Acrobat 9: Inserting an Image File into an Existing PDF Document

This tutorial shows how to insert a .jpg, .gif, or .png file into an existing PDF document using Microsoft Word. This video shows an example with a signature file, but any image file can be inserted into a PDF using this technique.

so the other day one of my colleagues
asked me how he could insert a copy of
his electronic signature into a PDF
document our client was ok with an
electronic signature but we wanted to
provide a more professional look
then printing the page having him sign
it and then scanning it and reinserting
it into a PDF document that we created
straight from the file
so here's the work around that i showed
him he had his signature file in his
signature electronically in various
formats a a gift a ping and a JPEG
so the first thing that he tried to do
was just drag and drop the image but
every time the image was open he would
drag it into the PDF file
acrobat would simply open it up as its
own file in a new window there wasn't
really a whole lot we could do we
couldn't insert it then
so here's the work around that
I came up with forum we opened up the
various files
the image files in word right here and
this is the jpeg the gift and the ping
in this order and what we did was now
that they're in word hit ctrl-c to copy
them or right click copy
come over here hit control V to paste or
right click paste isn't showing up
anyway
hit ctrl be and now it's actually drop
the image into the PDF file
it's very large but that's okay because
going to full screen we can now adjust
the size
now there's one problem no matter what
the file format
over here we can see the PNG the King
has no background on it but when we move
that the ping over here
not only does it lose a lot of
resolution
it does have a background so there's no
way that we found to uh to have a
background list signature it in the
people dropped into a PDF file in the
same way that you
do with a word file but this is a pretty
good work around so we did we just put a
signature right there and that's how we
did the signature but the gift also
worked pretty well though it lost a lot
of resolution we found was that the
jpegs the jpegs really looked the best
and translated the best into into
acrobat PDF so that is how to put your
electronic signature into it at adobe
acrobat file using Microsoft Word I have
word 2003 running on this computer
but this also works with 2007-2010 and
i'm pretty sure that it works with with
some of the older versions of two of
word like 97 in those hopefully you are
using anything older than two thousand
three though at any right
