors so you can try it before entering your own data. There is also a Getting Started Guide in PDF form.

Who it's for

AnyPO suits small and mid-sized businesses that issue purchase orders regularly and want a dedicated tool instead of a template. The vendor lists users such as engineering firms, building contractors, pharmacies, hotels, retailers and manufacturers. Because the network-enabled edition has no workstation limit, it also suits offices where several people raise orders.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • The evaluation copy is fully working and never expires.
  • Three levels share one installer, so you can try each before choosing.
  • It supports email, fax, HTML and word processor output.
  • Back-order and received tracking are included.
  • It runs on old and current Windows versions.

Cons

  • It is Windows only.
  • The vendor's discounted pricing comes with no support.
  • The evaluation download is a large self-extracting file. The vendor says to save it rather than run it directly.
  • The program works best with Microsoft Excel or another spreadsheet program for reports.

FAQs

Can I try AnyPO before paying?

Yes. The download is fully operational, lets you review every part of the program, and has no expiration date.

What is the difference between the three levels?

AnyPO I is the basic program. II and III add more features. All three are in one installation file, and the menus mark which features belong to which level.

Does it work on a network?

Yes. It runs on Windows-compatible networks, including Novell and peer-to-peer setups. The evaluation version is network enabled, so you can test it on your own system.

Do I pay per user?

No. The network-enabled price covers any number of users. Level III is priced by the number of departments, not workstations.

How do I install it?

You run the self-extracting file, click Unzip, and follow the on-screen directions.
