Wii Disk Read Error: Do Disk Cleaners really work? The live test here...

I have an original launch-day Wii and about two months ago stopped reading all Disks. Nintendo wanted to charge me $95 USD to send it in to get fixed. That is more than have the price of a new console which I can get in black and with motion plus built into the controller. So as one last resort, I ordered a generic Wii Cleaning Kit from eBay and total cost with shipping was $7 USD. I was skeptical if it would work or not so I took a video as I was doing it. The initial attempt didn't seem to pick up any dirt and there was no change with the disk read error. However after trying with it powered on since I had nothing else to lose, it felt like it sank down inside once it was sucked in. Then after ejecting clearly saw dirt on the pad. Once I put in the game after that, every game I've tested since (even some with minor scratches) all work! I can see why Nintendo stopped selling their "official wii cleaning kit" because in some cases those actually work and they're out $95 bucks. Speaking of which, the "official nintendo brand" I see go for $30 USD plus shipping. This generic version literally cost me $7 USD including shipping and gets the same result. Only down side is I had to wait 25 days to receive it but if you can wait, it may be well worth it.

thing is place a few drops a solution to
the cleaning cloth pan

and wiggle it up and down gently and
then cleans complete so pretty simple so
