hey guys this is chris today we're
looking at the latest version of the
movie video editor which is available
for both the mac and the pc you can find
it at mov trials . com that link is also
under this video if you click on it it
will take you here to move obvious
website and you want to go up to
products and under either windows or mac
click on video editor and it will bring
you to this page where you can download
the free trial version so if you want to
follow along with me in this
demonstration
go ahead to mov trials . com download
the software and we'll go ahead and get
started
ok so once you download the movie video
editor 11
just double-click on the icon on your
desktop and give it a second and a
little screen is going to pop up here
asking you if you want to set your video
settings at the 16.9 or 4.3 and you got
some advanced settings here where you
can also adjust it by the presets or
custom and you can resize your screen by
letterbox stretching or cropping and you
can view the details
by hovering over the question mark here
as well as the audio so we're going to
leave the settings as they are
click OK and it says here we can create
a movie and as little as five steps and
I can read step by step step by step
instructions through the mobile website
we're not going to do that so close ok
so here we are on our main screen and
what movie has been doing is trying to
recreate all the software applications
to run with the basic design on all of
them that way it's a much easier to use
and there's not really much of a
learning curve because they all have the
same features to them and so what I'm
going to do to start with is we're gonna
go ahead and add some media files from
here
now you can also record some video and
add it or add folders and files record a
screencast and sand this hole here
it's not going to work unless you
actually have their screencast software
which is included with the suite which
i'll show you how to get that at the end
of this video so right now what I want
to do is add some media files from here
and i'm going to go ahead
and select all the ones i have now these
files a lot of them i got from video
blocks you can find that link under this
video as well where if you want to
subscribe to get video clips you can
that link will give you a huge discount
off of it if that's something you're
interested in
but right now i'm just going to use
these sample clips and Bobby comes with
a few that are pre-installed with it you
can use here
I'm not going to worry about those at
the moment so down here in our timeline
you can see all the files that i
imported you can see that some RR mp4
files these are the video clips and then
I do have two of them here which are
just photos and we're gonna do some
modifications to these as well as the
video clips in this demonstration we're
kind of make it look like it's a and
older and older clip so let's go ahead
and get started the first thing i want
to do is shorten these clips and remove
some excess audio so with this video
clip here you can see underneath it has
an audio file that came with it and the
waterfall one here has an audio file
that came with it i want to get rid of
these cause they're actually kind of
annoying
so I'm just going to click on this box
for the audio and you'll see a yellow
line appeared around it
I want to hit the delete button or and
come up here and hit the trash can when
it's selected so click on the waterfall
and then we will hit the delete button
and it removes those audio files
so now we're just left with the video
clips as well as the two images we have
here and the shortened this because at
the moment if we go clear to the end
you're going to see it's about 1 minute
20 seconds
we can also look down here at the
summary which tells you the project
length and your settings and we want to
make this between 15 and 20 seconds
so what I want to do is I want to cut
out some of these videos on these clips
or i can just shorten them by dragging
the end so what I can do here on this
first clip is I can either grab the ends
and i can drag them
I can do it with either side or what i
can do is i can get rid of some parts of
the video that I don't want totally by
just clicking somewhere within the video
clip and once
let's say I just want the first few
seconds at the beginning
we'll just go here i can click the
scissors and what that's going to do a
split this video into two different
sections
now what I want to do is click the
section that I don't want cause at the
moment you'll see the yellow box is
still around the entire video
so if I was to hit the delete button is
going to delete this entire video and I
don't want to do that i only want to get
rid of this part that I split so I want
to click it and you'll notice the yellow
box disappeared around this first
section
so now we're only working on the second
section of this video clip and we're
going to hit the trash can and it
disappears
so what the remaining video clips i'm
just going to drag the ends of them to
make it quicker and want to shorten this
one and we will shorten this one and
finally the waterfall
ok and you can see our video now is 19
seconds slum now let me go ahead of
these photos and shorten them also
now since we made these smaller it's
kind of harder to see so i can go down
here and i can drag this bar to zoom in
so we can see it better
just like that ok so our video now is
about 15 seconds long and at the moment
it is just a plain you know several
video clips put together with some
graphics oh nothing really impressive so
what we want to do is we're gonna get
this thing spiced up a little bit and
adding some audio to it
so the first thing i want to do is go
down here and we're going to go
click on beach and let's go to
transitions and transitions allow you to
have certain effects in between each
slide so when it goes from one slide to
another slider is going to be in effect
in between so let me give you an example
if we go down here to zoom in/out i can
click on it and drag it between these
two and you can see that there's now a
new icon down here and let me play it so
you can see what it does
you can see the effect that had there
instead of just jumping from one
photo or video to the next it that had
an effect and we can do that in between
each one
so let me go ahead and just drop a few
of these in here and there is a lot of
them to choose from
ok we'll just do that and I also want to
do fade the black at the last video that
way at the end of it will fade out to a
black instead of just cutting off
ok so now if we go through it we're
going to see in between each slide
there's going to be lips we missed one
right here just use we use a gradient
one here
ok let's try that again
okay there we go so now we have an
effect in between each one of them
now you can also rearrange these how you
want them just by clicking on the clip
and then dragging it left or right or
wherever you want it right now I'm just
going to kind of keep it the way it is
so once we have this done we can go down
here to titles and we can add these over
top of our videos so let's do for
example be happy if you click it it's
going to show you what it's going to
look like and we can drag this down and
add it to this section here where it
says t and this is for your titles track
and we can move it where we want it
where we wanted to start an end and I
want to hear it but I don't want it to
be all the way through this video so I'm
gonna take it and move it back just to
the beach part and we can go over here
and click play and you can see how it
adds the effect of course we didn't like
we're gonna have to either make it
longer make it run slower so just go
ahead and click play
ok and then if you want you can
double-click on this
the title and you can come up here and
you can edit it to you can move this
around wherever you want it you can
change the text the title you can slow
the speed down you can see you can slow
it down or speed it up which will
obviously allow it to play much faster
so you don't have to have a dragon clear
out through your whole video so i don't
i'm not going to just not want to delete
it but i just wanted to show you the
titles and also you can overlay videos
over over top each other - so let me
give you an example let's go back here
to my files and we'll do a sample videos
here let's do we can do clouds i can
drag it down here and put it on this
timeline and it's move it up here so
that we now have two timelines and the
one on top here is actually going to be
a video that's going to lay on top of
these videos so if you look up here in
the main screen you're going to see that
there's cloud a cloud video now up there
let me show you how this works we go
back and click play you'll see once it
hits that it comes up here and it goes
over top the other video and you can do
this as many times as you want
you simply just come up here and you
click the the file you want you drag it
down
and if it puts it like down here in this
one you just want to drag it up and here
and it lays it up on top this one and
then if you don't want this video here i
can double click it and I can move it
and let's say put it down here and then
we wanted to start after this video so
let's click play
so you can see how they pop up and they
run until the end of the video
so that's how you overlay videos and
we're just going to use one video track
for this example
so once we have this done and we have
our transitions in between we want to
add some effects to our videos and the
photos so i can go to the effects icon
here and we can see all kinds of meat
effects we can add to it there is even
animated things like balloons you can
add Cupid's camera shake or just
different kinds of effects you can add
to and what I want to do is get down
here retro and i want to add several
different effects to make this one
really stand out
first we're going to want to do the old
movie seventies
it just kind of gives it a little bit of
a tint to it and I want to drag us down
and i'm going to add
it to each clip and once I do this I
want to edit this one here with the cows
because the cow videos in HD
it's really vibrant and it's it's going
to take a lot to make us look older
so we're also going to do the gray scale
on the cow and then we're going to do
the old movie scratches and I want to
put that on the rest of them also just
because it looks pretty cool
okay there's that and we can also add
this effect here you guys are probably
pretty pop-up familiar with this one
this is a really popular or phones
mobile phones when you edit photos
so there's let's play it through now and
see what it looks like with the effects
added
okay that looks much better
ok so we're almost done with this video
now we want to add some audio to it and
there is a couple audio files that come
with the movie video editor i want to
use one of those and look up the sample
audio and click on the travel one and
i'm going to drag it down here and add
it to my audio timeline so you can see
the audio file reaches way out past our
Clips here so what I want to do is zoom
out so I can see the end of it which is
clear out here i'm going to grab it and
I get all the way back to the end of my
clip and then we resume back in
ok so now we can see the my audio ends
with my video clip and I want to double
click on my audio and want to come up to
fade out and I want the audio to slowly
fade out the last three seconds
ok now once we're done with that you can
further edit your clips and your photos
by just clicking on it and then coming
up here and making some adjustments to
it
what I want to do is with this one here
you'll notice when we play it is just me
it's just really playing its kind of set
still there so what i can do is i can go
here and click on the desert photo and I
can go to zoom and there's some effects
here it says zoom in and out
pan sideways pan down and we're going to
do a zoom in and then for this one we're
going to do a zoom out and i believe
that is pretty much it for this video
let's add an ending title to it will go
back to our titles and we'll go to the
end
i'm going to click it and drag it and
you can see it added here so let's go
drag this back we'll end it about right
here and we'll make our audio go to the
end of that as well let's see how the
sounds at the end
ok
and this needs to be a little faster if
we want it to get done in time so we'll
go there
let's try it now ok so that there will
work let's go ahead and play it through
all the way and we'll see what it looks
like
okay not to bad taking a few minutes to
put some clips together some photos
together and you can have yourselves a
very professional looking video now with
this trial version there are some
restrictions as i was mentioning earlier
once you go to export your video you're
going to see those once you click export
its going to tell you that the words
trial version is going to be overlaid on
your videos in the trial version and
only half the length of the audio file
is going to be exported and the trial
version is limited to seven days so
basically with the trial version
there's not much used to it other than
if you want to come in here and play
around the settings and see some of the
effects and transitions
just to know before you purchase it so
if you are ready to buy it and click the
active by activation key and it's going
to give you the option to buy the video
editor or the video editor sweet and
just to give you a heads up the video
editor sweet i believe is like twenty
dollars more and it comes with a lot
more software tools and applications you
get almost I think the majority of
movies software products with that for
just 20 bucks more so it's a very good
deal if this is something that you
really want to get into whether you want
to make you know video clips for just
yourself for fun for family events
holidays or even if you want to do it as
a hobby and and you know make make some
money from it this is a great tool to
use
so what I want to do here is go ahead
and click on continuing trial mode to
show you that how you can save these
files and so many different formats
so you go here and the first one is save
this video and this is going to be
probably the most common
click the drop-down box you got avi mp4
mov and there's other formats you can do
down here as well as DVDs and you can
see the audio only you can save it for
Apple devices Android other devices such
as blackberries kindles in playstation
xbox and you can also save it in youtube
format in 364 ad 720 or 1080 and some
other options here as well and once
you're done you just click start and
it's going to put everything together
for you and make this movie and save it
to you in a location where you
one of them so that's all there is to it
with the movie video editor
it is a great tool it's an amazing tool
actually for the price i believe it's
around thirty nine dollars and if you
been doing research for video editing
software video editing tools out there
available
some of them are way up there and the
hundreds of dollars and this is a great
alternative to those for both the pc and
the mac to give you the majority of the
features are going to need to create a
really nice video
so this has been the movie video editor
review I hope you guys have enjoyed it
you can come here to mov trials . com to
learn more and download the free trials
