How to change pictures into icons for folders

and I'm going to teach you how to change
pictures into icon files
um it's actually pretty easy you need to
download anything
yeah you really need to do a lot of
things it's a really fast and easy
process
anybody can do with any computer and
yeah so uh before we get started I got
to tell you um
this will not work with DX week at exe
file so on
for example
like this if it says right here in the
type of file exe in parentheses or any
of it is just exe this will not work
because uh one of the programs not yours
so you can't really put your type of
icon and you know I can't read it you
this will only work with folders you
could change the icon of exe files but
requires hacking i think it's called
third person something like that out but
um yeah I don't know how to do that so i
can't really help you there so I'm yeah
okay let's get started so first what you
do is going to go to your internet and
turn your internet google or any type of
you know search engine you like bling
yahoo any type then we go there you go
to images then you put the images you
want so I'm let's see that's change the
icon of this game boy advance folder so
okay so let's put something like pokemon
pokemon icon pokey ball shot that
pokeball icon
ok
let's try that one now this one now this
one you get
you should copy it you don't have to
save the picture and it's unnecessary
just copy it and then you go to your
paint
remember this is a Windows 8 computer
ok usually the older models the the
start is right here
see that right there and it's like a
little circle but mine is right here or
right there
ok so I'm don't get confused just go to
where your Start usually is and you put
search then go your paint
wherever your pain is you're in search
of you have your pain your desktop it
gives you that
yeah my paint is a little different it's
in this little square but usually the
paint is like that huge
don't worry about that you know once you
do all this it's gonna you know make
sense so place the picture right there
and uh first what you do the picture is
that you resize it and i'm going to show
you why you needed you need to resize it
well okay this is a precise right now so
on
by pixels remember not percentage pixels
that's really important ok with pixels
you put 32 you put ok
you see when you go to file and then you
go to properties
and then right there you put the pics
again remember start inches or
centimeters pixels and you put 32 again
when you put it through right here put
ok and you see right there
now the reason why you gotta make this
picture into pixels is this is going to
happen let's look at it's a this will
happen if you don't do it but yeah so
happy with you under this is usually a
common problem with people when they put
the picture you see it only gets that of
that corner of the picture if you see so
when you make it into 32
then you could you know you can get the
full picture pixels remember our
percentage pixels but ok you
properties easy it's going to be like Oh
three digit number but if you put 32
then you're good 32 and from here on you
go to no way up sorry yeah okay yeah you
go to save as a right here
save as my pictures okay all right here
when it's where it says save as type you
put it in 24 bit map
ok if you don't do this it will not work
what you do here is that you put the
name like okay let's just say game icon
and then you put . i see oh ok that will
show that it is a icon file if you don't
do that it will not work then you put
slate same ok
it's usually going to go to my pictures
yes I am
yeah
so you take this out and then what you
do is that you left click right here and
go to properties go to customize then go
to change icon
let's go to browse and you put that open
okay then here's where the people get
confused they may think that ok
he's going to change the icon but it
doesn't um you got for applied first to
reply
it's different what's different
mmm i think i know why it say
ok so i didn't change into you know
where I put but uh it will I think it's
because I'm found something on my
computer but yeah if you do that then it
will change to the icon you put ok so
just don't mind this okay
I did it like wow that's why this
picture comes in because a you know I
tried to change the icon into this
picture and it did so yeah so yeah

files
