How To Create a Multi Page PDF in Mac OS X

This short video shows how to combine multiple documents (jpegs) into a multi-page PDF file using Preview in Mac OS X (Snow Leopard). Hint: It's very easy.

ok I'm when I'm going to show you how to
do tonight is how to create a multi-page
PDF file from several scans
they're just nice to have to go through
extremely complicated method to get to
do that to accomplish what i have
learned that you can do very easily in
using just one application which is
Apple's own preview
so here are my scans
it's a 67 pages out of the book and this
is how you how do i combine i scanned
them in jpg format and my goal is to
combine them into a PDF that consists of
seven pages
there is one page that's what they look
like I scanned them all about the same
size but they don't have to be exactly
the same size which is an important
consideration
considering on
the previous method that i used to use
and where they had to be the exact same
size
anyway what you do is you start out by
opening up
usually you would do it with them the
first page of your document
just click just drag that to your
preview application
and here we have it open now you can
open the side bar and we see it has one
page night at this point you just shift
click or control click the rest of the
pages in your document you don't want to
add this because it's already there so
we're going to do the remaining six
pages pop them right in there
here i'm going to click the first page
and just go through using the down arrow
key
make sure they're all in the correct
order I know for a fact they are and at
this point i'm going to select all
either command a or use this in the
minibar they're all selected now
now you would think that from here you
would just save as
but that doesn't work if I if I did this
it would only it would only um only one
it would be a one-page PDF essentially
it just doesn't work
so what we can do is use apple's own
print to PDF feature but again you just
don't print you have to use this command
in that is available in Preview print
selected images
it's going to select them all very easy
you just go to save as PDF and save it
to the desktop to change the name
stick a PDF extension on the end just so
i know what it is and click Save that's
all there is to it
it works it's a PDF document as you can
see here
double-click it's going to open up in
adobe reader
it's one page it's seven pages as you
can see the scroll through here and we
can see that everything looks great
these were these are good scan these are
good fairly high resolution scans so
it's this is a document that can be
printed or shared and it's multi page
and that's all there is to it
