Making a Sliding Pop-up Card | In The Studio

Sarah shows us how to make a sliding pop-up father's day card. Use this tutorial to make a similar card for any occasion!

hello and welcome to another episode of
in the studio today I'm joined by sarah
jackson read he's going to show this
really cool father's day card with a
little hidden surprise
it's a kinetic card
yeah
hi Sarah welcome lovely today now you've
made a really really cool father's day
card here but it's got a hidden secret
as it has a little sliding support means
in there it's it and it's actually quite
very simple to make
brilliant right but we like definitely
right let's get started what's first
ok I've got a craft card blank here
grilled we just need to cut in half
ok she's actually using the mister
mister collection for this project which
is why it's obviously fantastic four
cards for men for all occasions isn't it
loads of great themes
it's a really good one blah
one first
I mean this lovely really like this one
there's some great fantastic papers in
this collection I think that's my
favorite part of the collection
very nice but it's all very very
striking and now we've got that Downey
to cut this area out i was thinking
where the little yeah will do on the
back so i can just sort of my hand
ok so I'm coming in an inch on the side
ok and then an inch from the bottom
go up a little bit there and then we
need three quarters from the top
that's what's easier to market obviously
on their down the back don't let it roll
on them make a mistake and what pop all
these and dimensions online and do
crafts . com as well so you don't worry
too much if you were to lose track
that's it will do all that for you
then we just need to cut through their
craft and I became quite a few layers
there so i'm going to go over 23 years
right now I need to just come in half an
inch from that point just mark that up
like so and then from that point on a
half and then that should be another one
and a half to the top of the fold the F
so I just not that quickly and we use
our for in 110 just to school along
those brilliant school along
so this is what's making that the
mechanism of the detail that we are in g

that there is a little bit fiddly
something it's quite stiff but you'll
just have to sort of push that back

just take that down that they're

okay so we need to have a little cut in
the top there and I can eat what helped
just help put our tag in and out in 10
days
I'm just going to find the middle .

it doesn't need to be very big just
through Central just a little notch out
on you
that's it and then we just need to match
up the back as well
ok now we also need to make her as a tag
it goes inside there
okay just make that already so it's just
another piece of craft card
ok what i've done as I've made it
slightly wider than this piece here
ok that's not a wider than what we've
got but it needs to be the same finish
length from the top of the card to that
okay okay so we need a little bit to
support on brother
palm punch again and again we'll just
pop in the sense up
how lovely
ok just going to add a little sentiment
air
this is that mr. miss some of the mister
mister stand these got lots of lovely
sentiment really knows we just had one
of those to the top
very nice so we've got a bit of this is

I yeah absolutely but it's just really
nice because I thought with a little
athletics or patent on that now really
begins to pop out through there

this now needs to be attached to hear
okay first of all we're just going to
put a piece of tape just long up
I'm so it's going on that first little
section that's a little bit I can't got

we need to lay that flap get not sent
crawl walked on the backs also we need
to attach this to the back panel ok i'm
going to add some tight but what I want
to do with this double-sided is add it
quite close to the edge
ok because then it won't move about some
art - when you're pulling it out
so just go fairly close to the edge

back again

just needs to sit on their on their hour

I'm not really selling cars a simple it
looks so much more complicated than that

okay so obviously now we need to
decorate it a bit more name
I'm just going to add another sentiment

okay look there's so many nice little
sunday yeah we'll just go for another
all the bits of the other bits and bobs
even husband centers on again not
necessarily for dad other there's a lot
of pretty banners and laborers the
things I mean we've got some stars
these are just really versatile a lot by
these little cars
I'm go so now I've got a deck part from
one of the paper packs so I just put
that on a piece of craft card and give
it a little bit of extra let's make it a
bit more sturdy so before we layer this
up i'm just going to put some tight down
there
ok this will love what you're doing but
I know you're okay
blame so what I've done already is I've
taken the stars
no I see and I've stamped them already
there's a there's a black one as well
and just added them onto a tiny little
strip of acetate ok and then we'll just
add them around the edges
you look a little stick them thank you
so they look like they're coming out the
sides like so and then we just rely on
uppers
that's normal yeah fantastic and
obviously these are really easy to use
because they've all got numbers on how
can I several number two there
they already simple so looks a little
bit complicated but it's really quiet
it's definitely going to be a simple
white at ever going to be very
impressive they receive a card like this
i think it looks like you've you've
spent a lot of time it very very
complicated but it's but we know that we
don't have any way I just pop that back
down there
k and a bit of type 2 that front panel
there we go
just pop that off going to just pull
that out a little bit just so that we
can tell you that there
press it in place really him go
fantastic that's a clever and a really
great design that you could be used for
all sorts of occasions cover for any
occasion you to your Christmas cards
even brilliant thank you so much i was
