Importing CSV Files into Excel

This is a tutorial on how to import CSV files into excel. I recommend using the "text import wizard" because it lets you work with "delimited" files. CSV files are delimited by commas whereas .txt files are separated by tabs.

recommend getting the important external
data and that's because it will
automatically update the sheet
once if you change the historical value

yes we also the choice between PRN txt
and csv text is this

and pretty seldom-used so i'm going to
import and it brings up the text import
wizard
we're going to limited and in csv that
separated by commas you remember see ,
csv and tabs txt txt it separated by
tabs in the text file so we're going to
be limited so if we were using a text
file would use tab but right now we're
using , and you could choose you know
whatever you want here right now if we
were to look at all the periods that we
never want to sort of this way because
it's meaningless but it's just showing
you that if i put a period here
it all sort by the . so you can do

you have a date open high and low and
they're separated by columns and

is also supported by columns in the same

automatically cuts the data part for you

format the first column however you want

trick
just a quick one that it is hard to
explain without using a video you hold
down ctrl + shift + you press the down
arrow and the right arrow and it just
selected all of that data if you look
for in a row 20,000 so it did that much
quicker than you could
scrolling and what I'm just going to do
now is autoformat the columns with so I
go all H so I and see that on Michael
did it and I press escape or sorry the
press the down arrow and then
remember control home brings you back to
the a oneself
